About this house rental
Welcome to Nauti & Nice @ Norris!
The property is located in Dodson Creek cove, right off of the main channel, near the Hwy 33 bridge, just minutes from Beach Island Marina and Bubba Brew's sports bar and grill by land or water, and under ten miles from Maynardville’s grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants.
The cabin comfortably lives 18 family/friends. The outdoors is mostly wooded with a fabulous view and easy access to the lake! There is a small lawn with seating around a fire pit, and a spacious dock for reading, sunning, and splashing; the dock has a ladder allowing easy access for swimming.
Let’s start upstairs of this 3 floored cabin. The upper level has a fun game nook with several board games, puzzles, card games, and some toys for little ones. This nook has a 6-person table allowing for week-long puzzles to be put together or long board games to remain setup without getting in the way of meals! There are 2 bedrooms on this level, each with a queen-sized bed and a cozy loft area overlooking the great room. The loft has a comfortable futon which sleeps 2 and storage space for guests to easily transform the conversation space into a bedroom. The upstairs bathroom is set up with towels for 6.
The main floor has a spacious and comfortable primary bedroom suite with towels for 2, kitchen, dining spaces, living room with smart TV/DVD player, and a three season’s screened-in porch with a conversation circle overlooking the cove and picnic table on the other side. A propane grill is on a small deck just outside of the screened in porch. The main gathering area is an open floor plan with a high vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, mixing bowls, casserole dishes, serving bowls/platters, roasting pan, baking necessities, and storage containers for leftovers. There is a can opener, wine bottle opener, and dish detergent. Appliances include blender, griddle, toaster, coffeemaker, waffle irons, small crock-pot, microwave, full size stove/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator – there is a second refrigerator downstairs as well, right off the game room.
Downstairs sleeps 10: There are two bedrooms, one with a queen and a child's bed (sleeps 3) and another has a full, and a twin over full bunk bed (sleeps 5). There is a queen-sized pullout sofa in the computer/TV space (sleeps 2). And the large bathroom has towels and space for 10.
There is a nice game room with a ping-pong table, air hockey table, and foosball. The paddles, balls, and handles needed are stocked waiting for you bring the fun! This L-shaped room also has a computer with internet access, connected to a TV (as a 2nd monitor). Please note: while we are not able to offer internet throughout the property, the Verizon signal is very strong; service of other carriers may not be able to reliably connect.
There is a snack area, washer/dryer, and door to a small outside patio with a great view of the cove / dock. Off this patio you will find a unique outside changing room / shower – it’s just fun to shower outside in this totally private, spacious outdoor shower!
While we’re outside, let’s go down to the dock. The path to the dock starts with a staircase that leads to a winding, well-cleared path. While the distance isn’t far, you might draw straws to determine who has to carry the cooler and laugh about being winded every time you come up (it is not wheelchair or stroller accessible). The dock has plenty of space to lounge and during summer months the water is normally ~45’ deep making for a nice swimming area. The dock has cleats on the south and north sides, allowing for any size boat to tie up, as well as a covered slip deep enough for 26’ boat. There are large hooks where you can store a kayak or paddle boards on the dock as well. At night, lights will automatically illuminate the path back to the cabin.
When you arrive, we recommend you drop off your boat at Beach Island Marina before going to the cabin. The boat ride is an easy loop around an island, under the bridge, and turn right into the first cove. The Nauti & Nice dock is right by the first orange buoy in the Dodson Creek cove and will have blue led lights that come on after dark. The driveway is long an connects to the road in two places with plenty of room for multiple cars, trucks, and trailers.

Such a perfect spot for a family vacation! The house was so much nicer than the photos depict. We loved the roominess, the accessibility to the dock and the screened in porch. Fran was fantastic to work with! We can’t wait to return next year!

We had a great time, the house was exactly as described and pictured. The open kitchen and living area is definitely bigger than it looks in the pictures. The grounds and dock are very nice and well kept. Owner was very easy to work with: prompt and friendly communications before and during our stay. Would definitely book again!

The location of this house on the southern part of Norris was great for our family boating trip. The roads to get to this house were narrow, but we managed to park our 20’ and 24’ boat trailers at the property, along with 4 vehicles. The boat dock was nicely outfitted with fenders, and the trek back up to the house was very doable and better than most places we’ve stayed at Norris. We were on the lake most of the day, and came back to the house to make supper. The only thing I needed but couldn’t find in the kitchen was a handmixer. We really enjoyed having the screened in porch as well as the fire pit.

The house was everything we could have hoped for and more! I don’t think the pictures do it justice. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We had 13 people and felt there was plenty of room and we didn’t feel crowded at all. It is on a fairly quiet cove and the dock is a great place to hang out. There are not many places to sit on the dock but we brought our camping chairs and that worked out great. Compared to other houses on the lake we did not feel the stairs were too bad. A little hike up stairs is expected on Norris Lake. Although the driveway has its challenges, it does have plenty of room for parking. I would listen to the recommendation to not bring your boat to the house. Bubbas Brews is a short boat ride away and a great place for food/drinks. We would definitely stay here again.

Property & Nice was everything we imagined and more. It is one of the best vacation rentals that we have stayed in. It is a very private location with a beautiful covered porch. The home was built and furnished with alot of care and thought and equipped with everything that you could possibly need during your stay. Including a great covered boat dock. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a 1st class lake vacation home.

We had a wonderful time at the lake. The house was perfect for our 3 household group and had everything we needed. It was a beautiful house with a great location both from the road and on the water. It was perfect for a week of family fun and relaxation.

We had 7 adults and 4 children ages 2-8 staying with us. This was the first lake vacation we have taken as a family and LOVED it! The house is exceptional! Slept us all very comfortably with room for more! The location is perfect! Much less steep walk to the dock than other homes in area and on VRBO. Mid-cove with large marina and dockside restaurant less than 5 minutes by boat! Boat and tube rentals at marina! We rented a pontoon and kept it, our kayak, 2 paddleboards, and multiple tubes/floaties at the dock with room to spare! Fran was wonderful to communicate with! 13 min to nearest grocery store, 20 min to golfing, 35 min to Knoxville, 1 hr 20 minutes to Pigeon Forge. Highly highly recommend this vacation!!!

5 Day gathering to reminisce after death of a family member. The 3 levels were perfectly suited for multiple families, conversations and activities. Plenty of comfortable sleeping areas with cozy quilts, and afghans. The outdoor Adirondack chairs were sturdy and comfortable at the fire pit, while we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. While the boat dock view was gorgeous, we only visited it once due to the distance and steep stairs leading down to it! Whew! It rained on us twice; the screened porch was a wonderful retreat to listen to the rain and enjoy the breeze. There were plenty of kitchen dishes & utensils; we really did not need for a thing. All appliances worked well. We especially enjoyed the touch of vintage antique decor throughout. The polished cedar railings at the staircases of all three levels were very secure and so absolutely stunning, as well as the knotty pine tongue and groove ceilings. While the cove water was low, the lake views were still gorgeous from every level of the cabin.
Sincerely enjoyed Fran and Rebecca’s sweet cabin!

This cabin was perfect and absolutely beautiful! Our family including 8 adults and 6 children (baby – 10 years) celebrated our family Christmas here. We even had snow!
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. I had brought a large roasting pan for our Christmas roast but didn't need it because there was one there. We made waffles one morning in the waffle maker and pancakes on the electric griddle another morning. Lots of pots and pans, dishes, glasses and silverware in the kitchen. There were even baby gates to keep the little one off the stairs and baby spoons and plates.
The three levels of the house made it easy for everyone to have their own space and spread out. Even though it was cold (10 degrees on Christmas day) the house was toasty warm. Hot water wasn't a problem for showers. There's no bath tub but the showers are big and even with a baby that didn't present a problem. Lots of towels and extra blankets were provided and the beds were super comfortable.
The ping pong and foosball table in the basement were both a big hit with the kids and adults! The basement area also gave the kids a place to play and be noisy without disturbing the rest of the house. Internet access was great and we were able to sign in to the streaming channels with no problems. Cell phone service was also good.
It is a ways down to the dock but that seems to be the same with most the houses in this area. It really wasn't a problem for anyone in our group.
The fire pit was awesome and we roasted marshmallows and made smores every night. There are no close neighbors so it's a very private area and it's very quiet.
No boat traffic this time of year and very little road traffic. I think in the summer even the boat traffic would be slow and limited due to the location in the side creek where the dock is located.
Fran was a terrific host! We received a welcome packet a few days before we arrived that gave all the info on the house and the surrounding area. We were even able to check in a couple hours early and even though we didn't need anything he made it clear that we could contact him at any time if needed.
I also contacted Melissa about the trash pick up and she was super friendly and nice.
All in all it was a wonderful home to spend a few days and we'd love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake. Highly recommend this host and this cabin.

We loves the cottage and the area. The walk to the pier was a hike, but expected. The fishing was not good. We tried everything live or fake. If your looking for a place to be with family and relaxing, 100% recommend this property. It was beautiful.

10 STARS!!
You never know what you’ll get booking a VRBO so I was a little nervous about this one. It exceeded all our expectations and the pictures online don’t do it justice. The house was clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed. The screen porch was great and we loved the fire pit.
It was really the dock and waterfront that was perfect. The water was crystal clear and wonderful for swimming, floating, and relaxing. It’s off the main channel so it was pretty quiet low traffic. We rented a boat at the marina only 10 min away.
Fran and Rebecca were easy to communicate with and responsive to any needs we had.
We will be staying here again! 100%

Pictures do this place no Justice!
I originally was hesitant on booking this place due to the pics making it look old, dark and dated. But the pictures did this place no Justice! As soon as we all walked in we were all “wowed!” It’s a beautiful clean home!!! Everything in the kitchen was very well stocked, minus a 13x9 baking dish, the waffle maker and blender could definitely be replaced as they didn’t work very well, and the large skillet pain sucked at having all food extremely stick to it. Bathrooms had hairdryers, kids enjoyed cornhole, the walk down to the dock is good but back up is not for the weak. The dock was super nice and clean, disappointed we couldn’t park one of our boats under the covered dock due to a lift. Our biggest boat is 30’ long and we had to drive waaay down the road to where it turned to turn around. A boat trailer any bigger you won’t be able to back into the driveway.
Fran was absolutely amazing, great information was given prior to our trip and was very responsive to texts. The welcome packet was super beneficial!!
We all LOVED the screened in porch where we all spent our time together every night. Some more seating in the porch would be nice as we were a group of 15. There’s more great things I could share but I think I’ll finish my book now. lol
Our only complaint was the lighting, it’s pretty dark through the home especially the bedrooms. I’d highly recommend replacing all the ceiling fans with fans that have lights.
If we return to this lake this home would be a must to return to!

Nice family vacation lake house
Our family sure enjoyed this lake house! It has a wonderful screen porch and a really nice fire pit outside with Adirondack chairs. Best though is the large covered boat dock. This is the place if your family likes fishing, swimming, kayaking, tubing, pontooning and relaxing.

Another Great Stay!
This was our 3rd time at this property and it has become our favorite. It's location in a cove makes it nice for swimming and hanging out on the dock without all of the boat traffic, but it is close enough to the main channel that you can get out quickly when you are ready to go boating. Highly recommend!

The property was below average and the owner will nickel and dime you for trash, etc. We found the property to be very outdated, the grill lite on fire when we tried to use it and the dryer could not dry 2 towels over 60 minutes. They do not offer internet, and the TVs, pool tables, furniture, utensils, coffee pot, etc. etc. are all outdated and worn. I have stayed at 2 other properties in Lake Norris for similar amounts per night and they were much better than this property and were definitely not trying to nickel and dime you. With the grill and dryer not operating I should have gotten a refund but owner charged me because we did not haul our trash offsite or back home with us. Really!!!

Will book again!!!
The rental is beautiful. Everything is provided in ample supply except food/drinks. Fran was quick to answer every time I reached out for information. Our group of 14 had a wonderful vacation. Plenty of room to get together for meals and enough room to get away for down time. The kids had a blast playing ping pong , foosball, and air hockey in the game room. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and floating on the tubes.

Fabulous beginning to summer at the Nauti∋ce@Norris
The cabin was so inviting and comfortable, almost like home away from home. We loved the open shelving in the kitchen and bathrooms. No searching in cabinets for the necessary items. the screen in porch was absolutely wonderful and such a life saver. We could be outside even during the rain showers! The dock was great for our pontoon boat, in the water and covered. The steps to the dock were a pain but the reward was great when you reached the bottom.
Very tranquil and remote, bothered by nothing but the passing boats on the water and their gentle ripple of their waves.
The internet/tv was sketchy but who needs that stuff on vacation. We enjoyed our family and our unplugged time.
I would highly recommend to read the pamphlet hanging on the fridge, lots of good-to-know info!!
We are hoping to have another stay at Nauti∋ce@Norris VERY SOON!

Getaway on the Lake
First and foremost Fran was an outstanding host. Very helpful with providing our group details about the property and the area before we booked and during our stay. The property was great. The pictures do not do justice to the home and it’s beauty. We had a group of 12 and we had plenty of space to enjoy dinner each night. Bathrooms on all three levels was a super advantage and very roomy areas. Very short walk to the dock which was also in great condition. The outside fire pit was a hit as well. Location was close to Bubble Brews and a marina where we rented a boat for our stay. Overall great experience and would stay there again.

Better than Pictures!!
This home is much bigger than the photos made it seem. We enjoyed our stay. We love to cook and it was a very well equipped kitchen!! The walk to the boat dock was fairly easy in comparison to other properties we have stayed. Only one suggestion, please get cable and give access to wi-fi as we could not watch much T V or stream. This place is a real winner!!

Mountain Retreat
The property is amazing. The pictures don't do it any justice. It's a 3 level, 5 bedroom/3 bathroom cabin, very spacious and located on the river with a dock. The kitchen is fully stocked. There are plenty of towels and linens to accommodate a large party, as we were 14. The basement is great area for kids and teens. There's a computer, an air hockey table, a ping pong table and a foose ball table. One room accommodates 5 while the other can accommodate 3. The 3rd level loft is also another great area for kids to play. The closet is stocked with games and activities for kids. TV is a smart TV with streaming services installed. This cabin will make for the perfect mountain vacation getaway.
