Very well located in Bastille, minutes to train, restaurants, food and shops. Quiet street, very clean and stocked. Great communication with Richard.

The location of the apartment was perfect for exploring the area. Walking distance to the train station, even with suitcases.
Spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds.
We took a local bus to a most enjoyable lunch at a nearby town.
The English language tour of the Medieval City was essential to understand its rich, layered history.
We had come from Toulouse by train and then left in the other direction for Paris via the regional and fast trains - direct to CDG.

Just returned from a very enjoyable week's stay in this lovely accommodation. In an excellent location within the lower town of Carcassonne, the apartment was quiet, secure, spacious, rustic, very clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. Ten minutes walk from the main square, the apartment is very close to supermarkets, shops and restaurants. In the other direction, the flat is a ten minutes walk to the station and bus stops (for the Cité Médiévale although this is also walkable). I would also highly recommend using the proximity to the station to do day trips to Toulouse, Perpignan or Montpellier. The apartment also had a private terrace with lovely views of the old cathedral and made for a great place to unwind with a local bottle of wine of an evening. Richard was an excellent host and very easy to make contact with before and during our stay. Ceiling fans would be a good investment for those hot summer nights. 10/10 and I would highly recommend booking this place to stay.
Thank you Richard and Helen.

Lovely big apartment in a well renovated historic house. Had everything necessary plus a balcony which looks onto trees and a belltower. Great location for all of Carcassonne. Close to the canal and station. Airport pick up by the owner was a nice extra!

The apartment was in a very good central location for sightseeing, it included everything we needed for a holiday, and was very clean and tidy on arrival. An added benefit was that Raymond the owner picked us up from the airport and gave us a short but informative tour.

Apparemment impecable
Séjour très agréable avec un appartement très propre extrêmement bien équipé hôte très sympathique et à l'écoute. La seule petite difficulté c'était le voisinage pas toujours calme. Mais globalement j'ai été charmée. Merci

Very thoughtful hosts, leaving us bread, milk and butter. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Very comfortable apartment
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, which is very comfortable and well equipped. The apartment has a pleasant balcony, but you do have to go up a flight of narrow stairs to get to it. The location is good, just minutes' walk from the train station.

Comfortable and very tastefully decorated apartment in a superb location.
Raymond is a superb host and has gone to a lot of trouble to make sure that his restoration of this characterful and historic property is first class. It is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. All amenities are provided and the amazing shower deserves a mention of it's own! The balcony is also a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or two. The location is superb. You are a short walk away from shops, restaurants, markets, the train station and the Canal Du Midi. It is in the heart of town through so be aware that it can get noisy at times, especially if you need to have the windows open as we did in the middle of the heatwave. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely stay in Carcassonne Nov 2017
Great welcome from Raymond, pick up from the airport, tour and welcome pack much appreciated. Lovely apartment, has everything you need. Coffee machine is Dolce Gusto you need to take the coffee pods. Also take a few CD's if likely to have a night in, were a few in the apartment but a bit limited/ old films.Highlight was Carcassonne Cite by day when a bit busier (do the castle tour 9 euros, European citizens under 25 go free, need proof of age), and at night very atmospheric but quiet not much was open but still had a lovely meal. Try the cassoulette anywhere. Good Saturday food market in Place Carnot centre of town. Celt pub good pub vibe, sky sports good mix of locals and tourists.Trip to Limoux 1 euro train or bus from the strain station nice but very quiet. Airport shuttle from the train station 5 euros each from stop in front of the station, times linked to flight times. Le bistrot restaurant near the train station good food, value and choice excellent for last meal before flight, (only small cafe at the airport and no restaurants nearby). November was a bit too quiet and cold would suggest spring or late summer if planning a visit. The Lawrence family.

Great place to stay - Comfortable, good location, well-looked after
Location is grand, just a stagger to the main square, station and canal. Well equipped and maintained and a comfortable base for a visit. Small price to pay is a bit of noise (church bells and street sounds) but can't expect anything else of a town centre flat. The wee terrace seals the deal.

It was a pleasant surprise to be picked up from the airport and given a ten minute tour of Carcassonne. Raymond gave us a lot of useful information about getting to the town centre and other useful places. Also a brief history of the building we were staying in. We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped and we had a welcome pack of bread, wine and milk which was much appreciated. The visitors book gives an useful insight into places to visit and restaurants to eat at. If you enjoy reading I do recommend Labyrinth by Kate Mosse which is set in the Medieval city of Carcassonne, before your holiday. If you don't get to the tourist information place ; there are plenty of leaflets in the apartment. It is in a very central position, close to the market square, station and buses not longer than 10-15minute walk. There lots of boutique type shops. There's a Carrefour and mono prix close by for groceries and also boulangiers and pattiesiers. In the market square there are plenty of places to eat.

Excellent apartments in a superb location
We really enjoyed Carcassone and the comfort and location of these apartments. Raymond the owner was very helpful, picking us up at the airport and showing us around. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped.Beds very comfortable too. The shower is particularly good with extra water jets . We enjoyed the spacious roof terrace where we downed some of the local wine! The shops , restaurants and canal de midi are less than 10 mins walk and La cite about 25 mins. We will be back!

An ideal apartment for two couples. Full of character, well equipped and in a great location.
Spent a fabulous week in this lovely apartment in the heart of Carcassone. The apartment itself is spacious, well equipped, beautifully restored and has the bonus of an outside terrace. It enjoys a great location being close to the local square and an easy walk takes you to the medieval city with it's many shops, restaurants and spectacular views. Being picked up from the airport was great and Raymond was readily available for any help or advice. A week wasn't long enough to explore fully and I would happily return and would recommend this beautiful apartment to friends and family

Great accomodation, perfect location
We stayed in this charming apartment for 4 nights in July 2015. Ray met us and took us to the apartment and gave us a tour of the old town, which has plenty of bars, restaurants and other amenities. The apartment is perfectly located, and only a 10 minute walk to the medieval town. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished throughout, clean and ideal for a getaway. The terrace on the top floor is ideal for a nice glass of wine in the evening and watching the sun go down. I would give the apartment (and the owners), the highest recommendation there is and will be staying again the next time we visit the city.

Superb
Just returned from a 5 day stay at these apartments. Really impressed. Very clean, comfortable, with all mod cons. Very well furnished with a excellent shower. Perfect location close to Carcassonne centre and rail station. Certainly will return. Many thanks Raymond for being such a pleasant and helpful host.

Very good apartment
We had a lovely stay in Granache apartment, it's handy for the local restaurants & the railway station and it's well equipped. It has a great shower! Also a nice walk to the old city from here. Raymond & Julie were great hosts & there's loads of information about what to do & where to go. The only slight downside is the staircase up to the balcony is a bit difficult to negotiate with trays of food, but it is an added bonus having a balcony. We would recommend this apartment

Fantastic apartment
We had a wonderful time in Carcassonne, made all the more enjoyable by the welcome from Raymond and the comfortable and airy apartment we stayed in. The décor is very tasteful and the place was lovely and clean. A few minutes walk from the train station, Canal du Midi and Place Carnot. It was a little further from La Cité but the walk there was still manageable with children. Would highly recommend.

a spring holiday
We stayed in Les Bottes Cachees at the start of April, and it was a perfect location for a visit to Carcasonne and surrounding area. Although it is in easy walking distance of all of Carcasonne, the old and the new(er), it was only a few minutes drive away from the airport and other major roads out into the countryside. Raymond was extremely helpful, meeting us at the airport, and allowing me to follow him (in a hire car) to the apartment, which was exactly as shown on the website. My (adult) son slept on the sofa bed, and found it to be comfortable and very easy to convert. As it was only the start of April the sun only remained on the terrace until late morning, but it was a very pleasant place to sit at all times of the day. One word of caution would be the stairs, which were steep, and not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties-but fine for us. I would definitely recommend this apartment, for its facilities, location and helpful owner!

Great Apartment, Great Owners
Couldn't have asked for more from an apartment and the owners, Raymond picked us up on Friday from the airport and took us to the apartment via the scenic route in order for us to see an amazing view of The Cite and to find our bearings.
The apartment was clean, spacious and had everything you could ask for from a self catering apartment. No more than 2-3 minutes from the center of town and about 15 minutes from the Cite.
Highly recommended on all counts.

Excellent Carcassonne base
Stayed for a long weekend at end of October - 2 adults and children 17 and 12. Very comfortable apartment with all you could need for a short break. Comfortable beds, modern kitchen and bathroom, etc. On quiet back street (except for early morning rubbish collections - but that's not the apartment's fault), 5 minute stroll from main Carcassonne square, shops, bars, restaurants etc. Raymond (owner) collected us from airport and gave us a quick overview of what's where in the town and Cite, which was both useful and accurate! Our first visit to Carcassonne: we'll be back and, if available, we'll come back to this apartment.
P.S. Steep stairs, so not suitable for elderly, any disabilities or maybe very young children.
