Nice room and had character.
It was cold (13c) when we arrived and no info about how to warm the room. We eventually discovered how to operate the aircon but it still never got warm.
Carpark a little cramped.

Lovely spot within easy walking distance of Blackheath
There was a slight musty smell in the reception are- but it was pouring with rain so not unexpected in an old house

Gorgeous location and so comfortable.
Nothing at all.

The garden and patio, the room and bed, the vintage feel of the house, room and furniture. The complimentary breakfast was great too.
Nothing, could not fault it.

It was perfect. We were so exhausted from our camping trip and really needed a proper bed for ar least a night. It was everything we could have asked for. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in.
Seriously. My partner and I decided to stay in it instead of going out for dinner in the evening.
It was peaceful- tranquil and definitely worth the money!
A little smell of „old furniture“ - which makes sense I guess 😄

Amazing historic property that has been thought fully restored. Lots of attention to detail loved the French doors onto the garden which was amazing!

Rowan Brae is an absolute gem. The historic style building, manicured garden and as you’ll read below…the bed! is so comfortable you won’t want to leave. In fact, we didn’t. We choose to stay an extra night and were delighted with the service and hospitality provided by Joel. He gave us so many amazing recommendations that truly highlighted our stay in the blue mountains. Blackheath is a gorgeous town and only a few minutes walk away.
Thank you so so much for having us, we can’t wait to come back and stay again.
Nothing. The property, service and location were exceptional.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

4.5
Very clean, spacious room, comfortable, quiet, good location.

Nice place
Room service didn't clean daily but not an issue

Breakfast isn't advertised as provided. There are however several cereals and an an expresso machine in a communal kitchen. The king beds were comfortable with good quality linen and towels.
The light on the verandah outside the rooms were left on all night. These showed through the curtains. We couldn't see a way of turning them off. They were not very bright, but we would have preferred darkness at night.

Comfortable bed, quiet, nice gardens, easy to access
Small courtyard, next time I would stay at front with balcony

Charming, tastefully decorated, comfortable with handy kitchenette and beautiful garden surrounds
Space is a bit tight in the room but very well thought out.

Beautiful historic building with lovely gardens. The interiors was decorated with a combo of antiques and modern Australian art. The rooms had everything we needed and more. The bed was very comfortable with many pillow options. The bathroom was large and there were fresh flowers in the room.
There was a slightly odd aroma about the room, but this is understandable given the age of the property. They did everything they could to mask it- fresh flowers, candles and an aromatherapy diffuser. It was tolerable and the room was otherwise lovely.

Lovely oldy-worldy charm! The room was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We received excellent instructions via email and text on how to find the place. The kitchenette had good supplies for breakfast. Bed was very comfy. I think this place would be lovely to visit in the spring or summer and sit out in the garden. As it was July when we came to visit, I enjoyed the view out of the window, but it would be much nicer to sit out there!
I'm not a fan of open showers (that is with no shower screen or curtain) as it allows water to splash everywhere, and I'm not sure that anything can be done to address that. The bathroom otherwise is absolutely fine. Not a complaint, and I had a laugh at myself later, but I didn't find the control panel for the air conditioner unit until the next morning once I opened the curtains and found it obscured a bit by the curtains. I wasn't exactly cold as we had the little heater going the night before, but it was so much more cozy with the proper heating on!

This accommodation was a real treat. We were driving late, and decided to stay. The photos looked pretty, it was close, it was late, it was perfect, and exactly as advertised. In the way of the modern world, we never saw another person... but electronic communication was clear and everything went well.
Not a negative per se, but the number on the building is unreadable in the dark. So if you stay here - the accommodation is on the right hand side of the lane. It has a wooden arch over large wooden gates where the cars enter. The number is on the little plaque on the upright of the left hand gate post.

Very cosy comfortable rooms. Little kitchen is filled with breakfast necessities. Spotless!
Gorgeous old furniture in a historical house makes this visit really special .
I was disappointed to find a big bottle of Aldi body wash in the shower! Completely inappropriate in such a stylish establishment.
This is my personal opinion .
