We have stayed in many holiday lets over the years. The owners have thought of everything we couldn’t find anything that we didn’t want. It’s advertised for 2 cars can park you can only get one medium size car on the drive but the park with parking is only a short walk away. The house is extremely clean. The location isnt the centre of the Isle of Wight which we knew before coming this didn’t bother us as we had a vehicle but there is a bus stop just across the road. The house didn’t come with a welcome pack to get you started but they a village shop approximately 3 minute walk away. We will definitely be back.

A very comfortable house ideal for our group of friends. The kitchen got full approval from the cooks in our party once they had mastered the oven controls, with a larger fridge being the only thing on their wish list, and there was plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. We particularly appreciated the ground floor layout, with the kitchen opening to the dining area which was also open to the living room meaning that those cooking were not isolated from the rest of the group. There are 3 showers but not enough water pressure to run them all at the same time and the ensuite bathroom suffered from taps running almost dry at times, which could be a little inconvenient. The on-site parking was tight for our 2 longer than average cars, but was manageable with careful manoeuvring. St Helens is a very pleasant village with a lively pub and a very well-stocked open-all-hours shop within a very short walk, and a great walk around the harbour and beach front. All together a great house for us and we would have no hesitation in returning in future.

Well equipped family house. Stairgate especially useful as was playground across the road and local corner shop 2 minute walk. Very spacious master bedroom with ensuite but some of the beds could do with mattress toppers to improve comfort and the kitchen tap was dripping constantly wasting water , but despite this, a very pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was well equipped and comfortable. There was a very large Tesco not too far away and the property was conveniently situated for visiting all parts of the Island. The driveway was quite small but adequate for two cars. Overall very pleasing.

Firstly, I will always be booking our annual trip to the Isle of Wight through Island holiday homes. We always extend our stay with an early ferry start and a late ferry home, this year the weather wasn’t great so a phone call from the agents to say the property was ready early was fantastic. The house itself was a great size for two families with space to spread out and for teenagers to have some ‘time out’. I have never stayed anywhere that is so well equipped kitchen wise either. The road outside is not busy and the parking worked for two large cars. There are great beaches within walking distance and it’s just a short hop to the corner shop that is open late for supplies. We would all highly recommend Helms House.

Ideal house in an ideal location. Close to beach, supermarket and in walking distance of a pub, that offers wonderful food. Rooms are well sized. Easily accommodated a party of seven. All utilities and accessories for a comfortable stay were provided. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great base for a family holiday
Helms House is set in a lovely village location perfect for beautiful local walks including the Duver beach and visits around the island. The house has a homely feel and is well equipped with a pretty self contained garden safe for children. The road outside the house is quite busy at times but not a noise issue though better to back in so that exiting is safer.

Fantastic family home
What a fantastic house to stay in with a family. It had everything we could possibly need and was in the most perfect location, walking distance to St Helens / The Duver for great beach days with our two year old and right in the centre of St Helens by the pub and playpark.
