All good, the cottage was lovely but the highlight is the elevated garden up a short hill, simply amazing views ! I stayed up there all the time when the weather permitted but it is Wales !
Gwyn the owner was lovely.

A private, spacious property in a beautiful location. Everything was there that we needed for a fantastic and relaxing holiday. Definitely recommend taking you breakfast up to the private garden for the fresh air, peace and quiet and stunning views. Yes there is a short, very steep hill, but worth it! Beds were comfy and plenty of storage. Everything was there that we needed, including a small amount of dish washer tabs and washing up supplies. Very thoughtful to supply a jug of fresh milk so we could have a cupa on arrival. Owner communication was excellent via email and a welcome on arrival. Perfect location for walking into Porthmadog. Yes hilly and steps in places but my children (7+10) and their grandad (72) managed it with ease. I would highly recommend the walk to Borth Y Guest and beyond! We took a back pack with a picnic and continued past the village to explore all the bays along the coastal path, all the way up to the end of Black Rock Sands. Just stunning, my favourite day! A couple of useful things to note for those with younger children, which didnt effect us, because ours are older. The twin room is up its own staircase and does not ajoin the upstairs double. The bathroom is on the ground floor off the kitchen. If you have little ones, you could easily keep an eye on them with a baby monitor in this case. For me it would have been useful to know in advance as it doesn't seem to be stated on the propert description. And yes there are spiders, because its a barn conversion, but there was also plenty of long brushes / dusters in the cleaning cupboard so they can be easily moved. We didnt mind at all, most were high up in the beautiful vaulted ceiling spaces. Overall we loved the property and the location and would definitely book it again! Thank you to Gwyn.

Family holiday
We were impressed with the property, however disappointed that the views were only seen from a viewing platform and it was quite hard to walk up the short hill (30s walk).
The house was clean and tidy, but the downstairs bedroom door handle and en-suite door handle did not work well and doors would not stay closed (we could have asked but feel it should have been addressed before we came).
Minor notes: bin lid did not fit the bin and the toaster was a bit dodgy.
On a very positive note we asked Gwyn for things to do in the rainy weather and he specifically came over the next day with a list of things to do.

The property is a beautifully converted coach house that is spacious, practical in design and very homely - close to the shops, harbour and local steam trains. There were lots of added touches that made our stay very enjoyable - it was a true home away from home. The jug of fresh milk in the fridge on arrival was very welcomed after a long drive from Surrey. The bedrooms and living spaces were well appointed and very comfortable. The added bonus is the viewing deck that overlooks the harbour and is the perfect spot for a morning cuppa or sundowners. Gwyn is a wonderful host who goes out of his way to share local knowledge and advice for day trips. Porthmadog is a lovely town with lots to see and do in the surrounding areas. Would highly recommend this property!

Immaculate and well situated
We had a great trip as a group of friends. Gwyn was really accommodating, the house was immaculate and exactly like the pictures (perhaps even cosier). The area is perfect for exploring the coast or Snowdonia.

Great base for exploring
A lovely fully-equipped converted coach house which was very convenient for exploring north-west Wales. Perfect location for Snowdonia and Llŷn peninsula. Beautiful beaches very near the coach house. Porthmadog a 5 minute walk away.

Perfect getaway
Lovely converted coach house in a beautiful location. The garden has amazing views over the estuary, harbour and mountain (which the sun sets over). It's well placed with a 5 minute walk into either Borth y Gest or Porthmadog yet the location is in a quiet location. Gwyn was a welcoming host. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

The property was immaculate. Kitchen was particularly well kitted out. Location was great for us as it was lovely and quiet but easy to access the town and surrounding areas. Views were stunning

A Welcome break
The location was great. The views from the garden were spectacular. The provision of towels was a big help to us. The only criticism is that the property looked not not to have been cleaned prior to our arrival, meaning we had to spend a good while getting rid of all the spiders and webs. Apart from that, it was a really peaceful and great location to chill out and explore.

Stay in Borth-y-Gest
This is a beautifully presented , super clean and well equipped property in a fab location in borth y guest . Had a great stay The private garden for the property has amazing views which could not be beaten and great for al fresco dining or just sitting soaking up the sea views- but slightly disappointed that the garden is up a small slope and separate from the property so no view from the cottage, slightly misleading as the view was our priority. There is outdoor space attached for sitting and eating out ,but enclosed by a high garden wall . Would recommend if comfort, location and finish are your priorities

The property was fantastic as was the host. My only loss of a star was the realisation that I couldn't see the estuary, the picture that accompanies the booking from the property. It was tricky for my partner to climb steep slope to see what was so beautiful. Otherwise no faults in the coach house at all and I will return in the future hopefully with my other son and wife.

Fantastic
Beautiful house and location with stunning views!
Me and 5 other friends stayed here and explored North Wales.
Visited a variety of places from Conwy, Anglesey, Zipworld, Portmeirion etc.
So nice coming back to this house and relaxing. Cooking a nice meal in the kitchen -plenty of local shops to choose from. We even got to try the local Indian & Chinese takeaway which were both lovely!
We had drinks in the private garden on some of the evenings and just loved the views with the sunset.
Went to a nearby town and enjoyed a lovely meal at Dylan’s too, would recommend that.
Would defiantly stay here again next time visiting Wales!
Thank you !!

Perfect getaway
We had the perfect time at this idyllic spot. The property is spacious and was immaculate. Beautiful spot to sit outside with amazing views. There are mountains to one side and the estuary to the other. Very close to wonderful beaches and close to Porthmadog if you need provisions. The owner responded immediately to any questions we had and was on hand to offer helpful advice. We were there with a 16, 14 and 8 year old and there was ample space and plenty of places to explore nearby. We will definitely return.
