Perfect location for our day at Knepp. Beautifully decorated rooms. Love the coffee machine. Also had dinner in the pub which was fab, great food, cosy fire.
Would have liked breakfast provided

Friendly welcome, attractive decor, enjoyable breakfast (for a hamper delivery)
Water pressure in shower poor. Staff unavailable much of Sunday, had they been needed.
6.0
Location was good, pub downstairs was good.
The room was very small but well equipped . No interaction with any humans as it was self check in and a hamper breakfast to eat in your room then self check out.

My husband and Friends were walking the Downs Link, so we chose The Crown Inn as a midway point… and were delighted we had! Lovely pub with really friendly staff and great food! The rooms were decorated to a very high standard and very individual - breakfast was delivered in a hamper and was very well thought out
Nothing - it exceeded expectations!

The breakfast was excellent. Mostly homemade and very tasty.
The staff went above and beyond to help us out. The kitchen stayed open when we were let down elsewhere and they went out of their way to help our friends get back to their accomodation.

Nice and quite
Exceptional room with view
Shower room spacious
Breakfast was extra only continental

The room was beautifully decorated.
Breakfast was delivered to your room in a hamper, but there was no facilities to eat it at other than sat on your bed, which can be quite tricky when you have bowls of cereal.
The breakfast was charged at a rate of £10 per person & you were entitled to a small bowl of cereal plus & portion of bread with a slice of ham & cheese or jam. Very overpriced.
The owners entered the room to restock the coffee pods but you don't get your bed made up, very disappointing considering the price you are paying.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful bar staff. Good room and dinner. Would stay again.

All the staff were went out of their way to help. The pub was everything a village pub and rooms should be and more. We stayed to visit Knepp and for this it was a perfect location.
Would have liked a little table in the room to eat breakfast on.

Comfortable bed, clean room, fresh milk in fridge. Good choice of teas and coffee.
Hot water very slow coming from tap needs to run bit faster . Coffee machine, couldnt work out how to make water hot, coffee came out luke warm.

Room was very nicely done but small.
It was very noisy above the pub until it closed

Little touches eg homemade biscuits

Location opposite village green. Well appointed room and en suite. Comfortable bed. Excellent electric shower.
Bedside light aimed to go with decor, not for reading. I had to lift it onto my book to see the print.
Hot water tap just a trickle. The low pressure problem could be eased by clearing the sediment in the plumbing system and installing a booster pump.

Location was great for walking to nearby Knepp rewilding estate, which was the purpose of our visit.
Staff were friendly and the Hayloft was clean and well equipped.
Dinner in the garden room was good standard pub food with efficient and attentive service.
The Crown does not provide a cooked breakfast, but we were able to walk to the local Garden Centre which has a very good restaurant and provides full cooked breakfast.
The traffic noise from nearby A24 dual carriageway was pretty intrusive at night and woke us very early in the morning. This is obviously beyond the control of the Crown, but did somewhat distract from our stay.

The breakfast was fine but I couldn’t get the coffee machine to work which might have been because of the instructions and me or the machine.
The hot tap turned on the basin and Ned’s tightening up I think.

Despite being very close to busy main road, we did not hear any road noise. Lovely hamper breakfast in our room. Pretty outlook onto the village green. We had lunch at the pub. It was delicious and promptly served.

Comfortable bed. Nice outlook from room
Didn't like eating breakfast from a tray. No table and chairs to sit at and eat. Breakfast prepared the night before so bread was not very fresh.

water pressure and flow low, would of liked a power shower.

There was no hot breakfast option and this is part of the reason for my ‘fair’ review. The night before we had to put a slip into the bar by 8pm (or we would miss out) on which cereal and fruit we wanted in the morning which was left outside the room in a hamper. We asked for a banana each with breakfast and we’re given 2 very over ripe bananas that were completely black. I am not exaggerating about the state of these bananas, I couldn’t believe they would try to give these to guests.
Completely independent check in with no support whatsoever. There was absolutely no customer service. We arrived to our room at 4pm and the pub/premises were all locked up.
The breakfast was very disappointing.
We had a family room and the bathroom was not en-suite and was a dedicated bathroom across the hall. This meant that we had to unlock and leave our room in the middle of the night when needing the toilet.
There were supposed to be biscuits and tea to enjoy in the room but this was not provided.
Some of the bowls/cutlery was dirty on the room which we needed to use for our diy breakfast
