Overall, a little more rustic than expected. Location is awesome, lake views and sunsets excellent. Beds comfortable, and kitchen well stocked with all the things you need. Lots of good places nearby to eat and drink. Excellent breweries, and good restaurants. Easy to get to Burlington waterfront, and mountain views at Stowe.

Perfect place to stay a few days at the lake. Close to many spots to go. We enjoyed our time there with our kids. Plenty of space to play inside in case if rain. Can only recommend the place.

I rented this cabin because of its lakeside location and the fact that it offered the best bargain on VRBO in northwest Vermont at the time. There are no material errors in the description on VRBO and It served our purpose as a base for day trips. As others have observed, the location provides convenient access to St. Albans and Burlington, while providing more scenic views. It also lacks the traffic and noise found in those locations and thus is quite quiet, at least at the time of our rental. However, prospective renters should keep in mind that it is advertised as a fishing cabin, not a resort cabin.
The bedroom in the loft is spacious with a very comfortable bed. It was wonderful to lie there in the mornings watching the sky brighten through the windows and the skylight and listening to the geese on the lake. There are ample dresser drawers, but no closet space in the loft bedroom. Only the small bedroom on the main level has a closet in which clothes can be hung. There also are several coat hooks next to the cabin entrance door. The small bedroom on the main level is the only room with a door that can provide privacy from the rest of the cabin. Not an issue for us, but it may be a consideration for others. The "sleeps 6" description refers to these two bedrooms plus a sofa on the main level that can be converted into a bed.
The heating system worked well everywhere but the small bedroom on the main level, which was not an issue for us because we used it only for storage.
The bathroom was well-stocked with towels and most other supplies, but it is quite tiny with a very small sink.
Likewise, the kitchen is small with little counter space, but it was well-stocked with utensils and an impressive array of spices and grilling seasonings. There is an outdoor grill, although we did not use it. The kitchen faucet provided both hot and cold water after a short delay, but it had a tendency to initially squirt water in unexpected directions when turned on. The refrigerator was noisier than average, but the noise did not disturb our sleep in the loft.
The dining table is spacious and in good condition with comfortable chairs.
The other part of the main level contains two sofas and an entertainment cabinet with a TV. The sofas provide little to no lumbar support, but one can always sit on the dining chairs to watch TV or read. I found the TV audio difficult to understand, but the channel selection was impressive.

The cabin is well-placed with a lower-level deck looking at Lake Champlain and the island across the waters (so there is lots to look at). I stayed with my husband who loves to see fall color in VT. While the main meal we cooked was breakfast, we found all the kitchen tools we needed - bottle opener, toaster, coffee maker, pots/ pans... The cabin heats up rapidly with the wood stove. We stayed in the master bedroom up in the loft. The siting of the cabin on the lake really added to our enjoyment of vacation. I had a couple of questions for the host and he was immediately responsive and very helpful.

Looking for a peaceful getaway with amazing views? You can find it here. The well-appointed cabin is situated on the St. Alban's Bay branch of Lake Champlain and features everything you could want in a relaxing vacation - a kitchen with all the tools you could need to cook simple meals, bbq grill, Adirondack chairs on the covered concrete patio area right above the lake, and best of all, a king-sized bed in the upstairs sleeping area. Great WiFi, a Roku for streaming options, and it is a 10-minute trip to downtown St. Alban's which has grocery stores, restaurants, a movie theater, etc. We visited on a busy holiday weekend, and although every nearby cabin was occupied, the neighborhood goes totally silent by 10 PM and stays that way well into the morning. The bay features a variety of birds - we saw a bald eagle our first morning, and there is a great blue heron who hangs out by the dock, fishing - and the sunset is simply stunning. The only note for light sleepers who need a dark room - the upstairs bedroom has curtains but no shades, meaning privacy but early morning light as the sun rises - bring an eye mask if you must have it dark to stay asleep. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Sunsets were beautiful and Ian was great with answering all our questions.
The water was low due to the heat wave/drought which was a bummer, but nothing can be done about that. (No one can control mother nature).
Property was a quiet location. It was easy to get to and the town wasn't far.
Ian was very helpful and quick to respond.

Lovely place on the lake
We never managed to see sunsets, but sunrises and stars at night were awesome. The Bass Cabin is comfortable, and we had pretty much everything we needed for making breakfasts and dinner, including a nice selection of spices. There was a yoga mat and binoculars, which were added pluses. The water is very soft, so we appreciated the bottled water being available. The downstairs bed is short for someone really tall (it is not a Murphy bed), but otherwise comfortable. Upstairs bed is king size and comfortable. If you arrive at night, bring a flashlight. Internet service at the cabin was reliable. We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay here. Enjoyed seeing some wildlife and the view of the lake and beautiful sunsets. Only 30- 40 minutes to Burlington, Vt. Good restuarants and cruises on Lake Champlain. Also 10 minutes from the cabin is the charming town of St. Albans. Nice coffee shops and Mimmo's Pizzeria. Really liked the whole experience. Ian answers questions quickly.

Our stay at this cabin was perfect. The cabin was clean. The beds were comfortable. This area was quiet. The fishing off the dock right off the back patio was great.

The views can’t be beat!
The sunset views from this home were spectacular. We had a fun time fishing off the dock. The place was very clean and there were lots of small touches that made it feel homey. The beds were comfortable. We come visit my sister most every summer and overall this was one of the best camps we’ve stayed in.

Beautiful views & excellent communication!
We loved our stay at this lakefront cabin! The views of the lake were stunning, and we enjoyed watching the sun rise/set each day. Amazing wifi, and excellent communication with the owner! He responded within minutes to our questions. The house could have been a little cleaner, but it didn't dampen our stay. We loved that the town of St. Alban's was so close, and it wasn't a far drive to Burlington or any other sights. Overall, we loved our stay!
