It’s close to sp nice restaurants by the beach
Looking old and worn. Staff went very friendly. Had to pay £10 a day for parking, beds were so uncomfortable however they did give us mattress toppers to help, was still very uncomfortable though. The smaller (kids) pool wasn’t very clean.

It was a lovely location and the Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful .
The food was excellent and the entertainment was good
The room we stayed in was small and dated but it was comfortable . Parking charges - as we booked with Booking.com and not directly with the Hotel we were paying £10.60 a day in parking

Staff hard working cheery very very helpful
Clean room but small
Car parking now controlled ✔️
Aztec bar terrace staff food and drink excellent
Food in the main dinning room tasteless poor quality and over priced for the £24.50 supplement very disappointing

Facilities was brilliant for family short break trips, staff and house keeper was very good and friendly, however the hotel was situated in the main road so expected quite a noise all the time, Derwent hotel is nice and clean but room is quite old, update the room would be long term benefit
We just couldn’t sleep as noise at night

Helpful staff when booking. Paid parking and for breakfast but after a few hours we had to leave due to a family emergency handed our room card back to the gentleman on reception and asked about our refund for the breakfast we wouldn’t be there for and parking was told manager would be in contact as they have our details still no contact even after sending email and calling requesting a call back.
Bedroom very small, when sitting on toilet knees touching the door, curtains hanging off, having to walk through the dining room while people are eating to get to our room number 70. If we hadn’t had to leave urgently I would have requested a move as couldn’t have stayed in that room for 4 nights especially as it was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Also very disappointed that the manager has not made contact as promised.

The room was small and the bed uncomfortable,we also found out that we were over charged for our stay, car parking cost £20 for the two nights. Will not be going back and will not use booking.com again

Facilities for children were great indoor pools soft-play alot of them to do even if the weather was bad
Breakfast was basic - not enough options and extremely oily
Rooms were dated
Stairs were very narrow

Close ish to the beach and shops and restaurants.
Bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have e we slept in woke up in pain every morning from the springs digging in. Mattress must have been over 10 years old! Room was dirty. Towels and bedding stained on arrival. There was dust visible on the sides and when you wiped your finger across it it was on your fingers. The fan was disgusting!! The dirt and dead skin cells in there from other people was vile. We had to take the cover off and wipe it over 3 times! Else it was not useable! The radiator was rusting and had paint peeling off. There were stains on the floor. The chairs leather was flaking off. There was people smoking weed which was wafting into our room at night whilst our 4 year old slept. Who would have been inhaling it! The door was left open and not pulled shut when our room was cleaned one day by the cleaners leaving it open to anyone to take our stuff whilst we were out for the day. There was a bag of dirty cloths left in our room when we came back by the cleaners. There were poo specks in the toilet when we first checked into our room showing it wasn’t cleaned properly. When you are trying to sleep the other guests are so loud and walls so thin. The doors are slamming, people banging about, shouting; laughing, and walking past drunk. My daughter was woken up from her sleep multiple times: also delivery lorries outside the window sometimes as early as 6am which wakes you up. We brought some of this up with a staff member and he said wasn’t interested basically. So will be writing an email of complaint.

Good

location and the main indoor pool
we’re good
everything was very very dated. lifts took forever to work and were tiny. breakfast was terrible and no hot water for 2 out of 3 days for showers. had a twin room and the two beds made it look like a double smallest room I’ve stayed in
3.5
The Aztec swimming facilities are excellent. The ability to move easily from one venue in the group to another was good.
The menu at the main restaurant at the Derwent was unexciting.
3.5
The breakfast cost just under 20 pounds for the two of us and the quality was terrible would of rather spent 5 pounds at McDonald’s from service to the dishwater coffee to the meat and the cooking premier inn which is sea front is cheaper and so much better it’s hard to explain I guess as far apart as chalk and cheese
Everything rooms were not clean out dated thin walls so up all night because of noise way to hot shower dosnt drain so after my partner had a shower I couldn’t
Even the cups on the tea tray were dirty and no spoons not that I would of had tea any way in the cups provided
When we complained at the hotel we got nothing no explanation no way to make it better

close to everything lots to do evening entertainment good
3.5
So much to do, even on a rainy day. The children loved the organised events and entertainment.
We didn’t feel that the evening meals were good value for money as the choices of mains and starters were quite limited and there wasn’t an option to pay for two courses only.

Pool and associated facilities
Starting to look tired in places across the THL complex. Tables in restaurant appeared sticky ( member of the restaurant management team explained it was due to the cleaning fluids used. Charge for gym as resident (albeit they say small £3 day) was petty.

the room service
the stairs into the property. no one stated there was another way in or out.

the choice of food wasn’t very good for children

Bed uncomfortable you could feel springs & did not get a good nights sleep. Room very small & clostrophobic small window didnt open much if there was a fire you wouldnt get out!! Shower trickled & Shower cubicle in need of deep clean. Paintwork throughout hotel needs redoing. Couldnt always find a waitress to order food that had to be ordered by waitress & food was not good quality. Our friends curtain backing was falling apart and informed front desk & someone came & ripped half of it off and said cant fix it now & left it. Someone else we spoke to knew about bedding springs so why has nothing been done about it!!! Will not be returning again.
