About this house rental
Classic, laid-back BHI oceanfront beach house perched on highly sought after South Beach with beach access right off the ocean-facing porch makes this an ideal spot for family gatherings, beach vacations, or remote work/learning opportunities. Located in close proximity to BHI club for those looking to dine, golf, or swim. BHI and Shoals Club memberships available for separate purchase.
New to VRBO however long-standing in the rental market, The Blue Pearl offers five bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The four main bedrooms (King, King, Queen, Queen) include their own private full bath while the fifth bedroom has two twin beds and a television, perfect for little guests.
The layout of this property features easy one level living with hardwood floors throughout, bedrooms/ private baths in each of the four corners of the house allowing for quiet privacy. With two ensuite king bedrooms, the house is perfect for either two families to share or one family to enjoy the space. Likewise, the two king bedrooms offer french doors to the oceanfacing porch for those who love an ocean breeze.
With one level living, the intentional open concept design allows for enough room for comfortable gathering in common areas yet privacy for when guests want to retire from the group. The open kitchen/common area floorplan makes for easy entertainment all while enjoying the ocean & dunes view.
The large rocking chair porch is unparalled as it expands the entire length of the house making for incredible sunset views year round. The underneath of the house is decked and includes an outdoor shower, a grill, as well as hose right at the foot of the steps to hose off sandy feet.
Additionally, our home includes top tier wifi for those looking to get some work done while on vacation and every room has its own flat screen tv.
The chef's kitchen is fully stocked with stainless steel countertops, a variety of cookware, select oils & spices, and great amenities including an ice making machine (great for filling coolers ), Kiereg, regular coffee maker, french press, and double ovens for large family meals.
Built in the early days of BHI, Blue Pearl, was built by the Dunlap Family who were part of the reknown original "19" Generator Society. Its beach chic, easy living asthetic has stood the test of time and the shiplap walls will remind of you days when life was simple. Blue Pearl has a personality all its own and was once featured in Coastal Living Magazine when it was renovated by BHI long standing local and talented businesswoman, Tiffany Williams. While recently refreshing with new beds and sofas, the new owners have strived to keep the style and ease that has kept guests coming back year after year. The style of the home has been carefully curated to reflect casual "kick off your shoes" coastal living with modern conveniences.
Two golf carts (one six seater, one four seater), lots of beach toys, two surfboards, boogie boards, and chairs. Highchair, pack n play, and two foldable beds are available. If you need additional baby equipment we can help direct you to equipment rental vendors.
BHI club and Shoals Club guest memberships are available for separate purchase.
New owners have made some improvements including new sofas, new bedding for all beds, whole house dehumidifier, refreshed laundry room, and new bikes. We also provide a Brita water filter pitcher to cut down on bottled water.
Rentals run Saturday to Saturday in high season while off season will have more flexibility. Minimum 3 night rental with some exceptions made.
No pets. Linens excluding beach towels are included. If you need beach towels, contact owner for arrangements!

This is a beautiful house and was perfect for our family. Unfortunately our stay was cut short by a tropical storm. The host was an absolute pleasure to work with in less than ideal circumstances. We look forward to returning.

Blue Pearl is an absolutely beautiful home and the perfect house for a large family gathering. We had 9 people total and the layout was perfect for two families to share without disturbing one another. The large living/dining area and back porch provide ample gathering space. Definitely our favorite rental on Bald Head.

First time to BHI. Great house and great location on South Beach. House has 2 rooms on one end, with 3 rooms on the other end with a 'meeting' area in the middle. Great place for Gathering. Highly Recommend the house.

We had the best time. 4 bedrooms each with bath. Another small bedroom that was perfect for the 2 grandchildren. Easy beach access. Wonderful porch. Rocking chairs. Bald Head never disappoints.

Enjoyed staying at this property during our daughter’s wedding. The large open living/dining area and decks were great for hanging out with my brother’s family who stayed with us. Having bathrooms in 4 bedrooms added convenience and privacy. Convenient location with easy beach access!

This was the honestly the best online rental experience I have ever had. The house was perfect for our party and was accurately depicted in the listing. The owner was incredibly responsive and willing to quickly address the minor issue we experienced. We would love to be able to come back and stay at the blue pearl again!

Wonderful spot for our Easter trip. 2 adults and 4 teenagers - great set up for our group. Super clean, comfy beds, great location. Wonderful communication from the host. Despite the weather a good time was had by all!

Our group had 6 adults and 4 kids, 4 and under. We had an amazing time staying at the Blue Pearl. Cottage has been nicely updated and decorated. Oceanfront location made for easy access to beach and very relaxing sitting on the porch, hearing the waves crashing on beach. Host was excellent and very responsive. Lots of chairs, games, toys, bikes, carts, etc… provided with home.

This was a great house- everything was on 1 level and had direct access to the beach- which was great for my older parents that traveled with us. The house was fresh and clean and had all the kitchen items you would need. It also had a great supply of beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, bikes, etc that were in great condition. The golf carts worked great too. The property manager was easily reachable for questions and was extremely kind. We will stay here again.

Perfect beach house
Blue Pearl is the perfect BHI beach house -- spacious, clean, well-appointed, right on the beach, very close to BHI Club and the market, you name it! And the owner is very accessible and so helpful. Our family's only complaint was that we had to leave. We would dearly love to stay there again!!

This house was the second house we have stayed at on the island and it was really great. Being right on the beach made a huge difference and found the house to be very comfortable and beachy! We look forward to renting here again!!

Beachfront ---Unique Old style Home but with every Modern Amenity
This house is unique on the island. Originally built in 1976 before Bald Head existed as a destination resort. Completely updated by owners in 2013-2014 to make it modern functionally but retain its unique design---extremely large center room with high ceilings consisting of large kitchen area, LR area, Dining area, and large sofas. Smart Tv and separate soundbar stereo included. There are 4 large bedrooms off each corner with full baths, TV (plus small 5th). Walk right out to the covered porch---facing the ocean and the dunes. Very bright. Have visited newer houses on Bald Head----they are nice---but we would return here. Most importantly, Catherine was extremely responsive to any questions we had---regardless of their nature. Her respons time by text was always within minutes and it removed any anxiety we might have had for going to a new place for the first time. I highly recommend the "Blue Pearl"

Best Location on BHI
I cant recommend this house enough! Right on the beach and just a short ride from the market and restaurants. Kitchen is fully stocked and the TVs in every bedroom are a great touch. My family had such a nice time enjoying all of our meals on the back deck, especially watching the sunset every night. The golf carts and bikes make everything super convenient as well. We will definitely be back- do not hesitate in booking this house if you see it is available!

One of my favorite parts of this beautiful home is that it is one of the original 19 homes on the island!!!! It’s beautifully remodeled and so close to everything! A great home for a getaway!

Communication with Catherine, the host, was outstanding! She was very accommodating and responded super quick if we needed anything.

A Little Slice of Heaven
Our stay at Blue Pearl for our nephew's wedding was just perfect! Blue Pearl's beach access was an added bonus and we loved sitting on the porch listening to the waves. The house has lots of charm truly reflects Bald Head Island. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 1 toddler. The weather was a little chilly to take advantage of all of the beach toys, but there are plenty. The golf carts and the bikes were just perfect for all of our transportation/play needs. Catherine was a great host and communication was open at all times. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for an amazing tirp!
