Due to the central Texas drought, the lake has receded and is no longer in front of the home. Guests can walk to the lake shore (~100 yds) or travel the 12 miles to Inks Lake or Lake LBJ which are constant-level lakes.
This gorgeous two-level home is loaded with superb amenities, including a kayak, deck, firepit, patio with a gas grill, and even central air-conditioning for hot-weather guests. This oasis of a home is the perfect place to truly disconnect from the world as it does not have internet. Downstairs, the spacious living area boasts high, vaulted ceilings, burnished floors, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lake and countryside, and a large TV to enjoy your favorite DVD movies and Nintendo 64 games. Spend the day at the beach, then come home to get creative in the full kitchen - just shop for your ingredients to take advantage of the kitchen's cookware, appliances, and expansive countertops to turn out tonight's masterpiece. You and the kids will love baking cookies in the double oven! The washer/dryer will take care of those dirty hiking clothes, so you can afford to pack light for your trip.
Enjoy alfresco meals out on the backyard patio while the little ones romp around. You'll find two bedrooms downstairs, the main with access to the deck and an en suite bathroom, and the second bedroom with a small en suite bath of its own. Upstairs, you'll find a spacious sitting area just off the stairs, with a comfy sofa perfect for catching up on your latest novel. The first bedroom has a small reading nook by the window, while the second features a trundle bed, a bunk, an en suite bathroom, and a nook
This home enjoys a perfect location right on the banks of Lake Buchanan, the largest of the Highland lakes and the farthest from Austin, making it the least crowded. Take the boat out to go fishing, swim off the shores, or explore the area with a good hike. Lake LBJ is also nearby and is a constant-level lake. You'll have plenty of great restaurants nearby whenever you need a cooking break. Inks Lake State Park is only 13 miles south, with many terrific outdoor activities, like golfing, hiking, and exploring the granite hills.

We had a great time in this home. We had a group of kids between the ages of 1 and 7 and all had a great time. The home is well supplied with towels, bedding, kitchen supplies. It was a short drive to the lake/state park. We really enjoyed it.

The layout of the property is workable. Its a little odd to being staying in the front bedroom witht the half bath connected. Everyone used that restroom throughout our stay. Disappointed to not have paper towels or dishwasher soap upon arrival. Also, gas grill with empty propane. Luckily, we did bring some for the crab boil we planned. Calling the property waterfront is also a little misleading. It's great to have the view, but it is not easily accessible. Overall, great weeekend with friends.

Being a newly blended family .. where we married in our 40’s - with a total of 7 children .. ranging in age from 8 to 24 . It’s hard to have space to enjoy each others company .. we can do that here ! & we will hopefully , be back soon !!

House was perfect for our family vacation! Hopefully we can stay again in the future when the lake is full!!

Loved the house and location. Internet access would be great to have.

Great common area and very convenient bedrooms and bathrooms. Kids (0-5yo) loved it and we enjoys the sunrises and sunsets over the lake with the giant window in the living room. Would definitely want to come back! We even accidentally left a blanket from our 2yo and they made sure we got it back.

Roomy home with Texas decor. Very clean with a large kitchen with 2 refrigerators. Close to hiking at numerous state parks, wineries and Fredericksburg. Beds were comfortable and numerous with quality bedding.

It was a beautiful home. However, it is supposed to be on the lake, and there was no water within 1/2 a mile due to the extremely low lake levels (not their fault). However, it advertised a hot tub, but the hot tub was drained and not usable, and that was one of the reasons we chose this place. I was disappointed with that. However, there were plenty of places to lay your head, with an abundance of pillows and blankets. If you are a coffee drinker, be sure to bring your own. They offered a tiny bag of coffee, not quite enough to make 1/2 a pot.

The was spacious and clean. The jacuzzi was clean and the temp was just right. Manager was quick to respond to one of our questions. However, the water was so close in the pictures but so far away when got there it was very disappointing we weren't told the water was that far down. Only other things needing improvement is cookware and cooking utensils. There is plenty of silverware, plates and glasses though. Lat but not least the pressure in the kitchen sink was very low and the gas burners when turned on at the highest was about a med high on a regular stove top. It took much longer to cook the normal. With that said we would stay there again we just want to point out a few things that need attention to improve the travelers stay.

We were there for a girls weekend and we were not disappointed. This place is roomy, cozy and a perfect place to relax.

We loved this place and want to make this a yearly birthday celebration here

Thanks for letting us stay. Had so much fun.

ONLY downfall to this place was the lake level being low and having to find water at other spots. Other than that, very clean and nice place.
4.7
Stayed here for the Spartan Race. Great place, good layout, kids enjoyed the hot-tub. No complaints at all.
4.7
There was no water in the lake at the house. There were no cleaning supplies, so we could not use the dishwasher or the washing machine. If something was spilled on the floor we were not able to clean it properly. There was not a dust pan, so it was difficult to sweep and clean the floor.
4.7
Well equipped house in remote setting with gorgeous bluebonnets all around the property at spring break.
Location is remote. Lake Buchanan level is down, so that the lakefront is distant. WiFi is not available contrary to confusing language on listing.
4.7
Property is great and with a big outdoor space in a quiet neighborhood. Wonderful for our family to run around and have outdoor fun. Grocery stores, restaurants, and other outings are about 20 -30 minutes away so plan accordingly. We loved hiking at Inks state park and the Longhorn caverns!

Read the listing close… this property has no internet, WiFi. We felt the listing didn’t make this clear enough.

Overall a nice home, very spacious. Wish there were curtains or blinds in livingroom and dining room because if you have the lights on at night anyone can see in and there are neighbors on both sides of the home, not too close but if someone is walking around outside there’s not much privacy or security. Lake water level is very low but you can see the water in the distance. Overall would recommend.

Great experience

Spacious home decorated with cute Texas decor throughout. Very clean. There is one kitchen drawer that must be possessed because it will not stay closed. ‘‘Twas a friendly ghost though as we endured no other mischief.
Sadly the water level is currently so low, the waterfront in nonexistent. There is a boat ramp very close by but if you don’t have a boat, the water is pretty much unusable. Annual vacay not so good for us this year because of the low water level.
4.7
Great place to stay if they would maintain the yard, at least a couple of feet around the patio, back yard, and walk paths. I couldn’t brag enough about this property if it wasn’t for the yard. They expect you to take the garbage to the road, which would be fine if the grass wasn’t between waist and chest high and get all over your clothes. If there is a reason for not mowing, at least mow the paths. If they promise to have the yard maintained before your stay, I highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

The house was great and accommodated all 11 of us comfortably. We were disappointed in the lake level and didn't realize how low it would be when it is 75% full.
4.7
I loved that it was so clean and that the AC worked well. We felt safe and secure. Close to some good eats. Wish there was a vacuum cleaner to use as we always like to tidy up just a bit before we leave as we want to stay again. We will definitely stay again.

The house was decorated in a Texas theme which was cute. We were very disappointed in the location as the description states waterfront. The water was about a mile hike to the water edge. This trek was not easy for 2 toddlers and 2 senior citizens. So the advertised kayaking was out of the question and it stated there was an outdoor grill so we brought things to grill, however there was no grill. We did travel to the nearby Black Rock Park to swim, but it was also a long walk. Inks lake proved to be a savior as there were places for the kids to swim, so not all was lost. The place was clean, but we did find a pair of underwear that may have been left by a previous visitor..
4.7
Very nice home, it was clean for the most part. Only found some unpleasant old undergarments from a previous guest behind a night stand when going to charge a phone. The rest of the inside of the house was clean, very roomy and with everything you need. The lake levels are so low, therefore unable to enjoy the water from the property. The hot tub was dirty. I would overlook all those things and give it a 5 star review, except for the exterminator visit. I don’t understand why the exterminator needed to provide services while we were there. He just keyed in the code, did not knock and let himself in only yelling “exterminator“. Very unprofessional from him and the property management.
4.7
We enjoyed gathering as family here. Unfortunately, the lake level was so low that no water activities could be experienced without a considerable hike or driving to other parks.
4.7
Nice house with comfortable furniture. Very clean on arrival and air conditioning worked well even on 100 degree days
4.7
The house was the perfect size for our family of 11 people--5 adults and 6 children. Disappointing, though, was how low the water level was of Lake Buchanan. The exposed beach was sharp with jagged pebbles and made walking on it without watersheds painful. It was also difficult to secure a tarp on the rocky beach. In terms of walking, we literally could walk from one side of the cove to the other. This made renting a boat a little tricky as well..
Make sure to bring extras for your stay if you are planning on cooking your meals. You'll need your own spices (including salt and pepper), aluminum foil and storage bags. The kitchen could greatly benefit from more tea towels (there are only two) and extra bowls for serving, which were very hodge-lodge. There were lots of silverware and plates/bowls which was nice for our large group.

Enjoyed the large house right on the lake.

Everything lived up to our expectations. Spacious house and plenty of beds for large groups especially those with singles or children. two rooms for couples and the rest for individuals upstairs. lots of lounging space. I think it would’ve been even more enjoyable in the summer when it was warmer with outdoor activities as we were there during winter in February for a three day weekend so didn’t do a lot outside except went on a cave tour at longhorn cavern state park just 20 min away. Played games and lots of movies to watch. Would highly recommend this house.
