We came up for a week stay with our two young kids and two golden retrievers. The host was very nice and had very good communication with us the whole time. We really appreciated the location, it was very quiet, safe and has beautiful views of the town below. Nice sized fenced in backyard, perfect for our dogs and kids. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space. There is no AC, but they did have portable fans and swamp cooling fans that we could use. It gets cool at night, so we just opened up the windows to cool the house down. About a 5 minute drive down the hill to the town below. The town of Basalt is super cute, plenty of areas to explore and hike, restaurants to enjoy and very kid and dog friendly spots scattered around the town. Very close to the river and about 10 mins from a BMX park, shopping and several other outdoor activities. The house is 30 mins to Aspen and 30 mins to Glenwood springs, perfect location to take day trips to either. We would definitely come back and stay again, we really enjoyed it

Loved our 2-week ski stay at this lovely house on the mountain. Wildlife was such a treat to see--mule deer, turkeys and a fox! The house was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had all pots/pans and utensils we needed to cook in the mornings and evenings. Check-in/out was a breeze. Highly recommend this property!

I stayed here for a week with 3 friends and it was the perfect retreat for us. The house was clean and well-stocked with essentials. There was plenty of space for all of us and our ski gear. Even with other houses nearby, it felt nice and secluded being at the top of hill. The views from the backyard were great to take in every day. It was only about 15-20 minutes to Snowmass and Buttermilk, which made for easy drives to and from the slopes. Kristen was very easy to communicate with and ready to answer any questions we had. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood above the town. 5 min drive to wonderful local restaurants and 30 min to skiing in Aspen or Snowmass. Kristen was super helpful making sure the house was warm and lit for our late night arrival and offered plenty of suggestions to make our stay even better. Comfortably slept a family of four with room to spare. Super clean and well provisioned--made for a great stay. Thanks for everything!

Kristin is an amazing host, and the cabin was perfect for my family's stay over the holidays. Great trail access right from the property; wonderful well-kept yard for our dogs; and cozy / comfortable living spaces with well-appointed bedrooms.

We just returned from a week to ski Snowmass and stayed here. Very clean, well-organized, nicely decorated, well-stocked and warm. Super comfortable and felt very much like home. Lots of little nice touches throughout. Easy drive to Aspen and Snowmass. The host was so nice and made everything incredibly easy.
This place could not have been nicer for us.

This home is super clean and well appointed for your stay and no details are left to chance. We ate out our meals so did not use the well- equipped kitchen but it had everything you need. Communication with the owner’s representative was easy and all of our questions were answered. The home is located high on the hills overlooking downtown Basalt with tremendous views of Mt. Sopris and surrounding mountains.

The home is located at the top of the hill above Downtown Basalt and it was easy to pop into town for meals or shopping, yet it felt private and quiet. And we saw deer and turkeys in the neighborhood every day! The home is very well equipped and laid out, and very clean. Our family has three vacation rentals in Florida and we know a well-run property when we see one! We would stay here again.

We were there for several weeks. Property had a great, private location in the hills above old downtown Basalt with a moderate walk to town. Picture are accurate. The place was very clean, well appointed, and had plenty of room for four adults. Kristen, the host, was always responsive with the few small issues that came up. We definitely would stay again.

Quiet and dog-friendly mountain retreat!
We stayed for a week to virtually work form home, ski, and explore the area. We would love to stay in Kristen's home again!
The home is warm, bright, and inviting with beautiful views of Mt. Sopris on the drive up to the house. We found a short walking path up the hill side for great sunset views as well. There's a great big fenced in yard for our dog! She loved the views herself - seeing deer, wild turkeys, and other creatures.
Inside, the home was well stocked and very comfortable. We cooked dinner every night. Whole Foods and City Market was a short drive away for all grocery needs. Wifi was strong for 3 adults to have web conferences for work, but keeping our videos off to make sure we all had bandwidth!
Kristen was a fantastic host and very accessible. She was very thoughtful and thorough letting us know what to expect before we arrived, throughout the trip, and even following up afterwards. We really appreciated her help and flexibility when our travel plans hit a snafu.
