Home is conveniently located within Seaside. Easy stroll to public square, restaurants, shops, pools, fitness and beach.
Plenty of space for our group of 6.

We really enjoyed the location and being in close proximity to Seaside! We would stay here again! The management staff were also very helpful with the house and places to eat and things to do.

My husband and I loved the Forsythe House. It’s very unique and not your typical beach rental. The space has a very cool vibe and we loved the views from the roof, over the park and the record player was also a great touch. There is lots of glass throughout so we didn’t love the fish bowl effect especially in the evening where people passing by can see everything (no curtains on the first floor). Seeing out to the view over the park was lovely. But people seeing right back in wasn’t my favorite. (I know, you can’t have it both ways). We also loved that it was pet friendly. No complaints about this house at all .. we’ve already recommended it to some friends. However, if you have small kids or a small dog, I wouldn’t recommend it. The “floating stairs” in the house are aesthetically cool, but not safe for kids or dogs in my opinion. They aren’t just open at the riser, but they don’t have an attached railing with gaps of several inches between the tread and the wires they used for the railing. We had to carry our dog up and down. Just a small price to pay to reach the beautifully decorated bedrooms and amazing roof top deck. The roof top is another stellar feature and we enjoyed several sunsets up there but had to hold our dog in our lap or keep him on a short leash because the railings are very open. The location on Ruskin Square is stunning and we will 100% stay here again if we aren’t traveling with pets. Management was great and we really loved the location and the vibe.

No privacy
This property is the worst so far that I have rented in Seaside. The primary bedroom has no doors, only curtains, so there is zero privacy and it’s located above the kitchen, which makes it loud. The cabinets are wonky, the drawers sometimes refuse to shut, the patio needs re-decking, the outdoor shower does not work, the furniture is uncomfortable down to every last chair, and the TVs are not smart. The location is great but I would not rent this particular property again. I definitely did not get my money’s worth this trip.

Outstanding location for Seaside wedding.

This property on Ruskin Park was the perfect location for our visit. The place was well equipped and comfortable. It is as advertised, but realize that while the stairs are beautifully designed and the features of the home are unique, this how would not be appropriate for anyone who cannot manage them, inclusing getting your bags to the bedrooms. The rooftop and outdoor spaces, particularly on the park side, provide a wonderful place to relax and interact. I will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Seaside.

Very cool decor and wonderful location behind main shopping area. The only downside is you can’t rent a golf cart in that area - and we wanted one. So we would have rented nearby in Watercooler and rented a cart. But not homeowner’s fault. The two bikes included were a nice touch.

We loved this stay! Such a fun place for art lovers and the record player and collection inspired us to start our own. Small kids and small pets would not be good with the stairs. We adored Ruskin Park’s charm and the Forsythe house was so much fun!

Overall the house was nice and the location was great. The curtains in the third floor bedroom are water stained and do not go all the way to the top which means you can’t sleep in. The cooking pans were really old and black. I would not even use them. Lastly, the refrigerator was so loud we had to move from the second floor bedroom to the third. There are no doors on the second floor bedroom so you can hear everything from downstairs.

The Forsythe House was the perfect place to stay for me, my 3 teenaged kids and their 3 friends. The location was very convenient as they made many trips to Modica Market, and the walk to the beach was easy. Our favorites parts about the house were watching the sunset from rooftop terrace and hanging out on the front porch with the doors open and listening to music from the awesome record player.

My family of five and two dogs had such an incredible stay at Forsythe. We loved every minute of it! We loved the uniqueness of the house and how close it was to all that Seaside has to offer. I would highly recommend it (but don't book for the dates I want to come back;)

The Forsythe House was perfect for our bachelorette beach weekend/girl's getaway. Though it sleeps 8, I think it fit 6 comfortably. I wouldn't recommend this house with small children or people with disabilities because of the 3 sets of narrow stairs. The property was clean and well-maintained, but one of our showers was broken when we got there. It was fixed immediately after Sandpiper realized something was wrong. Pictures don't capture all of the unique architecture and artwork throughout the house - it looks even better in person! The rooftop was beautiful - plenty of chairs and space for day or night relaxing. The house was in walking distance to the Seaside circle of shops and restaurants, as well as the beach. Forsythe was a perfect fit for our stay, and I'd highly recommend it.

Very nice rental property in a great location in the heart of Seaside. The location is perfect on Park and with short easy access to shops, dining and the beach. Very well appointed large town home. Commercial stove was great and equipment in general is high standard (unlike most rentals): great washer/dryer, wine refrigerator etc. Comfortable layout and roomy, stairs may be an issue for older travelers. Great service team. Would highly recommend.

A bit dated. Clean. Great location. Excellent management.
I have stayed in several properties along 30A including 4 in Seaside. This property had a great location in Ruskin Place behind the circle at Seaside. I chose it for it proximity to all of the events and activities of the annual Seaside Wine Festival. I also chose this property based upon favorable reviews from past guests on VRBO and the appealing pictures shown on the VRBO page.
Problems we had during our stay: Oven would not light. It is a gas oven. We could get the range to work, but not the oven. We did not call for help. The bathrooms are on the small side. The master bath was difficult to use as the shower was in the form of a stand alone tub with shower curtains on all sides. The curtains were too long when placed inside the tub, and when outside the tub, the floor got soaked. The ice maker did not make much ice. We were there for four nights and had to supplement the ice maker with bagged ice. The placement of the television in the living room was awkward. It is a smaller unit in a closet. The remote control for the cable box was missing its battery cover and several buttons only worked with a firm push. Parking is limited. You can only fit one small car behind the property. You must seek additional parking nearby, usually available. There isn't much privacy as has been noted in previous reviews. The stairways are open and somewhat confusing. There are two paths leading up which reach the upper floors in different places. All of the chairs on the roof but two had issues. One wooden chair was missing an armrest. All but one of the plastic Adirondack style chairs were broken. The keys did not work well. One had to play with the lock to get it to work. The lighting was strange. The entire first floor and stairwells were lit with outdoor style halogen lights on dimmer switches. If you turned then on all the way, you were staring at a flood light on the way down the stairs.
Things we liked: Location, location, location. You can't beat staying on Ruskin Place. The gas grill worked well. The women in our group loved the decor/artwork. The management at Sandpiper is ALWAYS easy to work with. The property was pet friendly although the VRBO site makes no mention of an additional $100 pet fee. The WiFi signal was strong throughout the house.
In conclusion, I would not rent this property again. It needs an update. It was clean. It is in a great location. It would be great for a couple with older children/teens. It was not suitable for more than two adults.

Unique house in artist colony. Fabulous Seaside location!
My husband and I stayed here on our anniversary. We loved this house! It's in an awesome location. It's a stroll to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The stairs in the house are very steep though. I would not recommend this house for small children or elderly people.
4.7
Charming! Comfortable! Convenient!
We loved our stay in the Forsythe House this past week. Wish it could have lasted longer. The house is incredibly well decorated and easy to live in. From beds, to bathrooms to kitchen and sitting areas the whole place is perfectly designed to please and provide a relaxing, inspiring stay in Seaside. It's close enough to the action that we could walk less than a block to dinners, drinks, the market, book stores and shopping. Yet we felt like we had tons of privacy when that's what we needed. The rooftop view is amazing.
There are two rooms on the 3rd level with doors that each sleep 2 (one king and one with two singles). The 2nd level relies on curtains for privacy, which suited our two teenaged sons just fine, and has 2 single beds. The house has just about every appliance and kitchen tool you might need and plenty of TV, movies, books, games and internet access for those rainy days.
We loved our time at the Forsythe House and we'll be back!

Best relaxing vacation ever!!
My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at The Forsythe House. We loved it so much we called the day before checkout and were able to add another nights stay. The location is perfect, nestled in between the Shops of Ruskin right in the middle of town. We walked or biked everywhere, even biked to the grocery store. The inside of the home is amazing. The collection of eclectic art displayed through out is almost like staying in an art gallery. My favorite was the kitchen!!!! We loved sitting outside in the mornings and drinking our coffee watching everyone set up shop for the day. The master bedroom was so cozy. One day it rained and I didn't want to get out of bed. I could go on and on how much we loved this home and Seaside. I highly recommend it and all the stairs didn't bother me at all - it was much needed exercise after all the food and drink I consumed everyday.

Forsythe house is a fascinating modern art museum
My family and I stayed at the Forsythe house in Seaside early this August. The owners have done a fabulous job decorating their home in the most eclectic style. There was somethig striking behind every nook and crany. We loved every minute spent there. On the downside, we spent a lot more time inside than we planned because we were there during a hot spell. It seemed to be close to 100 degrees from 9 to 6 every day. Our fault for comming to Florida in August!
4.7
Nice location & interesting/artful decor
The location is great, right off the Shops at Ruskin Place. In the photo the outdoor dining area seemed to be facing the walkway of the shops but it is actually in the back of the house & between 2 a/c units, so if it is summer, you most likely will not want to have dinner there - fall may be different.
The home is definitely not for children or alot of privacy - we were on a girls trip so it worked okay. We had some problems with utility & kitchen items but the owner was very kind & came immediately to help and make everything right for us.
I would recommend this home for an adult get away especially if you have an appreciation for art & contemporary surroundings.

Geat location
I am well acquainted with Seaside, and found the location to be fantastic. The townhouse was conveniently located to all of the surrounding ammenities. The style of the townhouse wsa artsy and eclectic. The rooftop views are the best that I have seen in Seaside, particularly the sunsets.

Spring Break
The rental was great! Here is why....location, comfortable beds, views, pet friendly, spacious, plenty of sitting areas indoors and out, and lots of art to keep your eyes/mind entertained!

Spoiled Us!
The location and decor of this rental has spoiled us from now on. We were right in the middle of everything and we felt like we were living in a catalogue. The beds were comfortable and being able to open the doors from the bedrooms to fresh air was wonderful!! The renters were great to work with since we were booking last minute. I would recommend Forsythe House to anyone - we even had small children and the stairs didn't pose a problem (only exercise for us adults).

A Week at the Forsythe Home
Our family just returned from a week in Seaside and for the first time, stayed in Ruskin Place in this 3 story townhome with a roof deck. We had a great time--the space is probably the most unique space we have stayed in at Seaside. Up to this point, all of our rentals have been good but more traditional homes such as Lemon Tree, Enchantment, Cary Cottage etc. The Forsythe home is totally different. Filled with original artwork and designed by an architect, this space is so different. It's not for kids, but very good for adults and teens. Of note is that while very open with many many stairs, there is so much privacy. You can escape to the roof deck for an evening cocktail while watching the sun set or lounge on the day bed located there. The master bedroon on the third floor has a king bed and overlooks the center of Ruskin place and beautiful live oaks with french doors that open as desired for a view or breeze--it has it's own TvVand double closets for his and hers.
Also on the third floor is another priivate room with twins and trundle beds that will sleep 4 with neat furniture and it's own staircase to the second and first floor --but no TV. The only negative is the master bedroom has to use the very close hall bath but if you have another couple or teens that want a private bath, then it's down to the second floor for them where there is another full bath. The second floor consists of what apprears to be a studio open to the staircase, it has two twins but only curtains to provide privacy--our three teen girls used this room for dressing with their own bath but slept on the third floor and it worked out great--so we had a total of 5 staying. There is room for 8 in beds but they would be sharing 2 1/2 baths with no private baths as part of a room but it can still work.
The first floor allows for early risers to make and drink coffee while watching people pass by large double french doors facing the courtyard or watch TV. Sleepers on the third floor will not be disturbed--you have much open space and a vaulted kitchen but in it's own unique way, there is much privacy.
We would definitely stay here again, our landlord, Mr. Forsythe was nice to visit and handle all of our needs as was our property manager, Mark Mitchell--all in all, a great experience and so well located to the central square, Modica etc. If you want traditional and plain, this is not for you, but if neat, artsy, and open design appeals, book it! Also a nice back yard patio!

Wish It Were a Secret!
Whenever things get tough, I let my mind drift back to Forsythe house, wishing I could transport my body with it. If I could I would keep this wonderful retreat all to myself. We have spent several different vacations there and just cannot make ourselves wish to be anywhere else. Everything on the website is completely accurate but no photo, no words alone can convey the sense of comfort cum elegance that is the essense of a stay at Forsythe House. Living here is like finding yourself inside a museum with "touch me, use me, enjoy me" signs on everything. Julia Child would be at home in the kitchen. When we have been just the two of us, we feel romatically secluded while knowing anything we want to do is a few steps away. When we have been joined by family, including grandchildren, nieces and nephews of various ages, everyone finds their special place to be. My grandchildren especially like that they feel completely at home, whether watching TV, exploring the "jungle" just a few yards away, or playing hide 'n seek. We have praised this wonderful retreat to everyone in our family, and everyone who has seen our pictures is planning to book a vacation there as soon as possible.

Yearning to Return
Our whole family loved their vacation at Forsythe House! No written description can fully describe how stunningly beautiful this home is. It is like living inside a piece of art. And, at the same time, every moment spent their feels totally comfortable. The kitchen is fabulously furnished and really fun to make meals in. The living room furniture is elegant but it "sink-in" comfortable. The entire house is impecably maintained, clean, fresh, and bright. The house is a decorator's dream - so different from the bland furnishing of most rental houses. The owners were easily assessbile by phone to answer every little question. Our favorite pastimes were sitting on the patio, watching the world go peacefully by and retreating to the privacy of the rooftop to lay back and read. But, we also loved exploring the intriquing village of Seaside. We shopped every shop and ate at every restaurant. They were all so good, we cannot possibly name a favorite. We have travelled all over the world but have never found a more beautiful beach. Our grandson would have lived there all day if we hadn't also wanted to go hiking in the nearby preserves and parks. Bikes were easily rentable and we could ride for miles up and down the coastal highway. We dream of going back and have told everyone we know that they really couldn't have a better vacation than a stay at Forsythe House.
4.7
We Are Coming Back!
What a great place to stay! We stayed at the Forsythe House with another family and enjoyed our stay so much we are making plans to come back next year! The decor in the house has inspired me to try some of the same ideas at home. The kitchen was our favorite place to hang out, we enjoyed wonderful gourmet dinners we prepared in the fantastic kitchen, played games around the table in the evening, and we even created a display on the table of all our beach finds. The park right outside the front door gave the kids and our dog an area to romp around in and ride bikes, while the adults could relax on the front porch. The kids really enjoyed drawing on the blackboard walls of the downstairs bathroom. Sunsets viewed from the top deck while sipping wine was heaven. The beach and shopping were only a couple minutes walk from the house. We hardly drove our rental car the entire week. Our stay at the Forsythe House, was one of our most enjoyable and memorable vacations.
