Location and the staff were excellent. Great breakfast
Nothing really

This guesthouse is a gem. The rooms are cosy, comfortable and stylish. The house, the furniture, even the floors and the ceiling breathe the athmosphere of ancient navy battles.
Breakfast is freshly cooked by Clive, and Maria will make sure that you get everything you need before you start your hike on the south-west coast path. Oh, en Lynton and Lynmouth are very pittoresque and definitely worth a visit or even a longer stay.

The location was excellent and the breakfast was delicious.

Friendly host, cleanliness and excellent breakfast menu
Unfortunately the otherwise very good Guest House was sadly let down by the standard of my small room and tiny private bathroom which is in serious need of updating and refurbishment (broken door lock, shower control bar loose, broken boarding to side of sink etc). For the high rate paid I expected better, which is a shame as I suspect all other rooms may be of a higher standard and all other aspects of my stay were very good.

Gave them a call as I was having difficulty finding the property and they had a pot of tea ready when I arrived. Lovely breakfast

Right in the centre, delicious breakfast and friendly owners
Scaffolding up as they are fixing the roof but not an issue

It had history, and was very homely.
Nothing.

The owner was very helpful in telling us about local information. She saw to it we were comfortable. Her facilities were well kept and the food was very good.
There was nothing I did not like.

Breakfast, location, hosts
Door knob to room was loose. This took a little getting used to. As my bathroom was not en suite I had to be careful not to lock myself out.

Excellent location on the heart of Lynton. Convenient parking. Beautiful old building full of character and wonderful owners. Friendly and helpful. Very tasty breakfast to set me on my way
My room was not en suite but may well be when I go again

I was locked out after arriving at 8.30pm
I had sent message earlier to say I was still coming but when I arrived I got an email telling me to go and stay at the Crown Hotel
The receptionist at the Crown Hotel told me that she had sent clients to the B&B
a short time before me and they got a room
If you check emails between B&B and
myself you will see that I replied to say
I was still coming.
I am very disappointed, and would like to be compensated for the night I was shut out and had to pay for the Crown Hotel
Sincerely
Ethel Young

Proper home from home - warmly greeted by owner and lovely dog! Nothing was too much trouble and the focus was very much on a personal touch. Breakfast was lovely too.

The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The bed and bedding was super comfortable. The front garden was a lovely space to sit with the dogs and a cuppa.
Breakfast was delicious and lots of variety to choose from upon arrival.
Maria and Clive (hosts) were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly.
The location is fab, close to Lynmouth and other surrounding attractions. I'd definitely return! Thank you!

Owners were really nice and I spoke to Maria extensively in the morning over breakfast (which itself was very good!) The room was tidy and clean - the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed several cups of tea and felt at home in my room.
Bathroom could do with some work (this was discussed with Maria in the morning) Perhaps some blackout curtains for the room would be a good idea?

Superb breakfast, excellent location, best night's sleep for ages, really comfortable bed. Clive and Maria were wonderful, welcoming hosts, very helpful. The cleanliness of the house and our room was excellent. A cafetiere and REAL coffee in our room a nice touch.
We couldn't fault our stay in any way.

Great breakfast, very welcoming owners, central location for visiting Lynton or as a night stop along the SWCP.

Maria is an absolute delight! She is always engaging with the guests trying to make them feel at home, at least that's what it felt like to me. The house is cozy and warm, and the pets are around the house, so it does feel like another day with the family. The breakfast was delicious and listening to the story of the house was wonderful.
I wish I had and en-suite bedroom, didn't feel comfortable going in and out of the room to go to the bathroom, but I think the other rooms are en-suite.
