Magnifique !

En voyage en famille de 4 adultes, nous avons occupés 2 bungalows côte à côte (belle déco et douche absolument originale !) Quel calme !Un séjour reposant bercé par les chants des oiseaux. Merci à toute l’équipe pour l’accueil et les bons conseils pour optimiser notre séjour . Les meilleurs petits déjeuners de tout notre trip ! Nous prions pour que Bacalar garde son authenticité actuelle loin du tumulte de Tulum ou Cancun.

Une barre dans la salle de bain pour suspendre les serviettes serait très utile mais c’est vraiment un détail

An amazing little paradise in Bacalar paradise!

Very well kept gardens and lovely set up of the cabins. The little room was small but super cozy and tidy. Very clean place and good lighting. The aircon was fantastic and the shower with the a little private garden view was a nice treat. The place is in a main road across the lagoon, very accessible and quiet. Walking distance to Maracuya a public lagoon access and a bit of a long walk to town like 20 minutes. The bed was comfy and because they’re little cabins you don’t hear the neighbours. Breakfast was included and it was delicious, they catered for vegan options with no issues. All the staff was amazing, so helpful and kind. We’re definitely coming back any time!

Mooi verblijf op fijne plek in Bacalar. Dichtbij alles.

Prachtige huisjes, heel sfeervol. Leuk klein complex aan de leuke kant van Bacalar, met aan de overkant van de weg restaurants en beachbars aan het meer. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, goed bed en zeer netjes.

Eigenlijk niets, als je dan iets moet zeggen: De grote weg achterlangs is hoorbaar ‘s nachts.

Relaxt verblijf

Alsof je in de jungle zit. Hele fijne huisjes met een veranda. Goed zwembad. En de de eigenaren doen er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Je wordt altijd begroet met een grote glimlach. Ontbijt fantastisch.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend. Sweet hotel with spacious private rooms. A bit out of the main town but easily walkable and plenty to see and do nearby. Staff were very helpful and adaptable; did our laundry washing, changed breakfast times to suit our transport and recommended some great excursions.

Superbe lieu de quiétude au sein d’un jardin luxuriant

Pour les amoureux de beaux lieux calmes, à l’abri des effervescences, Zensus et son adorable équipe est à vos petits soins tout au long de notre séjour, dans un cadre magique et verdoyant, juste en face de la lagune. On se sent chez soi, avec José, le maître des lieux, adorable et attentionné ! Laura, qui vous accueille dès votre arrivée est également d’une rare bienveillance ! Un lieu plein de charme et de quiétude. Je recommande vivement !

I would love to give a higher rating to this hotel but unfortunately I can’t. I’d probably give it a 6 or a 7 if it wasn’t for the incredibly kind and hospitable hosts who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Their welcoming and friendly attitudes were incredibly comforting and put a smile on our faces every day. Sadly, we were left disappointed by most other aspects of the hotel considering the money we paid. For a start, the WiFi stopped working on the second day of our stay and was never repaired until we checked out 4 days later, even though the staff told us it would be fixed no later than the next day. Secondly, our bed sheets were dirty upon arrival and our room had a fairly unpleasant smell. Staff addressed the dirty sheets promptly and tried to resolve the smell but unfortunately it persisted. In general the hotel was tatty and needed a lick of paint and a real freshen up. The pool was aesthetically pleasing and was cleaned daily but unfortunately the canopies of the trees overhead meant it got no sun, so we didn’t use it at all. We’ve been staying in hostels throughout the trip and booked this hotel expecting something a bit more upmarket, but it simply didn’t deliver. Overall we had an enjoyable stay thanks to the brilliant staff, but they have been let down by the owners who need to invest in some refurbishments, better facilities and working WiFi. Given the price of a night’s stay, I think you can probably find better value hotels by staying somewhere with direct access to the lake

Great stay in Bacalar!

Best breakfast we had in Mexico! The staff was lovely! I liked being in that section of the lake - it was quiet and that's where our sailing trip took off from. It would have been nice to be right on the shore, but Zensus was a great value and I would stay there again if we went back to Bacalar.

Rundum empfehlenswert (mit Auto)

Schönes Boutique Hotel am Rand von Bacalar. Zimmer/Häuser sind sehr süß und mal etwas anderes. Personal ist mega nett und das Frühstück, mit Früchten, Haferflocken und danach eine Auswahl an verschiedenen Speisen echt lecker. Wer mobil ist (da Zentrum und Bootanleger doch etwas weg sind) ist hier genau richtig. Haben unsere Bootstour sponatn vor Ort gebucht und das Hotel hat uns super unterstützt dabei.

very cute place and little bungalows. breakfast was also nice and the very gentle staff

the bathroom has just a ventilator and it gets very stuffy and after a shower we had smell of sewage coming up

Sin dudas repetiría

La atención del personal es magnífica, tienen una actitud increíble. Los desayunos están de 10.

La cama estaba ligeramente con polvo, y hubo una noche en la que nos quedamos sin agua. Fueron detalles realmente menores, se corrigieron de inmediato. Si fuera con mi novia a Bacalar repetiría definitivamente.

Nette Unterkunft in Bacalar mit Nähe zu Beachs-Clubs und Restaurants.

sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Parkplatz vorhanden. Sehr nette Gastgeber. Frühstück lecker. Sehr schöner Beachclub "Blue" in der Nähe der Cenote Azul mit Lagunenzugang vorhanden.

Kein direkter Lagunenzugang vorhanden (aber nahe Beach-Clubs!). Stauraum im Zimmer fehlt.

We had a great time there, beds were comfortable and ac worked great.

Close to everything, Pool was excellent and very pleasant. Jose Luis, Laura and Reyna were very attentive and always with a friendly smile. Would come again.

Ants, but I understand we are in a very Tropical environment.

Great hospitality, magical place!

Jose and his team were so friendly, hospitable and helpful. Room was great size, air con was fantastic and adjacent to the lake. Great place to stay!

Slightly far from the centre, cabs/ bikes would be a bonus but within about 20/30 min walk from the centre of Bacalar.

Little paradise!

Everything! The place is wonderful, so well maintained, the staff is so nice, they really do everything to make us feel at home, the room is really well decorated, this place is like a little heaven, I recommand it!

Everything ! The bungalows are very clean and well decorated. The owner and the staff is very friendly. Bacalar is really a little paradise. We liked the location because it is 15min from town center by walking but the access to the laguna with day pass in the hotels of the area worth it. The breakfast is tasteful.

Nice accommodations and personalized service

The owner greeted us and check in was quick and easy. The grounds were well kept. Cabin was simple and clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good

No view of the lagoon. But that was not a big deal since we’ve been to Bacalar before and this time we were just passing through on our way to Belize

This is a little gem of a place. On the other side of the road from the beach so a lot cheaper than the beach front hotels. Easy short walk to plenty of bars and restaurants. Quiet, clean and exactly like the photos.

Nice small cabanas with pretty bathroom give you the impression you shower in the garden. Very nice staff and owner who serves a great breakfast. Can fully recommend this place

Nothing, with the exception hat it is not directly at the Lake but in 2. Row. In our case we appreciated it, becaude it was very windy from the lagoon.

The greatest host

We spent great two nights at Zensus Hotel. The place is quiet, peaceful and we met the kindest and most devoted host : José. The breakfast is great ! Highly recommended for anyone who would like to enjoy a few days in Bacalar and meet a beautiful soul. Thank you for everything José !

A rip off!

There was a double booking for our room. We offered to leave so the other couple could stay. The only problem was that we had already paid. We contacted the headquarters of Zensus and they offered us a refund. But we never received it! And now they don't respond to any of our messages. They clearly ripped us off. In addition the cottages don't look like the pictures aymore. Those were taken a long time ago. It needs renovation. There is rust everywhere and the shower smells really bad.

The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful, a genuinely kind person.

Only that it’s not located on the side of the lake, but it’s also much cheaper than the ones on the lake.
