beds aren't that comfortable but for a short stay it's ok. i understand that the rum bar downstairs has a different management but I would have loved for it to be open during my stay.

The position, really close to the sea, and the room, wide and clean.
Don't miss the chance to visit the Rhum Factory nearby! :)
Self check-in.
I arrived around 8 pm and the mechanical process to open the main door was not so easy to understand. I was lucky to find the pub downstairs still open, so the guys helped me in opening the door. Anyway, the host was prompt to help me on the phone and I could check-in.

Only a few minutes walk to the beach, the Rum Inn was a great place to stay at. From here it was very easy to visit the western part of the island, but not only; Funchal is half an hour away.
The room was very clean and offered everything you needed, beach towels could be rented for 2.5 eur.
Communication with the host and the check-in went perfectly, leaving the luggage there early on the check-in day was not a problem at all.
Downstairs there is a snack bar with super friendly hosts, great snacks and super cocktails. We had here the breakfast and spent the evenings with some drinks. Really worth recommended.
We would definitely go back to this place again.

Location by the beach, clean and pretty new
The accommodation does not clean the rooms during the stay "due to environmental reasons", however, cleaning is possible for extra charge, I guess to cover the environmental impact.

Very good value, a large room with a big bathroom and a decent bed. Check-in was all online and everything worked well. The instructions for building access were sent by email and were clear and arrived well in advance of my arrival.

Very well located, beach and supermarket nearby. The hotel is very chic, clean and comfortable. I totally loved the vibe. The vintage/bohemian look makes it even more amazing!

Great location in Calheta! Near beach, restaurant and bus stop. The room was really nice, it was big with nice interior. comfortable sheets and big bathroom with nice interior as well. The hotel has a cool vibe to it overall and feels fresh and new. Cleaning and changing sheets everyday which was nice.
The staff was absolutely great! Didn’t see them much but we arrived in the evening and needed another blanket since we were two friends but had booked one king size bed which only had one big blanket. I messaged the owner(?) on WhatsApp and he came to help with a new blanket almost immediately! He was super friendly and also even offered another room with two separate beds! Very nice.
Wifi was very good and they offer free fruits and cakes in the lobby everyday which is also very nice.
The bathroom had a bad smell sometimes, seemingly from the pipes/discharge, that spread to the rest of the room if the door was open. Usually in the evening. It was also kind of humid and hard to get things dry by hanging them in the room.
Bed was really hard.
The floor in the room didn’t seem mopped in one area but we’re all humans and missing spots can happen to anyone. Wasn’t a big deal to us and the rest of the room and bathroom was clean!

Lovely and spacious and close to beach. Free parking a short distance away.
Instant decaf coffee only available - no tea and no milk even powder milk.

Great location.
it was impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom.

Familiar and cozy hotel run by a young couple, elegant interiour, good location. The room was very big and had two double beds, the room service came almost every day to clean and change towels and make the bed. We felt much at ease. We took this hotel as a base to make excursions on the island. (I would though recommend to use a rental car, the bus lines are bad). The hotel is located in the center of Calheta very close to the beach and shopping amenities as ell as restaurants. Funchal can be reached by bus but it takes 2.5 hours and the bus ride is adventurous and very uncomfortable and dangerous. The taxi to Funchal is around 50€ and takes around 30 minutes. The hiking place "Rabacal" is around 20 minutes away and we paid 25€ for the taxi.
nothing, but it is further from Funchal and Porto Moniz as I thought, and Calheta itself is super steep, it is hard to get somewhere by walking, but this is about Calheta not the hotel
