We had 1 side of an A-frame chalet duplex. The first floor bathroom and kitchen have been nicely updated. There was a comfortable sofa and 2 okay chairs which were all fine for watching tv for a couple of hours. The living room could use more lights and an instruction sheet for how to work the tv (and the 4 remotes).
The bedrooms and a tiny half bath are up a fairly steep staircase. The queen size beds were comfortable. Each bedroom also had 2 bunk beds and we did not use those. The half bath had motion lights which would blast on when visiting the room. This was annoying for people who needed the restroom in the middle of the night. The kitchen also had these same motion lights which we couldn’t figure out how to control. This was not great for the person that slept on the sofa.
There’s a cozy screened in porch that overlooks a small lake. We enjoyed spending a lot of time out there. There are bikes, a game room, a grill, and a picnic table for this unit. The pool area is nice and it’s about .2 miles from the chalet. The private beach is almost .5 miles and is accessed by a fairly steep staircase.
All in all, we liked the chalet for a group of 3 but felt it would feel small for a larger group. We felt quite safe here and liked that you had to pin in and out.

It was great! Exactly as stated in the listing. Very cozy and cool on some hot, muggy days. The location is fantastic as well. The property itself has multiple pools and playgrounds within walking distance. It's also a very easy drive to several of the small towns along the coast.
Overall a great stay. Would definitely come back.

This little A-frame stay was super cute. Everything is very updated and it was very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Had a great stay. Kitchen has been updated from the photos in the listing, and it was beautiful. Only negative was that it was at the completely at the back of the property from the lake and beach. However, it was nice to be by the fishing pond, and one of the pools wasn’t very far.

We had a wonderful stay at the Chalets on the Lake. Our unit was beautifully done and well appointed. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated this year. Everything was very clean. There were lots of activities for our grandchildren….two pools, beach, and playground. They also enjoyed the playroom in our garage. There were games, the wi-fi worked well, floaties, balls and even a wagon, big wheel and some adult bikes. We think we had the best unit and would definitely visit again! Thank you!

Chalet on the Lake is a great place to stay. There are 3 pools ,(baby, kiddie and regular size), beach access, activities including tennis, shuffle board, pickleball, fishing and play grounds all spread out the whole property.
Chris' (the host) Chalet was awesome to stay at. He renovated in 2024 so the appliances and bathrooms were fully updated. The covered patio could use a power wash/update but it worked for us.
We ended up overpacking because we didn't know what to bring but this place was fully stocked with cooking utensils, plates, glasses, beach chairs, toys, bikes,and games etc. He provided the bath towels, tp, hand soap, and paper towels so If you don't mind washing dishes and towels ( there is a dishwasher and laundry) all you need to bring are beach towels, Kleenex, hand towels and wash cloths, shampoo, and laundry detergent.
The garage was converted into a game room with a pool table that turns into air hockey and ping pong. My son was too little for that but he loved the kiddy bike that was there to ride.
I traveled with a 3 year old, my husband and my mother. She enjoyed the covered patio with the view of the pond. My husband enjoyed the grill and I enjoyed having space from the other Chalets.
The Chalet is close to the front so we decided to drive to the beach instead of dragging all the stuff there but everything is within walking distance.
There is a Meijer about 10 mins away and St Joe is about 15 min away with fun things to do for kids.

Perfect for our family four night stay. Adorable, clean and comfortable accommodations. Walking distance to two private beaches, pools, shuffleboard, b-ball, tennis/pickleball, playgrounds. Close to grocery, restaurants. Plenty of games/activities and houseware to keep busy and cook during downtime. Highly recommend 10/10!

The overall property was amazing. The updated kitchen and bathroom or a definite plus! There are so many things to do right there. We only left for one full day.
Our kids loved the on-site pools and beaches. It’s a real easy drive to St. Joseph where you can go to Silver Beach and do all the fun shopping downtown. I had never been to Michigan before, but I am in love. I will choose this over the ocean any day. Every morning I walked down to the one beach that had more rocks on the resort and collected Seaglass. We spent so much time on the beach and I felt so comfortable and that my kids were safe. It was a bonus to not have to deal with salt water!
Overall, we had a great stay, and I hands-down would recommend this place to anyone!

The villa was beautiful and comfortable. The property was gorgeous and great for families. Multiple pools, playgrounds and the beaches were great! No need to leave for entertainment. The playroom in the basement/garage was an especially nice amenity. We will definitely book this property again!

This cabin was just the right size to fit our family and our older kids loved the air hockey table in the lower level. The cabin was in a gated community, which gave it extra security, and had 2 pools and a play ground, which was nice for some of the cooler mornings and evenings. The property manager was prompt to respond prior to our arrival and there were not any issues while we were on property. This was the perfect place and size for our first vacation up to lake Michigan.

We enjoyed this chalet immensely. The lake access and converted garage (game room) were the highlights. The kitchen is a little dated and the bedrooms are a bit cramped, but we had everything we needed and the overall property was a bit nicer than we were expecting.

We loved our time here for the second year in a row. Basement converted into a game room is a big hit with the kids! Love the resort itself with two pools, a fishing pond, and it’s own private beach. Would love if kitchen had a few more cooking utensils/pans!

This was our first time visiting Lake Michigan and we all agreed we need to come back and we would absolutely stay here again!
The communication was great, the Chalet was clean with a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful bathroom, fully stocked with pool/beach needs, an awesome rec/game room in the lower level and a washer/dryer!
The private beach was wonderful.
My husband loved the grilling options provided.
My only recommendations:
-having extra blankets on site. We even brought a few of our own but could have used some more on site.
-maybe a hose outside to wash the sand off before coming inside?
Overall an amazing vacation and wonderful place to stay! I would highly recommend.

Loved the option of swimming in one of two pools or enjoying the beach. All are walkable from the Chalet. The chalet literally has everything you need available. The location is close to several towns so no shortage of food or entertainment options for when you want a change of scenery. The host Chris was easy to reach and was wonderful. Lots of families with younger kids staying at the surrounding rentals. Would definitely rent again !

This property was perfect for a family get together. The unit was exactly as described, very clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities needed for a fun vacation. The converted garage was an excellent bonus. It gave us room to spread out. The two new pools at the facility were wonderful. We took full advantage of the playgrounds, fishing pond, tennis court and both beaches.

Great family friendly place!
Property was clean and tidy- has space for 8 to sleep including the pull out futon in the garage that’s been converted into a game room. Biggest complaint is only 4 bath towels were provided with space for 8 to sleep, and property backs to a road and is furthest from beach. Will definitely plan to come back! We had a blast!

Vacation near Saint Joseph
We enjoyed this cabin and the area. Saint Joseph is a quaint town, the property the house is on has 2 pools, tennis courts and beach access. It was a nice weekend get away!

Our Stay
The property was nice and clean with an updated bathroom. It’s a little walk to beautiful Lake Michigan. The chalet had everything we needed and we enjoyed our stay. The staircase leading to the chalet needs to be redone. I was worried when going up and down with my infant. Also, quilts on each bed would be nice too.
The shared pool at property was small and outdated, but it looks like they’re building another. I would definitely stay again. Can’t beat the easy access and views of Lake MI.

Nice location
We had 3 adults and 4 kids ages 3-8 on this trip. The location is great, you can walk or drive to 2 beaches. The private beach is smaller and way less crowded with lots of pretty rocks. The public beach is a bit bigger and less rocky with more people. There is a decent playground and tennis courts with rackets and balls. The chalet itself is nice. Maybe needs a little tlc but the bathroom has been updated. Extra blankets, towels, toilet paper, and dish soap would have been nice to have as well as some info on the area like attractions and restaurants.

Great family getaway
We had our 6 year olds, 1 year old, and infant. This property was great! The house was very clean. The bathroom looks updated-very nice with walk in shower so it was great for the kids. The area itself is awesome- the chalets have so much for the kids-fishing pond (although we didn’t catch anything the kids had a blast), pool, beach, playground, tennis courts. The house is located at the very front of the property by the pond which was great for us. There was a lot of room for the kids to play outside. Playground is in walking distance. We drove to the beach and pool. We only left for the big kids and my husband to go on a fishing charter and then we also went to st joe one evening. We loved this property and will return.
The only negative I have:
I would’ve liked to have a map of the property with information before we got there (beach location, parking, etc.).
I also like to have recommendations on local attractions, restaurants, etc when we go somewhere new. Overall GREAT and highly recommend for families.

Perfect getaway
My wife and I felt silly booking a place 30 minutes away from home for when our childhood friends came to visit but it was WORTH IT!
Property was perfect for 4 adults and a 3 year old. Playground for the little one, pool, private beach... Definitely would return.
Only complaint has nothing to do with Chris (whom we rented from) but one day they didn't get the pool opened until 1pm when it should have been open at 10am. Like I said though, not Chris's fault.
My wife and her friend looked up available properties in the area to buy they loved it so much...

Great place
We did a brewery tour in the area and the VRBO location was a great place to stay. The coast is just a short walk away and we were able to see an epic sunset too.

Location is great, just a short walt to the private beach and plenty to keep kids entertained outdoors.
The only shortfalls (and I overlooked these while booking) were no washer/dryer on property - considering this is a beach house (almost) and no dishwasher. These definitely come in handy when you travel with kids and stay more than a night, especially by the beach.
