I'm going to state right out this place needed so tlc but the manager was prompt to answer my request to stay last min as another vrbo cottage cancelled last min. I was very happy to have the place for sure. The price is fair for what you get. The small beach area is a short walk away, nice firepit area. Large enough cottage to suit 6 grown adults easy. Stove only warmed but there is a microwave :) I am so happy to have found this with-in 24 hrs of needing a place for my company. Excellent communication Thanks so much !

The property needs maintenance. A kitchen cupboard was coming off the wall. The floor was soft in several spots. In one bedroom the floor was so rotted that a bed leg went right through the floor.
There was no mention in the listing that we needed to bring our own bedding and towels. We only found that out two days before we checked in. We travelled to Ontario by plane, so this was a problem.

A very solid place to spend time with friends

This is a poorly upkept property. The "air conditioning" does not work. There is no shade at all for the cottage or the deck. The property is littered with broken glass, cigarette butts, discarded PPE, pieces of roof tile, and general garbage. The lake is inaccessible for children or older/handicapped people due to fairly steep hills of loose gravel. Parking is not allowed near the lake as the laneway is a private fire access route. There is inadequate seating in the living room. The stove has a short, and works intermittently. The surface clenliness is good, but a proper deep cleaning is needed. We left early, and have been promised a refund by the owner, but are still waiting for any further communication. The beds are comfortable, and the soaker bath is nice. The dining area is good. Everything but the lake access could be easily fixed.

Good mid-low end spot.
For the price, this was a great spot. There were two cottages being rented out on either side of us, but aside from that we had a lot of activity space, a great fire pit, a large deck, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach was fairly small and weed-y, so better for boat activities and floating than swimming.

Cottage was clean and nice, well equipped and cozy, but near by beach wasn't present at all. Went to near by provincial park beach instead. Also, drive way/parking was not safe, too stiff and rough road.

Myself and 5 friends stayed at the cabin for two nights to get together for a birthday celebration. We enjoyed our stay and the cabin fitted our needs well for the price. The host was very responsive and check in/out was very easy. The cabin was great for hosting- there was lots of common space and everyone could sleep comfortably. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, however, the oven wasnt efficient and it took a while to cook our food.
My only disappointment was the waterfront since we booked this property partially for the reason to have good swimming conditions. The walking distance to the beach was no problem, but I wouldnt say the description of the swimming area was overly accurate. It was rather quite weedy so we swam at Sharbot Lake beach close by instead. But overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The walk to the beach has a lot of really steep hills not mentioned in the description. Really difficult for young children. The cottage sits on top of a rocky hill. There’s no shade. It’s looks like there may have been but the trees died. Cottage has obviously not been maintained over the years. Right beside another cottage with a clear view of their deck for the deck of the cottage. Not worth the $. We could have stayed at a 3 bedroom cottage on a resort with climbers, easy accessible beach and ice cream shop.
