The Village at Sugarplum Condominiums are ski in/ski out to Snowbird. You don't need to be an expert skier but, you do need to be an intermediate skier to be able to take advantage of this access. So, how do you ski to Snowbird? The Village is located at the very end of Blackjack Road. The trail to Snowbird starts at the end of this road and is called the Condo Bypass on the Snowbird trail map. The Condo Bypass is a short run that joins up with the bottom of Whodunnit. From there it is a short distance to Peruvian Express, The Snowbird Center and Tram or you can make your way over to the Wilbere Lift or the Gad Valley (Gadzoom and Midgad Lifts). So...basically, you walk out the door to The Village at Sugarplum, walk up to the Condo Bypass trail and put on your skis. To ski back to The Village, you can take either the Peruvian Express or Tram and then follow the signs for the "Fun Run" or Chips – this is marked with blue trail markers. Follow this down to Whodunnit – this will initially be a cat track. You want to stay on the cat track when Whodunnit turns downhill and you will be back at your starting point.
And how do you get to Alta? The Alta Resort Shuttle has a pick up spot right outside the door to the Village at Sugarplum Condominiums. This shuttle makes a continuous loop of the Bypass Road during daytime hours. The shuttle runs continuously during the day. It will typically take just a few minutes to get up to the Collins or Sunnyside base areas at Alta. After skiing, you can utilize this same shuttle to bring you back to the property or you can ski home from Alta via an off-piste advanced run. The Alta Resort Shuttle runs between mid December to early April only.
Special Notes: As with any of the runs at Alta and Snowbird, access is based on the current conditions. When looking at a Snowbird trail map, Whodunnit is in the lower left corner.

Four Star
We had a great time and the accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Access to Snowbird was easy. The support staff was helpful and responded very quickly to any questions we had. We will definitely go back!

Three Star
On the plus side: Great location! Convenient and easy to get on/off Snowbird. The shuttle to Alta comes right to the door. Comfortable beds. Room for improvement: Overall the townhouse is dated, tired and worn. The bunkbed height is very low (i.e. you can sit up without hitting your head), so they are really intended for younger children. One of the bedrooms is off the bunk room so you have 6 - 8 people potentially sharing one bathroom. Pots and pans are old and food stuck to several of them when cooking.

Great Week at Alta Chalets
We received fantastic service from Lauralee and Jason who were reachable, directly, seemingly 24/7, both before we got there and while we we there. The home was ski-in from both Alta and Snowbird. From Alta there was a marked (red tag on tree branch) lonely-at-times traverse; return from Snowbird is pretty direct, each followed by ~75ft walk to front door. Ski out to Snowbird is simply a walk to the end of the road (~200ft) and then ski directly to the tram or any of 3-4 different lifts. Alta could be reached by shuttle or a 3min drive to ticketing/base lift. Indoor parking for a single car was very convenient. we left a second car at the Cliff lodge valet about 2min away for $20/day...also very convenient, they had car ready at 5am the day we left. Jason changed hot tub water before we arrived and checked on it while we were there...very nice. View was as good as they advertise. Truly a great week.
