About this villa rental
Quinta Ottilie is located in the Torre de Medronheira area of Albufeira within a short walk to the beach, bars, restaurants, cafes with nightlife being a twenty minute walk or short taxi ride. This large villa is ideal for families or large groups that are looking for a setting with excellent entertainment space.
The 14 bedroom recently built villa features stylish contemporary, kitchen, bathrooms, with attractive furniture furniture and accessories and can comfortably accommodate up to 34 guests
This is the ideal spot if you wish to relax and enjoy the sun, situated on a large plot there is plenty of room inside and outside for large groups to get the very best out of their holiday.
All bedrooms are air conditioned.
Property is in within easy reach of Albufeira town, & within a short walk to plenty of bars and restaurants. There is also a large supermarket approximately 5 minutes walk from the villa, and a beautiful beach approximately 10 minutes walk. The property is convenient for the best golf courses, & lovely restaurants. A wide range of sports facilities are available in Albufeira including golf courses, tennis and water sports.
As you enter Quinta Ottilie you are met with the wow factor of the airy double height ceiling with beautiful bubble chandelier and double sided staircases created so that the 1st floor can be seen and to maximise the social concept that we have tried to create when holidaying in the Algarve.
Upon entering Quinta Ottilie the beautiful and vast living / dining area opens up in front of you with access straight onto the huge sunny terrace with two fabulous pools beyond.
The villa is alarmed for your security and fitted with electric shutters in each room.
There are four spacious bedrooms on the ground floor; two on either side of the impressive entrance hall, six larger bedrooms all of which are en-suite on the 1st floor which feature either its own balcony or access to the huge terrace which runs along the full length of the villa and overlooks the pools., whilst the lower ground floor has a further four spacious en-suite bedrooms along with a games room with pool and table tennis tables for the energetic.

Bedroom 1: Features double bed & a single bed, bedside tables, fitted wardrobe and large window overlooking the lawn at the side of the house. This bedroom uses large shower room directly opposite.
Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with fitted wardrobe, bedside tables and en-suite shower room. Window looks out onto front garden.
We have created these to be flexible where Bedroom 1 and 2 can be completely independent from one another or if guests prefer it can be created to make a suite ideal for families with children.

The villa is absolute perfection for a large group trip - it is absolutely huge and the pools and outdoor facilities are wonderful. The communication with us via the company and Jim was brilliant. I raised that the pool seemed cloudy to him and the team was there within half an hour to clean the pool and it was then perfect. Jim was also able to be flexible with the check out time and we were really grateful for that. We’d definately come back!

We traveled as a large family of 28 for a 40th birthday celebration. The villa had plenty of space and was well located near to shops and restaurants and only a short taxi to the old and new towns.
We had a very comfortable stay and would recommend this property.

Great home, great amenities and great location. This was perfect to comfortably accommodate a large group of extended family. A place for all to gather, while each still enjoying their own private space. Host communication was excellent prior to and during the trip.

We had a great week staying at Quinta Ottilie to celebrate our wedding. Our wedding ceremony was held elsewhere but came back to the villa for the evening reception and it was fantastic! We had a catering and bar service team in for the wedding reception and they were able to use the space well for the meal and party. There were only 15 of us staying at the villa and it was a perfect amount of space for everyone to have their own bedroom and bathroom. The two pools and the ample sun loungers were also fantastic and we spent a lot of time out there. The balconies were also great, but it would’ve been nice to have some chairs to sit out there.
The only things we felt that didn’t give it 5 stars would be that the villa is a bit run down. The bannisters were not very secure and the cabinet doors in the bathrooms were very worn. There also wasn’t any washing up liquid, sponges or bin bags which would’ve been a nice touch but we were able to get some at the supermarket. One of the rooms didn’t have working plug sockets and one room’s bedding didn’t appear to be the most clean. The lockbox didn’t seem very secure as it would open using different codes as well. But, on the whole, the place was clean and tidy and a great place for a large group to stay in for the week!
Jim was very prompt with replies and helped us when we needed it.
We would consider coming back to celebrate anniversaries but only if it was able to be refurbished.

We stayed here as a group of nearly 30 people and had an amazing time. There was ample space for everyone and the beds were comfortable. Each bedroom has its own washroom which was much appreciated. There were no beach towels and no hand soap but grocery stores are within walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants within minutes as well. The pools were excellent. The location is a short cab ride to many sites of interest. We loved our time here!

We booked this villa for 19 of us for someone’s 60th and it was absolutely ideal in so many ways. The villa was spacious so enough room for everyone to have their own area. Very clean, fully equipped and really good sized bedrooms. Even had bbq which was perfect for the warm evenings. Located in a good area with a little local town with choice of shops/ restaurants and bars but only €6/7 euros in uber to main strip or old town which never took longer than 3 minutes to arrive to us. Jim was always at the end of the phone/ WhatsApp if we had any questions about anything. One evening, we organised for a DJ to come into the villa to do a pool party. Would highly recommend (Algarve DJ hire). Dealt with someone called Duane.
On our last day, we had to check out at 10am due to new guests arriving so booked somewhere called ‘Owen’s Ocean View Bar @ Pool on the hill’. It was perfect as we booked this for the whole day which allowed us to stay until getting picked up to go to the airport. Only €7 per sunbed for the day and it has a lovely sized pool, a little bar that serves food, drinks and snacks and also showers/ changing facility to use.
Overall, it was the most amazing holiday and would return again in the future with a big group.

Booked the villa for my friends stag do and it did not disappoint. The Villa was clean and tidy upon our arrival and was everything we were promised.
The communication with the host was second to none throughout the booking process and even during our stay.
Location is a small distance away from the nightlife (old & New) however an abundance of taxis meant we weren't waiting longer than 5 minute.
I would book this villa again in a heartbeat and would certainly recommend.

The location is fab. The facilities are great!

Absolutely beautiful property! So much space & gorgeous outside area. Was spotlessly clean as were the pools. Had an issue with the pools not being heated but Jim refunded what we paid for that straight away. Shops & restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed at Quinta Ottilie for a large family gathering and left with wonderful memories. There were large spaces for gathering and the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. It is always difficult finding a place that can fit our group (20+ ppl from ages 2-82) and meet everyone’s needs - overall we were happy with our stay.
Two considerations for future guests… first, there is a similar sized home right next door. Our next door neighbors were celebrating a bachelorette getaway and were quite loud getting home from the bars at 3am - no fault of Quinta Ottilie but worth being aware of. The second consideration is that the kitchen is quite minimally outfitted. If you plan to cook meals for your group here it may require creativity. Not huge considerations for our group but perhaps helpful for some. Overall our stay was easy, comfortable, and we would do it again.

Property was very well appointed with plenty of rooms and bathrooms as per listing so suited the flexibility of our large group well.
The bathrooms steamed up really easily and just didn't clear, as no extractors. No other mirrors in any of the bedrooms so made getting ready very challenging for all. (Full-length would have been great!)
Additional towels would have been useful as one small towel plus hand towel, per person for a week was quite challenging when there was no way to dry them. It was a shame no pool towels were available. If in doubt - I'd advise you to take plenty of your own.
It was a disappointing that a christmas tree could not be sourced, despite plenty of advance notice and requests. We have travelled the world for xmas over the last 20 years to many different countries and continents and this is the first year we have not had had a tree provided by the host.
Large living area was quite sparse, lacking soft decor, fake plants, rugs etc, - for a winter rental when this inside space is used more, it just felt sterile, and lacking atmosphere. No wood was available for the stove, but luckily we managed to source locally, and it provided some good heat.
There were a few initial issues when we first arrived but the host was amazingly responsive and had his maintenance team straight out to resolve.
We used a couple of the caterers recommended by the host that had serviced the property previously. We can HIGHLY recommend Chef Affairs.

We had the most amazing week celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary with family and friends, there were 26 of us in total and the villa was big enough so we weren’t on top of one another.
Good communication with the host and any problems were soon rectified. Close to the beach and restaurants, all of us enjoyed the pool.

Stayed for a stag do. There was 18 of us, the villa was great. Nice location (a bit out of the main part but Ubers are cheap and readily available) and the pool area made a great hub for us during the day.

Twenty-two of us had plenty of room and a great time at this villa. Unfortunately the heater in the pool broke on our second day and the water was COLD, but we still had a lot of fun. It’s handy to everything and our host Jim always quickly responded to our questions and needs.

Recently stayed at this villa with 22 males on a stag do. Villa is excellent, modern with plenty of room, plenty of bathrooms for 22 males. Two pools which are large enough and Jim kindly heated one for us. Plenty of suns beds for everyone. The villa is located about 5 minutes from the new town strip in a car and about 10 minutes from the old town. We got Ubers everywhere as cheap enough. Jim was excellent from start to finish and always replied straight away. We would definitely stay here again.

This villa was perfect for our group of 24 people - plenty of space for everyone, all the rooms were perfect and the place was clean.
Contact with the host was so easy and he always replied quickly to help us out.
Shops / cafes and beaches are really close and super easy to uber places too.

Rude and uncommunicative host, threatened to cancel our booking just beacuse I complained about not being able to get in the villa at the time which he listed, there were 24 of us on that Saturday with no where to go.
Pool filthy, sun loungers filthy, pool filters filthy. Not enough outside chairs for us and some were broken.
Decking around pool had lifted and is a trip hazard.
Upstairs shower flooded and unusable, bathroom sinks drained very slowly, no plumber was offered.
Only bath had no plug so not useable, vital with very young children.
Basement very musty and the smell got into peoples clothes, also one of the bathrooms had no hot water. No plumber was offered.
Email sent to host Jim and Columbia villas who he works for whilst were on our “so called holiday” - I’m still after being back over a week waiting to hear back………Vrbo have been next to useless and their customer support is shocking - The client is just a money making machine to them.
I have pictures, videos and WhatsApp messages to support my complaint and I’m very happy to share should anyone want to see the state of the villa they are renting.

Lovely villa well placed between Santa Eulalia and Olhos de Agua. We were a family of 25 with children aged 2-12 plus adults.
We loved the villa although did feel it needs a bit of TLC here and there.
Jim was amazing especially as our flights were cancelled 8weeks before our holiday and we needed to go a day earlier than planned.
Miguel helped with anything we needed and arranged transport to waterpark.
We also arranged for Liza to come and cook for us one night and it was superb.

The villa is beautiful and very spacious. We had plenty of room for all the guests. We were all comfortable. The location is ideal, very close to sueprmarkets, restuarants and the city centre. We will also travelled to Vilamoura and it cost only 12 euros by Bolt.
We were allowed to drop off our bags early at the property , which was very nice. Jim communicated with us very well prior to our stay.
We had a misunderstanding about our check out time, as it says by 11am on VRBO. So some of our guests were still at the property when the cleaners arrived. However, a compromise was reached and the guests were given time to leave the property.
I would highly recommend the villa.

We had a great time staying at the villa for 3 nights in March. The communication was excellent from Jim on the run up to our stay and the check in process was seamless.
Jim recommended a few great suppliers:
Miguel and Thiago who sorted taxis throughout our stay.
Anita at Sunshine catering who bought some food and drinks ahead of our stay so everything was set for our arrival.
I could also recommend the fat pig hog roast company who came in and cooked food for us at the villa.
A great villa which came exactly as described and was really spacious and perfect for a group of 30 lads - also in a great location for accessing the strip and old town.

The house was amazing - more bedrooms than we needed, most with en-suite with the others having next door access to bathrooms. The house is large, has everything that you could want or need - including a great games room with pool and table tennis.
The booking journey was easy and we had great communication and service from Jim, who arranged taxis for us, and gave all the info needed.
Only a short taxi from the main "Strip" in Albufeira, also easy access to Villamoura. Plus there are local bars and restaurants very close by, and a couple of beeches with seafront restaurants approx a 10 min walk away. We would absolutely stay again!

Fantastic amount of rooms with a great layout of beds. All but two were ensuite which is ideal as we were a group of all adults. The lounge rooms were large enough for all of us, there was plenty of plates, cups etc. Would have been good to have had plastic glasses for around the pool as we were worried we would break something. Towels were plentiful and beds were all comfy.
Would have been good to have some washing up liquid and cloths. We were only there for 3 days so it seemed excessive to buy our own. Some bathrooms did not have handsoap, and again we had to buy full bottles from the local shop, again annoying as we only used a little bit and left the rest. Some pool toys would have been great. The pools were wonderful, and a real treat having two. Plenty of comfortable outside beds.
Overall, we all had the best time and would definitely go back.

The villa was a perfect size for our party of 21. There was plenty space for all both indoors and out.
Externally- The pools provided great entertainment for our party from young to old We had one pool heated which all enjoyed and some enjoyed the chill factor in the other pool. Plenty sun beds, but the cushions on the beds have definitely not been well looked after. There was not enough outdoor dining chairs for all due to previous breakages but this was addressed when we asked. The grounds in general are very well kept. The BBQ area was ideal for what we needed. The bin area could do with much larger bins and better waste segregation given the size of the villa but the bins were emptied regularly. The villa is very secluded even though it’s next to a busy road and we were never bothered by noise. Great location for access to beach, restaurants and supermarkets. Lovely location that suited all.
Internally- huge space which allowed all the party to have peace and privacy, when required. All rooms were a super size. Bedrooms were furnished to a basic standard with no luxury factor. The beds, although not the most comfortable, were clean and well prepared. Bathrooms were large, clean and provided what was needed. One recommendation would be to have better lighting in the bathroom and a mirror in the bedroom. Air conditioning was available in all rooms and easy to use. Insect screens on doors and windows was fab - a great idea to have. All the party had a bedroom and a bathroom, which was great.
For a party of 21, the kitchen coped well. Each family group were allocated a shelf in a cupboard and a shelf in a fridge. This worked really well with space for all. The fridges were of a great size but due to previous wear and tear, will require door seal replacements as they are deteriorating. Dishwasher and washing machine were a great addition. Both the iron and ironing board need replaced as the iron was broken on arrival and the ironing board unstable. Plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery available for both inside and out.
Miguel was super at responding to messages and dealt with any requests promptly. The taxi service offered was super and made life much easier for a big party - lovely, pleasant staff.
Overall we had a fabulous time and everyone enjoyed all aspects of the villa. A very chilled experience. Some comments may sound negative but this is purely to inform. The small issues had minimal impact on a fabulous stay.
