A great property spoilt by lack of maintenance and a host that was less than helpful

It was spacious and near to the town

Too many issues needed attention - the property had not been cleaned to acceptable standard - the bed side cabinet collapsed and had dirt and cobwebs behind - oven dirty with grease and food deposits on door - Tv did not work - toilet brush disgusting - bathroom fan not working - the Host didn’t turn up for a meeting where promised to visit 10.30am - very unhappy with this given we had stayed in to meet him . I wanted to have contact with the owners but he said that was not possible and clearly didn’t want the owners involved - my motive was that I wanted to make sure they were aware of the problems !

Great location and impressive property let down by some easy to remedy maintenance issues.

Large bedrooms, lots of light, all bedrooms ensuites and fabulous location

The property appeared to lack routine maintenance and some small things were lacking eg blocked shower drain, no dish washing liquid, faulty faucet in kitchen, extremely stiff faucet in bedroom and main bedroom ensuite shower head blocked with limescale. To their credit the property management company were quick to respond to the blocked drain.

Superb

Stylish house with high quality furniture, fixtures and fittings. Very centrally located.

Nothing to dislike as such but may not be so good for elderly visitors as the staircase is quite steep and the Neff hob, while very smart to look at, is fiddly to operate.

Disappointed

The accomodation

Cleanliness especially Kitchen, cutlery, saucepans oven and oven tray needed a good clean, large fryingpan not compatible for Hob, 2 broken wineglasses in cupboard, kettle needed de-scaling, sink overflow hole in en-suite had mildew around it. Property looked amazing, however it needed a good clean and that spoiled it for us.

Renovated period property with lots of internal space and big rooms.

Recently renovated to a high standard and really well laid out. Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need. Lots of space inside, never felt crammed in. Is in a great location to explore the town, and has a very handily placed chip shop just up the road.

Only issue is lack of parking outside the property, this is detailed when booking, so it isn't a surprise, it's just an inconvenience. There is space to drop off and pick people up, and you can park in the local car park for a week for £28 or something like that if you have a larger car.

A relaxing stay in a top notch house in a brilliant location.

The location was excellent for town visits and walks and the property is in a great area for National Trust and beaches. Holt is a gorgeous little town with fab pubs, restaurants and shops and we didn't need to travel more than half an hour for all of our day visits. The rooms were really spacious and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. Lots of storage and wardrobe space and everything was immaculate. The showers were excellent and things were in place to cook a good meal. Well done. A brilliantly converted space with lovely bright rooms and big windows for ventilation. Bonus having a utility room with a washer dryer too. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, although if you don't like an upside type house, where the lounge and kitchen is on the 2nd floor, perhaps this isn't for you. We loved it though.

It would have been good to have a couch or two on the mezzanine to relax more comfortably on. It seemed the space could have been slightly better utilised, but it may have been because the place was quite new and not yet totally 'populated'. The lounge could also have done with another big couch, as there was only just enough space for 4 of us comfortably with an upright chair for a 5th person and as it's for 6 people, there would be a struggle to all watch a film together or sitting to chat. Pint glasses are always useful for soft drinks and beer too, so this would be a nice addition. The bin outside wasn't emptied often enough for two properties and so it was overflowing with no space to recycle. Other than those suggestions, we had a very relaxing and luxury stay.

Lovely stay at the Old Antique Shop

Perfectly positioned on a quiet street in the centre of Holt this apartment was spacious and clean. We had a very enjoyable time using it as a base to explore the region. Two large double bedrooms and one smaller bedroom, each had an en-suite bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space.

Shame it didn’t have a garden or a parking space.
