About this cottage rental
Impeccably maintained cottage with a cozy, but open floor plan that sits on large plot of land that is perfect for campfires, lawn games and BBQs. It can sleep 6 comfortably (3 bedrooms that sleep 5 with an additional day bed in the den). There are many windows to allow natural light and there is a large wraparound deck that is partially shaded by pine trees and has a grill, deck chairs and an umbrella table and chairs for outdoor meals. We also have a garage that allows for storage of bikes, etc. The rental includes access to a sandy beach, a quick 2 minute walk away, as well as 2 Kayaks for your use. We are only 10 minutes from St. Albans, Vermont with a great downtown and restaurants as well as a golf course. The Sports Complex in town has tennis and pickleball courts, a playground and fitness center. Hard'ack Recreation Area hosts hiking trails, disc golf and a public swimming pool. The location is convenient to Burlington, Stowe and Montreal. It is also within just a few miles of town and state parks that are on Lake Champlain. Amenities Include: Washer/Dryer, WIFI, Heat/AC, Propane Grill, Fire Pit, 2 Kayaks, Badminton Court, fire pit, and Smart TV The cottage is located in a quiet but friendly community of 20 cottages called The Pines where most of the owners are second or 3rd generation owners. Our property is adjacent to common land that includes a volleyball court and softball field. This is a hidden gem, perfect for disconnecting from everyday life and spending quality time with family and friends. Located on a private dirt road with little traffic making it an ideal spot for children. We ask all guests to be respectful of the property and the neighbors during their stay. This property has been in our family and we have spent summers here for 70 years. Several years ago we purchased a second cottage in the Pines and live there. As a result we are very close by if there are questions or issues. We look forward to sharing our property and the wonderful Pines community with you!

Just wrapped up our second stay at the cottage. We visited for the first time last summer and wanted to come back again this year. And just like last year, we didn't want to leave! Kevin, Joanne, and Katherine are always so kind and welcoming and we look forward to coming back again next summer! -Matt, Rose, Molly (7), Dougie (5), and Joey (3).

This warm and welcoming cottage was set in a remote area surround by a wooded area and a short walking distance to the tranquil waters. The house was exactly as expected - clean, quaint, accommodating and cozy. Kevin, Joanie and Katherine were so kind and returned inquiries right away. Highly recommend!

I have read about Northeastern “camps” but this was my first experience. Rustic but comfy and impossibly Americana, this camp was a delightful surprise. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked (thanks for the s’mores fixings), plenty of linens and a nice Lounge area with TV if desired. We were in town for a family event wedding which required a lot of travel. Unwinding at the camp meant cornhole competitions, campfires and relaxing in the autumn sunshine. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of heaven with us.

We spent the week at The Pines and didn't want to leave. We could of stayed another week, easy! The McGinns were fantastic hosts and their cozy, comfortable camp was very well stocked with all the amenities. Some of the highlights for our young family were 1) exploring the waterfall at nearby Mill River 2) beach access on Lake Champlain for swimming and sunsets 3) the beautiful deck overlooking the expansive yard and softball field 4) roasting s'mores in the fire pit and 5) the water park and world class frisbee golf only 45 min away at Smugglers Notch Resort in Jeffersonville, VT. We hope to be back next summer!

In Vermont they call it a “camp.” Well, hands down this is the most comfortable “camp” we’ve ever stayed in. We arrived on a hot 90 degree day and the “camp,” with its air conditioning, was a welcome respite from the heat. After the first day, the heat broke and we used the 3 ceiling fans and opened all the windows, which let a beautiful breeze flow through. We spent much of our time on the “L” shaped deck. It’s complete with a view of the lake between other cottages, a wonderful grill and comfortable seating, including table and chairs for eating outdoors. The tall pine trees provide shelter and just the right amounts of sun and shade can be found on the deck at all times.
The cottage is perfectly appointed, spotlessly clean, and meticulously maintained. You can’t help but get swept up in enjoying the basic joys of summer and feel the generations of love left in this cottage by its owners. It made for the perfect backdrop to celebrate our grand-daughter’s 5th birthday and it was a great place to reconnect with our family, barbecue, play home-run wiffle ball derby in the field, enjoy games at the oak table at night, sit around the fire and roast marshmallows, or simply read a book. We also took a ferry ride to Burton’s Island and enjoyed the St. Albans rail trail on our bike (highly recommended).
Don’t over pack, as everything you could possibly need is there. There is a very large grassy field in the backyard that belongs to the community, and was a great place for our grandkids to play and for our family to enjoy some games. And as peaceful a place as it is to get away from it all, if you are looking for something to do, St. Albans and the magic of Lake Champlain, and all it has to offer, are nearby.

My Children and I stayed at this cottage at The Pines for a week and It was lovely. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. The Cottage was so quaint, clean and well equipped, every little detail was thought of. Stores and restaurants are all within a short drive from the property. The sunsets on the lake beach were just one of the many highlights we enjoyed. Every second of our stay was perfect! Thank you.

Wonderful vacation spot - the camp was all we could ask for while spending a relaxing week with family in Vermont. The camp was extremely well appointed - everything you would need they had, and more! Enjoyed relaxing on the deck, beds were very comfortable and lots to do in the nearby town of St. Albans and surrounding state parks. Hope to be back soon!

Fantastic rental for families!
Overall great experience on the rental. For people looking for a "cabin feel" while still having all of the nicer comfort features (Air Conditioning, Washer, Dryer, propane grill etc) this is the place to go. Quiet neighborhood, quick walk to the beach, and massive wrap around deck. Lots of things to do in the region. It was a great place for our family (two kids under 6). Owners were extremely helpful and did a great job making the property accommodating.
As a side note, it was a heatwave (90+ Degrees most of our trip and the AC kept the cabin very comfortable).

Fantastic property
My family and I absolutely fell in love with this property upon arrival. The owners live nearby and greeted us warmly. They also provided a folder that had a number if helpful suggestions for local restaurants. We would book another stay at this property when returning to the area. It was an all around fantastic experience!

Our stay was truly incredible, the house is like a little slice of peace tucked away from the rest of the world. Anything you may need they already have for you, or notes on where to find it. Also the entire family that owns the property is extremely nice and helpful! Trying to stay there again in the future
