Location was nice.

We loved the layout, the pool, and the hot tub. The tvs did not work in any bedroom, the carpet and walls needed some TLC, and the kitchen has sparse utensils, dirty silverware. The hot tub seemed to not stay warm. Most sad was the TV situation. Not very relaxing in the evenings. Loved the decks and washer and dryer. The one bedroom has a hole in the corner wall, and looked as if it was black mold, my mother refused to sleep in there. All in all, love obx, will probably not stay in this home again.

Lots of things wrong with the property. Used older pictures on the advertisement. House was full of black mold, toilet that didn't flush, lots of broken knobs and dirty walls. Don't recommend.

Overall the house was great ! Loved the pool ! The outside furniture was broke except the 2 chairs on the deck looking over the pool and the pool furniture was awesome !! The upper deck was really spongy 😔 The real downfall was how far it was to the ocean !

The location was great, the house was well laid out for 4 people, there was normal wear and tear to be expected.

Nothing from the holes in the walls to the mold on the mirror or wall the water stains coming from electric panel it's hard to pick the worst issue

The house was a very nice home but our check-in was for 6 o’clock the cleaners were still there at almost 7 they never changed our bed clothes so we had dirty bedsheets and blanks the house needs minor work done to it but it needs a very good deep cleaning because the house is dirty but our stay was nice But when you pay that type of money for a house for one week it should be very clean and you should be able to check in on time

I love the location of this home. It is in a quiet neighborhood that is family friendly. The house met basic needs of a vacation home and had a wonderful pool and hot tub that we enjoyed. We have been renting homes in OBX for about 15 years and this is the first home that I have ever felt the need to leave a negative review. This home needs significant maintenance with a few hazards/safety concerns if you have small children. It also needs a deep cleaning. The rugs and furniture are noticably dirty and have a slightly foul smell. There is also what appears to be black mold or water damage of some sort on most of the AC vents. These concerns wer brought up on the first night in the home and we're never addressed. With the amount that is paid for these homes per week, all of them should be cleaned and maintained at all times. There was a zip tie holding the top deck together! Rent this house with caution, especially with young children.

The house was extremely run down. It needs a major overhaul. The owners apparently do nothing to this house. There was a huge hole in the wall in one bedroom. Several cabinets didn't have hardware on them to open them. Curtain rods were not there or bent almost off. The carpet hasn't been replaced for years and is just nasty. The legs on the two chair in the living room were broken. I could actually go on and on. It was so disappointing to spend that much on a vacation home and it be like that.

The place is big and the pool and hot tub is nice but the house was dirty and smelled like dog pee everywhere. The house also needs a lot of maintenance. There is mold growing on the walls and the paint is cracked and peeling. Also the living room chairs are not sturdy and the legs are bent.

The house needs updated. The place was not clean upon our arrival. We had to go in and clean it just to put our stuff in. The counters were sticky and we found black mold in the vents. There was drops of blood on the floor in the bathroom. The hot tub jets did not work and the temp would stay at 104 no matter what you set the temp at.

We booked this vacation through VBRO and anticipated a booking fee.
Vacasa also added a service fee !
Our check in time was 6 pm so we lost 4 hours of pool time
The house was not clean.
There was dust/dirt in the kitchen, on bedroom furniture , in the living area , on the steps and ceiling fans. There was mold coming out of the outlet covers and air vents.
The loveseat on the widow’s walk is broken
The kitchen cabinet doors will not stay closed.
There was dirt and crumbs in the couch cushions.
The mattresses were uncomfortable.
The dresser drawers are broken.
There was dust and candy wrappers under beds.
There’s pink marker on the bathroom wall and hallway.
There’s a hole in the wall of the bedroom with bunk beds and dirt on the curtains.
The foosball table is broken and the couch is very dirty and bent.
The toilet was broken - we notified Vacasa and it was fixed the same day.
The bathtub wouldn’t drain - it was fixed the same day also.

Christmas at Enduring Freedom
Beautiful home! We have returned to this home several times over the past 20 years and have never left feeling disappointed.

The decor of love of country was inspiring. As a retired U.S. Army soldier and retired law enforcement officer, this place has my wife and I hooked!

First visit to obx was to enduring freedom in Avon. We were aware Avon was in a quiet part of obx but took our chances. The location is great as far as Avon, nice neighborhood, short walk to the public beach, food store and restaurants a few minutes drive. There were plenty of options for food and drinks although takeout was limited, a lot of places closed before dinner and a lot of places seemed short staffed. Benefit of the doubt, they’re still recovering from the pandemic closures.
The house itself was very comfortable for 10 people. There are a lot of stairs. The bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, pool and hot tub were very clean and maintained. The rest of the house was surface clean. The kitchen was pretty well equipped. Washer and dryer worked well. The pool club offered by the property management was underwhelming and definitely doesn’t accommodate a full day of waiting for 5pm check in. Overall we were pleased with the house, nice views, the town had just enough to offer, lots of beach options. We’ll be back

I have been using hatteras realty for our vacation homes for the past 15 years or so and have always had great vacation homes that were clean and well maintained....until now!! The house needs major updates and needs a thorough cleaning. This was the first time I have felt that I needed to complain.

Upon arrival, there were dead things in the pool just floating there.
But to top that off, we smelled something downstairs. So I flushed the toilet, and it was clogged badly. The plunger wasnt cutting it. We put in multiple calls to have someone come fix it. Even weeks later, there isn't any real satisfactory update. We could not even use 1/3 of the house because the smell was putrid.
Other than that, nice house. Not nicely stocked for 10 people staying there.

We endured Enduring Freedom.
Overall we had a good experience at Enduring Freedom. The house is in a great location/neighborhood. The added expense of the pool and hot tub were great to have but not sure they were worth the added expense. Having them on different levels was somewhat of an inconvenience.
The condition of the property was okay … it was definitely dated and themed but the kitchen was sufficiently stocked and the furnishings were nice.
When we arrived we found the previous renter’s soiled linens in the house. We immediately called the rental company and placed them outside near the front door where they stayed all week.
The location is very far south. Traveling with teenagers, we had to drive long distances just to find “fun” things to do with them. We did have easy access to the beach and we loved the beautiful views.
