About this house rental
Enjoy a relaxing stay in a modern log cabin in a very secluded cove on Norris Lake, with options to make your stay an absolute turnkey experience. The house is located off Racetrack Hollow in Big Creek near the end of a cove, so there are essentially no boats back in the cove. The lakehouse has ~150 feet of frontage, so there is plenty of room to swim for your group. If all the beds and convertible beds are used, the house can sleep up to 23 people. Realistically, the property is ideal for 3 families.
The rates for Memorial Day through Labor Day include both the lakehouse and tinylakehouse. Outside of this window, the rate is for the main lakehouse only - the tinylakehouse can be added for an additional $100/night, plus $100 cleaning.
New for 2021 and beyond is a huge 32' x 52' Three Slip Covered dock (2 covered available for guests) with an upper sun deck. The dock is the ultimate in luxury - added to the dock is a FULL SIZE refrigerator, CLOTHES DRYER for drying wet towels, Small propane grill, propane fire table, microwave, and sound system.
The main house has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The King Master suite, on the 2nd floor, has an attached bathroom and sitting area, along with a private balcony overlooking the lake. The 2nd bedroom on the main floor has a king platform bed. The bathroom on this floor has a newly renovated rainfall shower, and is open to the living room. The third bedroom is on the lower level, and has two twin over full bunkbeds with twin trundles, a double futon, and the third full bathroom. There is also a pullout couch in the main living room, and a single pullout twin bed chair in the sunroom. The sunroom has a slider and curtain so it can be made into a 4th bedroom. All bed linens, as well as bath sheets and towels are provided - just bring your own beach towels for the lake. Also, the house is completely pet-friendly - please feel free to bring your dogs with you - NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE, as long as you treat the house with respect - Dogs deserve to have a vacation at the lake with their humans!
The tinylakehouse is truly unique - It has a Bedroom with a Queen Murphy bed for nighttime, and a Murphytable for daytime dining. The loft has a Cordaroy convertible Bean bag - it is a bean bag by day, but opens into a queen size bed. The living area includes a queen size convertible sofa, as well as a projector with a 100" screen, and a wifi DVD player (please download movies to save your internet!). The bathroom has a shower, toilet and vanity. The tinykitchen sports an air fryer, microwave, 2 burner stove and mini-fridge.
For indoor entertainment, we just have regular broadcast TV. Satellite internet was added in 2019, and each rental includes 50 Gigabytes of high speed usage. Also, there are ~250 DVD movies, a number of board games, and a Nintendo Wii entertainment system. Plenty to do in the unlikely event there is rain during your stay.
New in 2023 is an additional 16x20 upper deck, along with a 20 x 20 screened in porch underneath! The porch includes another TV & DVD player, has a small propane firepit/bluetooth speaker combo and is great for relaxing and taking in the lake views.
All in all, the main house can sleep up to 17 people with all the pullouts. The tinylakehouse can sleep another 6, for 23 total (that would be very cozy).
I try to make the lakehouse as turnkey as possible, so I have an ice machine, lots of toilet paper and paper towels, bath soaps, shampoo, garbage bags, etc - i also include all linens and I try to keep nice, fluffy bath towels!
Included with the rental is use of the dock (rental includes 1, and possibly 2 covered slips with advanced notice). Also included with the house are a number of water toys, including 4 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a paddleboat and various flotational toys. We also added a 'mountain corn hole' game, carved into the side of the hill. There are a number of lifejackets available for use, to ensure that your guests are safe. Also on the property is a great high fly swing.
For cooking, the kitchen comes fully equipped, and there is a grill on the deck off the sunroom. There is also a propane powered outdoor pizza oven, which is a great option to let people make & bake their own pizzas, as well as a smoker to slow cook your favorite meats. If you prefer cooking over an open fire, just light the firepit with the included wood, and cook directly over the campfire. In the evenings, enjoy s'mores over a fire in the fire pit, located midway between the lake and the house - the house is stocked with plenty of wood at no additional charge.
If you don't have a boat, don't worry. The owner has a 22 foot, 115 HP outboard 14 person max capacity pontoon boat available for rent in conjunction with the rental of the house. This boat has been totally upgraded in 2024 - new vinyl weave floor, new upholstery, adding a 3rd toon for stability, and a new control.
Any questions, please let me know. You can also send a note to hudak paul 03 (no spaces) - it is a gee mail place if you want to reduce cost.... Thanks for looking!

Would definitely stay again!

The location is amazing tucked into a cove and we spent so much time just hanging at the dock. Kayaks and paddleboards, slide and the big 2nd story jump kept the kids entertained. Fishing was easy and fun with the littles in our group. We rented the pontoon and cruising the lake was relaxing. House had every single thing we needed. The rope swing was a hit and smores around the fire in the evenings was a perfect end to each day. We had 18? 19? People and everyone had a comfy spot to sleep. Great communication and instructions for everything
Weather was 80 and overcast with some rain and storms. We still had an amazing vacation. Looking forward to coming back to stay again!

If you are looking for a family-friendly, fur baby approved, vacation HOME, in a safe, convenient cove, with fun at your fingertips, this is it!!
The location alone was the best I have ever stayed in 15+ years at Norris, for multiple reasons! It’s a peaceful, private cove with maybe 20 houses. You can sit on the “Big Deck” of the HOUSE or the dock and watch everyone play with ease. Huge bonus: no thru traffic on either side of the cove! Most of the homes are owner occupied (with the right to VRBO). You can let the kids explore a bit. Quick boat ride or drive to dinner/lunch/shopping ect. Only 30 mins from 75. Easy drive from Cincy; Buc-cees is a great half way pit stop! This isn’t a rental in my opinion. Both the main house and the Tinyhouse are homes! Loved watching the sunrise in the comfy chair, in the sunroom! Screened in porch w/fans tvs ect, master suite on top floor with private deck, nice main floor bedroom, great lower level with bunk beds for kiddos. The tinyhouse is ideal for solely entertainment OR additional housing. Our kids loved having their own “house”. When I was a single parent, vacation entertainment could be intimidating; Book this! It was super easy. I could have done this with little ones on my own. Grab groceries and you don’t even need to leave. Plus, you can bring your fur babies! The dogs loved it and they were easy to contain. Highly Recommended Coal Creek Fishing Charters for ALL ages! Or ATVs “Best Vacation Ever”. Total Mom Win :)

Paul was a great communicator. There were 14 of us that stayed and there was plenty of room. There was plenty for all of us to do and we didn’t get bored. The newly added screened in area was a hit. We sure did spend our evenings and mornings there. The lake is absolutely breathtaking. The dock was a blast. There were so many things for us to do. The pontoon boat was a plus and was available whatever days we chose. Thanks for allowing us to stay and the precious memories. Our dog Manny loved it just as much as we did.

We had a great time- the kids loved all the things to do: slide, paddle boarding, paddle boat, corn hole, boating etc. The tiny house was also a hit.

The house had many things to do to keep everyone busy. Paul communicates quickly. We were able to try the new chair lift he installed it helped our older visitors reach the top deck.

The house was perfect for the weekend getaway. Paul went out of his way to make the house comfortable for us and ready for the Holidays. Some unexpected events happened during our stay, and Paul was accommodating allowing us to extend our stay an extra night. Would recommend this for any friend or family get togethers.

Property gets an a minus / b plus. Only a couple small things. Some of the stairs are very steep and older renters may find them difficult. Hand rails on only one side for a lot of the trip to the dock. Kitchen is narrow so teamwork there is tough. Good selection of dvds with varying audiences. Dock went to winter water location during our stay which is approximately 50 yards from where the stairs drop you this shouldn’t be a problem during full pool months but should be noted if you are trying for a late September last hurrah. The amenities like ice and games are a welcome piece. Could use a few low watt night lights near the floor on the stairs and the main/kitchen level. We left a kitchen light on so our kids could make their way up in the dark should they need.

We had a wonderful stay. Paul was very quick to respond to all of our questions and you could tell that he truly cared that we have a easy stay. We spent most of the time on the dock utilizing the water toys.

What a GREAT stay! The house was AMAZING- we enjoyed drinks on the main floor deck two nights before dinner- never made it down to the middle-level deck. Drinks on the covered dock when it was raining the first nice- AWESOME! Dryers at the dock, outside, and washer/dryer indoors too. The refrigerator down at the dock- perfect for drinks and lunch- we grilled out twice for lunch b/c there was a grill on the dock as well as the main deck. The water was AMAZING- green/blue, clear, deep & felt GREAT! Slide off the top of the deck (patio area w/ chairs- definitely used this!), toys included paddle boat, two kayaks, and 2 paddle boards. There were noodles, life vests, basic fishing poles, etc. We also brought two inflatable inner tubes, Saw BIG fish but only caught one small one despite multiple attempts. :) Pizza oven was so fun- we saved for our last night but wish would have done it earlier b/c there were leftovers. Enjoyed fires on two nights and movies on 3-4 others (variety to pick from). Paul was quick to respond to any questions we had- an excellent host. Small group- 3 adults, including my 78-year-old father, and three dogs. Lots of steps down to the water/dock, but not bad b/c landings/lateral movement. GREAT trip/break from "real" life! :)

The house was the perfect size for our crew and there was every type of lake toy to make it super fun! The dock is awesome! The teen boys loved going down the slide and jumping off the top deck. Great Amenities and Location
Second time staying at Paul’s house. Great amenities (paddle boards, kayaks and so on) and the two story dock is one of the best at Norris. Location is centrally located to several marinas, jumping cliffs and rope swings. Paul is great to work with and quick to respond. House has everything you need and then some. Would recommend and plan to come back next year.

Relaxing getaway
Spent an extended weekend here with the family to relax. The home is very clean & well maintained. The view is beautiful and right on the water. The drive to get to the property is a little narrow and the driveway is very steep. However, you do get used to it & it gets easier. I would recommend getting some groceries or food in town on your way out to the property. Especially if arriving later in day.
We came in the spring & the water temps were cool, but we still really enjoyed kayaking and even jumped in the water a few times. It would be amazing in the summer, but still very relaxing in the non-summer months.
Paul was great to work with and there is an extensive amount of games, movies, & wii to enjoy the time.
All in all, we loved it.

Amazing get away
Short get away in late spring for the family. Property was perfect. Plenty of space for all 5 of us and our dog. Standup paddle boards and kayaks included with the rental were perfect for us and the kids. Weather even in late spring was great to be out on the water. Fire pit was wonderful. Property was clean and well maintained. Would consider returning soon!

Beautiful stay with everything you could need, dog friendly!
We had an amazing stay at the lake house for Christmas. There was everything we could imagine; fooseball table and Wii for the kids, family board games, and TONS of family friendly and action movies. We stopped into Walmart on our way in to stock up on groceries. The cabin has all of the toiletries you could need (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) and the kitchen is fully stocked with applianes down to a crock pot, toaster, and toaster oven; along with tons of spices and things like oil and syrup, etc. We did not find anything that we needed and did not have. The beds were very comfortable, the newly renovated bathroom with the rainfall showerhead was heaven. We were thankful for the beautiful holiday decorations and fully decorated Christmas tree! We enjoyed a white Christmas with a fireplace and plenty of wood to last us for the entire stay. We even saw a buck and several deer grazing in the front yard on multiple mornings. Being able to bring our large furry family member was a huge bonus, many other places we looked at had weight restrictions that we could not bring our shepherd to. Paul was extremely easy to get ahold of and responsive. We cannot wait to plan a stay here in the summer to play on the lake! Thank you for a great stay Paul and Joy!

Our dogs learned to dock dive from this fantastic dock!
Warm enough to play in the water, cool enough for a fire at night - we spent a perfect weekend at Big Creek. The kitchen was well equipped; the beds were comfortable; there were three full baths with fluffy towels. Everything necessary for a great time on Norris Lake was provided.

Beautiful, clean, and home away from home
This place was beyond what we were expecting. Paul was so nice and helpful from the beginning of the time we booked. He was in contact with us if we had any questions very quickly. The place was clean and so open and felt huge. Plus, you get a workout from the dock to the house. The house had everything you needed for the lake/house. loved every minute of it and will be making a return trip next year.

Great location on the lake.
Nice house to stay in and owner is super nice. Only downfall is the steep and narrow roads and driveway. Just drop your boat at Campbell State Park instead of bringing it down to house and you will have no problems. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Great vacation spot!
This house is nicer than advertised. The cove is small and quiet but close to big water. Dock is great with a diving board. House has everything you might need. We used the pizza oven numerous times as well as the electric smoker. We also rented the pontoon boat. Great bang for the buck

great location away from boat wake
Had a great time, so much to do right at the house. Everybody had fun swimming right near the dock using the paddle boat, paddle boats and kayaks. Kids loved paddling over top the rope swing right across the cove. Kitchen was fully stocked and there were plenty of games to play and what a movie collection. From a fisherman's perspective was very nice to park the bass boat under cover and plug it in to charge the batteries although didn't fish allot due family fun time we did catch a few bass, also caught a gar, a 6 # flathead and a 3 lb bass night tight line fishing on our last night right off the dock not to mention all the bluegill the kids caught. If you're a fisherman i suggest netting some alewife at night using lights. I saw many boats limiting out on stripers near the dam using them, (I had no luck with plugs or bucktails)

Paul was available at any time during our trip. The power went out a couple times because of storms but other than that, it was a great experience.
