About this cottage rental

Looking for an amazing place to spend your vacation this summer? We invite you to spend a restful week in Northern Michigan on the third most beautiful lake in the world at our newly updated, comfortable family cottage on the lakefront.

The first floor features a kitchen with all new appliances that has easy service from kitchen to dining area. The large family dining table easily accommodates 12 people for meals. The downstairs living/dining area has a stunning view of the lake with a window wall across the entire front of the house. You will love sitting at the table with your cup of coffee watching the lake every morning.

The spacious living room has a stunning rock fire place with plenty of comfortable seating and blankets. There’s a smart tv with Apple TV attached for those cool evenings or rainy days and a cupboard full of board games for those who have a competitive spirit. Attached off the dining area is a sun porch with a door that can be closed. Perfect for those days you have to do some remote work or if you just need a quiet place to sit and read.

The cottage has a spacious wrap around deck with furniture that is perfect for sitting and soaking in the sun and the view at all hours of the day. A hammock tucked under the trees overlooks the lake and is the best place for reading….or for taking a nap. An outdoor swing overlooks the dock and is a favorite place to sit and watch the sun go down while sipping on a glass of wine from a local winery. Your kids will love roasting marshmallows at the fire pit on chilly evenings.

The lake is literally 50 feet from the front deck; there you have access to a small waterfront beach, a large sandbox with sand toys for the kids, a canoe, and a couple of poke boats. There’s also a dock with a bench and a tie-out anchor for your boat. The swimming is unparalleled as is boating, sailing, skiing, and tubing with your own boat. There are boat rental places around the lake and a few public boat launches if you decide to bring your own.

Torch Lake is conveniently located close to Traverse City, Leelanau, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Charlevoix, and Petoskey. There are several very good hiking trails close by and the options for different day trips are endless. If golfing is your hobby there are 10 world-class golf courses within close driving distance. The local breweries, wineries, and restaurants feature delicious and unique food and drink. You definitely won’t want to miss out on the fresh fruit that changes with the seasons from the surrounding nearby orchards.

Come experience the "Caribbean" of North America with a crystal clear lake and the best sunsets in Michigan. You'll be coming back for years to come.

We had an absolutely incredible time at the CarVer house! The cabin is nestled in the trees right on Torch Lake. We spent our days relaxing, swimming, or going out on one of the paddle boards, poke boats, or canoe. There was lots to do in the area with a scenic drive to Charlevoix or other towns around the lake, but we truly didn't need to leave the little paradise made at this home. The house and the low night light lake was the perfect location to view the Perseids meteor shower. We even got to see the Northern Lights one night and got a visit from a bald eagle. The location is also perfect to watch the sunset from the dock immediately to the west. The kitchen was well equipped to prep meals for 10. If you don't want to cook, there are great restaurants like Shorts or Dockside in Bellaire a quick drive away. And don't miss out on a pie from Friske Farms! The sink in every bedroom was so convenient for getting ready in the morning or for bed. If the weather turns to rain, it doesn't stay that way for long. The living room was there for the respite with very comfy furniture and AppleTV for entertainment. It has only been a few days since we got back to the city and we can't wait to book another trip back!

We were looking for a place for a family trip with my three adult children and their significant others, and this place was perfect! The property is a little secluded from the main road and between little towns, and this is exactly what we were looking for. There are neighboring cabins but not too close. The house was very clean and had plenty of sleeping room and public space for the eight of us. There is no air conditioning but there are so many windows that it was never an issue. Carl provided more necessities than any other place I've stayed in, including toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, towels, etc. He even let us use the firewood on the property! He was also very responsive with any questions we had. We rented a boat for a few days and were able to moor it to the buoy on the property without issue. We definitely would love to come back to this property!

Great place to stay. It had so many amenities. Plenty to do in the beautiful Torch Lake. Kitchen was well furnished and the new appliances were a nice surprise. Plenty of rom for the 10 of us to spread out, both inside and outside.

We have rented in this area for over 50 years, and this house is one of the nicest. The house itself was very comfortable and nicely appointed with furniture and appliances. We were especially impressed with having a sink in every room, we've never seen that before, but it was a wonderful convenience. There was a lot of space for everyone to enjoy whatever activity they wanted, both inside and outside. They provided a lot of nice bath amenities, an abundance of fluffy towels, and plenty of kitchen supplies. We were a family of 7, but the beds can easily handle10. A floating raft and paddle boats were available for extra fun. Highly rated!
