We loved our vacation if I could change anything at all it would be a bigger refrigerator other than that it was excellent

I had the opportunity to look at the apartment before booking, so I mostly knew what I would get and chose to go for it. The first impression is great - it looks bright, clean, new, and well maintained. For me, the location was great. The airport, where I took flight training, is 5 minutes by car. The beach is 10 minutes. Downtown St. Augustine is about the same. St. Augustine is certainly a pretty little town. There is a great seafood store 5 minutes walk from the apartment with tons of fish and mussels. A Winn-Dixie is 2 minutes by car. It doesn't have the greatest selection, but will do for everyday needs. The street is very quiet and safe.
For a short stay of a few days, clearly this is a wonderful place. I stayed for two months and some things, which are not a big deal for a short stay, are more troublesome for a long stay.
- A busy rail line is maybe 1000 ft away, and the horn of passing trains can blast away any time during day or night. Personally, I can sleep through a nuclear war, but my gf had to stick ear protectors into her ears.
- The "kitchenette" truly deserves the suffix "ette". The fridge is microscopic, requiring daily supply runs to Winn-Dixie. There is practically nothing to cook with. I ended up buying a two-plate induction stove and matching pots and pans, but power outlets are as rare as hen's teeth in the apartment, so I had to buy a bunch of extension cords for good measure. Clearly, cooking is not being encouraged.
- The smoke detector is right above the toaster, which actually has a useful side effect, namely it will loudly announce to you and the neighbours when the toast es ready. I ended up moving the toaster to a quieter part of the room.
- The windows seemingly did not get cleaned since Adam ate his first apple, the balcony window being the laudable exception.
- The shower did not drain properly until my gf fished enough hair of previous occupants from the drain to make up at least 5 baroque age wigs.
- The balcony fan fails in its role to chase the no-see-ums away, as the blades scrape against the wall. I lived with the bugs rather than risk cutting off the roof.
- The kitchen lamp is in a perfect position to bump into your head each time you get up from the kitchen table, most likely so you don't fall asleep immediately after a meal.
- There is no extra bedding, and there is no washer / dryer in the apartment, even though there would be enough space to have those.
- I am running out of space here, so let me finish by saying that the phrase "veni, vidi amavi" on one wall is cute, but translated wrong.

Loved the style of apartment and how easy it was to check in and use all of the appliances.
Extra toilet paper, we had 4 girls for 3 days and and 2 roll, we ran out on the last night but really not a huge deal
