We recently purchased this duplex and plan to continue the history of making memories for families for years to come! This 1925 duplex has beautiful soft light from tall windows and a great dining room to gather. Couples, small groups of friends, and families who want to slow down, go to the beach and the park, and relax in this walk-able small town should feel right at home.

Our property is conveniently located at the crossroads of Cape Charles - an easy walk to "downtown", the beach, and across the street from Central Park. The duplex has a covered porch to enjoy your coffee in the morning overlooking the park and a back deck with table/chairs, umbrella and new gas grill, overlooking the fenced-in back yard with outdoor shower. The kitchen is newly equipped with upscale dishes and serving pieces if you like to entertain, Keurig coffee maker, electric and stovetop teapots. An additional cost of cleaning any furniture and bed spreads will be retained from your security deposit if the fur is found on the furniture and beds.
Cape Charles is embraced by water on three sides: commercial town harbor and yacht center (south), public beach (west), and marina (north). It's a wonderful setting if you love the water! Park Place is 3 blocks from the beach (Bay Ave.) and 2 blocks from the shops on main street (Mason Ave.). We are a mile from Bay Creek's two signature golf courses by Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, with top ratings by Golf Digest. The area promotes eco-tourism opportunities, including kayaking (even kayak/wine-tasting trips to a local winery), fishing off the town pier, hiking, and birding. You can rent jet skis at the harbor, bicycles, and golf carts. The town often has festivals, planned recreational activities for children and adults, and sometimes shows, movies, or live bands in the Park. The Eastern Shore Birding and Wildlife Festival in early October - fall weather is great here! Festive Fridays for shopping and Christmas treats are held the month of December on Mason Avenue. Year-round, Cape Charles has live theater performed by Arts Enter and others at the Palace Theater, art galleries, a Brown Dog ice cream shop, ladies upscale consignment, and beautiful spa to name a few of the attractions in town! We have good eateries and, if you like nostalgia, be sure to stop by the lunch counter at Rayfield's pharmacy at the corner of Mason Ave. and Fig. Street. Cape Charles Medical Center is located on Mason Ave. too.

This has all the comforts of home! The park across the street is great for walking our dogs; downtown and the beach are less than a 10 minute walk. And, oh the sunsets! Cape Charles and 305 Strawberry are our definite home away from home.

From the second you walk into this super spacious, clean, beautiful home you will enjoy the peaceful vibe of the neighborhood yet be so close to everything you could possibly want. The owner was super responsive to any communication and genuinely seemed to want to make sure our stay was perfect.highly recommended!!!

The furniture and finishes are all low quality and very old and worn. A number of the windows barely locked. A bifold to the laundry room was missing, a kitchen cabinet was dented and peeling apart, baseboard moldings missing. Overall there was a general grime over the entire place. The carpet was very worn and dirty. The refrigerator had a piece of old sliced cheese stuck to a shelf. The stair railing is loose and a spindle is falling off . At the conclusion of our visit when stripping the bed the mattress covers were fairly stained. At least one room only had one wall outlet.
The place is in need of a full remodel.
The location is very ideal and the use of the folding chairs and beach cart was nice. The outside shower worked well.
I'm highly confused and skeptical of the other reviews. It's unfortunate that you can't leave photos with a review.

This was the second time our family has stayed at this property. The location is perfect: across from the park and about 3 blocks from both the beach and main shopping district. The shaded porch is a great spot for 3 or 4 people to hang out and enjoy the whether. It is also one of the few Cape Charles rentals that allows pets.
Side note: we enjoyed meeting the owners while they happened to be staying in the other side of the duplex the same week. They are easy going and do a good job of keeping this older home in great shape.

Ideal spot that was walking distance to both the beach and town. Very comfortbale home with all of the necessary amentities. We were especially appreciative of the various toys, books and high chair for our child. This was a pleasant surprise. The host was easy to communicate with and very accomodating. Thank you for a great vacation!

We stayed in the right side of the duplex. It is a lovely house, but as is warned by the owners, it is older and settled so it feels a bit tilted in some places, be careful on the stairs as they tilt to the left a bit and the railing is in the lower style indicative of the year it was built. It is clean and bright, though. The owners provide a lot of essentials, making it easier on the traveler. There is a high chair and a pack and play bed. A beach cart, chairs, umbrella, toys and towels are all available to use. There are plenty of kitchen supplies. The beds are comfortable. I am a huge fan of the fact they use a laundry service for linens, ensuring clean sheets and towels. The only complaint I have is noise. The walls are thin. So hope for quiet duplex neighbors. The house next door (not duplex neighbor) had a large party that was frustrating when trying to put a toddler to bed, so i only took off a star for the location, because i know that is not the owner's fault. Very close to the beach and downtown. We didn't drive anywhere. Great stay!

The property is in a great location next to the park and a short 5 minute walk to stores and the beach. The house was well stocked with beach supplies, kitchen items, and games. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching our daughter create chalk art on the sidewalk. Very nice neighborhood!

Super cute property that’s clean, centrally located, and comfortable. We weren’t there long but we enjoyed our weekend away. The kitchen was well-stocked with basics, and there was plenty of paper towels/toilet paper.
Thanks for having us!

We love the little town of Cape Charles VA. This rental is in a perfect location - across the street from Central Park, a few blocks to the beach and to the shopping district. We have stayed at this house for 4 or 5 years. It is clean and comfortable. Great for the 3 generations of my family!

This is our second stay at this house and we loved it! The house is equipped with everything you would need at your home away from home. Both times we stayed, the renters in the duplex were so sweet. We also got to know some of the neighbors who were just as kind.once you stay here there really is no need to stay anywhere else in Cape Charles. John is also very responsive! Looking forward to staying next year!

Great property that has everything you'd need in an excellent location. Directly across from the splash pad at Central Park and only a few blocks from the beach. We shared the duplex with family who stayed on the other side and it was an excellent way to vacation.

Great location, right across from the main park with a splash pad fountain, summer Saturday night concerts, and playground. Quick walk or golf cart ride to the beach and main shopping area just a few blocks away. Nicely stocked game section in the house and helpful kitchen items!

The location of the property is perfect and when you add the park located in walking distance from the house, nothing beats that!!! We enjoyed our stay and appreciate that the owners opened their home to us. We had a great time for the week!

This property is a nice size. There were five in our group and we fit nicely. Caddy-corner from the park with tennis courts, a soccer field, and a playground, it was walking or golf-cart distance away from everything. The floors and stairs are slanted quite a bit, so I do not recommend it for people with balance issues. Check-out was fairly easy except the email we received about checkout time was 11:00 but the checkout time in the house manual was 10:00 a.m. - too early for people with families (especially if you have small kids). The house was nicely stocked with things like trash bags, paper towels, dish -and - laundry detergent. It also had a number of dried herbs, pots and pans, and ant traps (which came in handy - there are always ants at beach houses :) The handles on the drawers in the dining room fell off (they were not screwed in) and there were a few cobwebs on the windows and porch outside. I would stay here again, but it might behoove the owner to do a good deep cleaning.

This house was in the perfect location in Cape Charles and within walking distance to everything. The house has all the charm and quirks of a house built in 1925 and was well stocked with everything you need, right down to the salt and pepper. A bonus perk of this property was that we could bring our dog with us and enjoy beach time every morning with the neighborhood dogs. I would definitely recommend this property to adults and families with pets!

We really enjoyed our week long stay in Cape Charles. The duplex was great and in truly the best location for access to the beach, the shops on Mason Ave and the park. We stayed with our one year old daughter and it worked out well for her. The house doesn't have a bathtub but we brought our fold up tub for her so it was fine. The floor of the house are a little crooked because of its age and the stairs are steep for those with mobility issues. The backyard was a great asset and perfect for our dog.

The weather wasn’t ideal but the house was great filled with the comfort of home. There were games/toys for the kids and bed for the dog. Would definitely stay again!!

The housing was authentic and charming. The 3 bedrooms worked well for our family. The backyard and patio felt very private and inviting, we spent the afternoons there playing cards on the patio. The location is very convenient. We walked around town and the park. We visited ahead of busy season and found many of the stores/shops in town open on a limited schedule. We look forward to returning. Cape Charles is a lovely little town with lots of character and charm.

I took my daughters (3 and 7yo) to Cape Charles for spring break. It was the perfect house to keep them entertained on days it was too cold to play at the beach. There were plenty of board games and we were right across the street from the playground! We just got home but are already talking about going back next year!!

Our family booked this VRBO in hopes of creating amazing new Thanksgiving memories after a bit of a rough 2022. Thanks to the owner, John, for offering this place as a rental because it fit the bill and was exactly what we all needed to do just that. First, the home was clean and well-appointed, in the historic district (the home was built in 1925), and close to EVERYTHING. We didn't drive anywhere except to the Food Lion once (just a 5 minute drive) to stock up at the beginning of our stay. It's a 5-10 minute walk to coffee shops, restaurants, the beach, and all other shopping - reminiscent of a town from a Hallmark Christmas movie, just to give you an idea. We love to walk so we spent much of our time doing that, but you can also rent a golf cart to get around if walking isn't your thing. It's a dog-friendly home and town - we brought our 2 poodles and took full advantage of the park directly across the street as well as the small fenced-in backyard. The owner provided all the necessary information - we had no reason to contact him at all during our trip. Everything was laid out and explained perfectly and the pictures and description were accurate. Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful property for all of us - steps from the playground, which my 3 and 5 year old grandsons loved and just a few blocks from the beach and Mason Avenue. The house had everything we needed, was bright and cheerful and made for lovely get-away long weekend. Thank you for having us!

The check in process was wonderful. John sent very thorough instructions prior to check in. The house was clean and well equipped. We loved the location, right across the street from the park for anytime dog walks, they have entertainment there in the summer. We were two blocks from the beach and three blocks from restaurants and shops. No need to get in our car during our stay. Town has wonderful walkability, lovely 1920's architecture in the historic section. Pop to the beach after dinner for the sunset and walk back to the house in minutes. We were there in the off season so it was very quiet. Great stay. Will be back.

Cannot get a better location! We appreciated that the house was stocked so well with everything we may need (pack and play, high chair, toilet paper, etc!). The only thing we had trouble with was the floors settling/feeling unsteady upstairs, but that’s just part of being in the historic district! Thanks for an awesome stay
