We have visited Carcassonne every summer for the past 7 years. This was our favorite place to stay. It was perfectly situated for walking into La Cité, as well as getting in and out of town. Beautiful view, gardens, well-equipped, quiet, comfortable, great A/C and internet. Love to come back.

Loved this little gem at the base of the city walls. Our host David was very pleasant and was quick to help with a with a couple of queries. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended the property to friends.

We feel like we struck gold in finding this amazing spot in Carrcasonne! It really is super close to the old Cite, a 5 min walk (if that) up a short path to the main gate. The house is lovely, comfortable and well furnished/equipped. Looks as good or even better than advertised. The yard is simply beautiful with great views of the castle walls and lovely seating areas to relax when you are done exploring the castle. Our kids loved the garden and exploring the castle. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit, and maybe for longer even!!

This is our second stay as we liked it so much last time we had to stay again. David is the perfect host, incredibly helpful and always available to answer any questions by email or text. The property is spacious, spotlessly clean, with a great private terrace, beautiful terraced gardens almost up to the Cite walls and the views are breathtaking. We particularly like the character of the property, which is furnished beautifully with really funky ornaments throughout. The beds are comfortable and there is everything needed to self cater if you do not want to eat out. The property is close to beautiful restaurants, a 15 minute walk up to the Cite (uphill and I walk very slowly!), it is also a 20 minute walk into Le Bastide for shops and the beautiful square to sit, drink coffee and people watch. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again in the future.

Wonderful property with very comfortable furnishings. Modern clean bathrooms. The garden was amazing with a lovely private terrace with table, chairs and sun loungers. Further terraces were shared with 1 other property and had seating at each level. The view of the city ramparts was spectacular.

Great location for visiting Carcassonne old city- 5 minute walk up hill to L'Aude gate. 10-15 minutes flat walking to old bridge ( Pont Vieux) then another 10 -15 minutes to visit the restaurant and cafe area ( Place Carnot) and the train station plus Canal du Midi boat trips.

Staying in this cozy house under the fortress walls is an unforgettable experience! David welcomed us with such a smile and heart - he was a pleasure to communicate with and made our check-in very easy and pleasant! The home offers everything you need for a great stay, but it also has something extra - a wonderful atmosphere. We would like to stay longer in this wonderful place! This accommodation was perfection for the 14th July fireworks. Own garden to enjoy the display right above us. If I were to imagine the quintessential French home in Carcassonne, this is it. Oils not have picked a better home to enjoy Carcassonne. Thank you.

If you want to check out Carcassonne, I highly recommend this house. It has everything you need, and is very stylish with a lot of original character like the floors but bathrooms and kitchen are modern and very pleasant to use. It is just a couple minutes from the castle - with young kids, we were able to come back for naps and it was enjoyable for the adults too since it has a huge yard with views of the remparts. The AC in bedrooms and living room was so useful with the heat. David is a great host; he let us check in early and greeted us to show us the property and give us a map of the area. I only wish I had booked more nights to explore the area like the Montagne Noire or some vineyards

Very nice apartment with a beautiful view of the castle from the garden. It is only a short walk to the castle gate. There is free street parking but it’s luck of the draw to find one close by. Quiet neighborhood with great ambience.

Absolutely incredible. The photos in the listing, while seem too good to be true, are all accurate. You can literally sit in the private garden and stare at the wall of the castle.

Lovely soacious property for 2, but would have been equally good for 4, right under the ramparts of the historic Cité Medievale at Carcassonne. On road parking available and not an issue. Beautiful, serene garden for breakfast, lunches, digestifs and star gazing was the highlight of our stay!

We found the gite online, once we saw the photos of the inside and gardens, we instantly booked 4 nights for myself, my wife, my Mum and her partner. Upon arrival we were not disappointed, it was even better in real life. Well thought out comfortable, homely interiors, everything you need, beautiful well established gardens on 4 levels, each with it's own seating and offering amazing views of the walled city. The gite was literally less than 5 minutes walk to the path that takes you upto the old city and 15 mins walk to Carcassonne town. David was incredibly helpful from start to finish, nothing was a problem. The Gite, Carcassonne and the surrounding area is everything you want and more, we highly recommend this property.

Perfect, perfect, perfect

Communication with David was great from the outset and we a fabulous time at the property. We were met at the Gite and shown around each room, the pictures, although giving a taste of the property, do not do it full justice……it is huge, spotlessly clean and absolutely fantastic. We loved all the beautiful ornaments (especially the cat bedside table) and original decor, the bed was really comfortable and air conditioning welcomed. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more, the sun trap private garden area and other terraces are immaculate and views up to the ramparts amazing. The property is perfectly positioned, 20 minute walk into town, 10 minute up hill walk to the Citè and 5 minutes to the closest shop. We spent our time schmoozing around Carcassonne, walking into town through the park close by, eating fabulous food and drinking great local wine. We took a leisurely boat ride along the canal du midi and people watched in the square. If you are looking for a perfectly positioned property to explore Carcassonne and the local area we do not think you could do any better than this one. Thank you for your hospitality David, we will definitely be back!

Excellent Location

We could not have been in a better place for easy access to the old Medieval city. It was a less than 10 minute walk from the house to La Cité. Uphill of course but very doable. The house had two levels of terraces from which we had a magnificent view of the walls and turrets. It was supplied with everything we needed. We enjoyed our time there!

This property is beautiful. The courtyard is fantastic for lounging, enjoying views of the castle and drinking your favorite drink. We stayed as a family with 2 kids and everyone loved the place. Kids had ample space to run around outside and play inside. The flat was very clean and comfortable. Small grocery store nearby. Perfect location to visit the castle. Absolutely beautiful.
