About this cabin rental
Blue Moon is a stunning 6 bedroom, 6 bath (4 full and 2 half baths) just under 4,300 sq. foot lodge with over 4,000 sq. feet of covered porch located in the beautiful Hidden Valley community. It sleeps 26 in beds. With 5 of the bedrooms having king size beds, full dressers and large closets, it's perfect for large groups or multiple families to share and still have plenty of private space. The 'Eagles Nest' is the perfect space for all the kids. Two queen over queen bunk beds, two twin over twin bunk beds a half bath and a TV with DVD player will have them fighting over who gets to stay up there! We have recently installed separate A/C units for each level, so you can now control the temperature of each level independently.
The main level has a gourmet kitchen equipped with everything you'll need to cook that award winning meal for the entire group. The open kitchen/living room lets the cook be part of all the activity even while preparing their masterpiece! If grilling is your specialty, you'll love to be on cooking duty with our 6 burner propane grill (propane provided). With indoor seating for 16 and multiple outdoor tables, there's plenty of room for everyone to eat at the same time.
Head down to the lower level and let the fun begin! The game room is equipped with a pool table, air hockey table, ping pong, darts, and foosball. The main gathering space has 3 full size couches, a kitchenette with full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and corner bar. There are plenty of board games, card games and movies to entertain for hours.
If the inside space isn't enough, move on out to the 4,000+ sq. feet of covered porch. With breathtaking views of Crabtree Bald, hot tub, tons of rocking chairs, tables, games, etc., you may not want to go back inside! Start a camp fire at the large fire pit and let the stories begin. If the chairs are not already around the fire pit, they should be stacked underneath the porch just to the side of it.
The location of this lodge allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the smoky mountains while still being close to Asheville, Waynesville and Maggie Valley. We are surrounded by a multitude of mountain activities such as hiking, zip lines, white water rafting, tubing, fishing, waterfalls, skiing, and elk viewing. The amazing Biltmore Mansion is only 35 miles away. Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Ocanaluftee Indian Village are within a scenic hour drive. You can also enjoy the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg, TN which can be reached in 1 1/2 hours.
Please note, this is our family's home. We are very dedicated to keeping this lodge extremely well equipped and will continue to improve the amenities so that you will want to come back year after year. However, in order to do this, we need quality and like minded renters. If you are looking for a great home away from home, we'd love to share ours with you! If you're looking for a place to drink excessively, play loud music, let the kids run wild, or have a crazy uncle Bob that likes to shoot guns off the porch, please go ahead and mark this rental off your search!!
We are located in a quiet mountain community with many local residents. We observe community outside quiet hours of 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Violation of this noise ordinance may result in immediate termination of your stay with no refund.
Blue Moon is accessible by wheelchair via the ramp, however only the main level is accessible, as the upper and lower levels are only accessible via stairs. The driveway is gravel as well, in case that may pose any issues.
Please respect the speed limit and other drivers on the road up the mountain. (Due to potential snow in the winter months, trip insurance and/or 4 wheel drive is highly recommended for winter rentals)

Me and my best buddies in the world (12 of us!) made a 6 day motorcycle trip using this wonderful property as our "home" each night. I can't say enough positive things about the entire experience. We had an absolute fabulous time. Thank you so much Brett for opening up your wonderul home to us!

We celebrated our Mother’s 80th birthday here with our whole family! Kitchen with everything you need! Super amazing bunk-bedroom where all the young girls stayed! We had the best time ever!

We were very happy with this cabin for our friend reunion weekend. It was very clean and there were plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The host communicated with us promptly when we had questions or concerns. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to a friend.

Blue moon was a great experience for my group. It’s divided into two homes with the eagles nest on the upper level. The wrap around porches were a hit with all of the guys. Spacious and well equipped; I would definitely recommend this one for every age group. Thanks for letting us enjoy your Home !!!!

We have stayed at this cabin in the past and it doesn't disappoint! Comfortable space for multiple families and about 30 minutes from Maggie Valley. We go hiking each year, riding stable also close as well.

This was the perfect home to host a short getaway with a group of friends. Five small families (each with 1-2 young children) all stayed together, and it was SO comfortable. The rooms are spacious, the living areas were open, and FIVE KING BEDS was the cherry on top. We had room to spread out without anyone feeling isolated. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and the wide variety of entertainment options kept everyone happy. The only negative we could find about the property was that the drive in was a tight gravel road that was pretty steep. It didn’t give us any trouble, but also isn’t ideal for anxious drivers (or passengers!). But honestly, the view was worth it! This also isn’t the best location if you absolutely need to have access to cell service. A landline is available in the cabin though and you can get service within a mile or so of the house. Overall, fantastic home in a beautiful location with everything you might need. If this house is available, we will 100% return for another vacation with friends!

The cabin was perfect for our family. It had many extras that we didn’t expect such as hotel
shampoos and lotions. The kitchen was stocked well with cooking needs.

Pros:
The house is very large. Comfortable beds for people. We comfortably fit 4 vehicles there. 2 Large open kitchen and living room areas on lower and middle floor! Great for family time!
Large wrap around porches with plenty of space for cooking/eating/etc.
Owners were friendly and called to let us know we could check in early! They had 2 high chairs that were a huge help for us. Fun pool table, Hot tub and ping pong.
Cons:
Wifi was not the best. The satellite TVs didn’t work great either and zero cell service at the cabin….but sometimes that isn’t always a bad thing! Air hockey table didn’t blow air very well but still usable.

Our college and young professional group takes an annual trip to the mountains, and we were thrilled with this spacious house! We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy Bible studies together. The hosts are very accommodating and keep in touch to make sure you have everything you need. It's reasonably secluded without being too far away from anything, and the views and the hot tub were awesome!

We planned a small family wedding where family and friends stayed the weekend with us. The home was perfect for our event! The hosts were so communicative and kind. The house was perfect for cooking hanging out and even a small wedding “reception” we had the time of our lives and the home was perfect for our small dream wedding

We had reserved this cabin for a lot of our family who was coming to my daughters wedding in Asheville. We all had a great time in the cabin. The property is beautiful, the property is exactly as is pictured online. This is a great place to just relax, and enjoy family time or time with friends. I would highly recommend if you’re in that area and looking for a large cabin for a large group of people, that this is a place for you to go to be peaceful, and just enjoy yourself. The last mile and a half drive to the cabin is on a very narrow road which is 2 way traffic, but very difficult to get 2 vehicles on it, other than that, no issues at all with the cabin.

Large, clean, and lots of amenities. Great communication from the host! Thank you!!

We took a girl’s trip to the mountains and this cabin had everything we needed and then some! The bedrooms were large and the bathrooms were plentiful for a group of 7 women.
We enjoyed the clean hot tub, the morning coffee chats and the evening sunsets all on the porch.
As to be expected, the internet / cell service was sparse, but you rent homes in the mountains to be disconnected from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature and the ones you are traveling with.
We would definitely rent this home again on our next trip to the Asheville area!

We had a great time with our family of 14. The two full wraparound porches gave lots of outdoor enjoyment even when it rained. The game room was a lot of fun. Plenty of towels and great water pressure. We took day trips to Grandfather Mountain, Botanical garden and checking out some of the many local breweries. We also got a fantastic family picture by a hugh tree at the Bird Sanctuary.

This house was tucked away in the mountains as promised. The views were amazing from the TWO wrap around decks. The house was clean and gorgeous with all amenities needed to relax. Plenty of room for 10 of us staying. Brett and Stephanie were always there to answer any questions immediately. Thank you for a great stay!

We so much enjoyed our stay as we came from many distance locations to enjoy a family reunion in North Carolina. We are the grandparents of 11 and parents to 4. Each of our children are married and we had a total of 20, all but one granddaughter that were able to attend. One family came from Maryland, one from Pennsylania, one from Utah, one from Hawaii and we came from South Dakota. It was a marvelous week and we were grateful for the hospitality of this home. There was plenty of room and the cousins were able to keep them selves busy almost the entire time. When we had issues with light bulbs and outlets, they were addressed quickly. Thank you for allowing our family to be a part of that location for our week.

Our daughters and their families headed to this cabin to reconnect. This cabin was spacious and the location was serene. The mountains were majestic. The kitchen was well equipped, beds we’re comfortable, the game room areas kept the kiddos of all ages entertained. The cabin was within an hour drive to Ashville and hiking areas.
I cannot say enough about how great the hosts were!!!

The house is large and in a private location. We had a lot of sleeping space.
Two kitchens came in handy. The main one was very well equipped.
We spent a lot of time out on the deck that had 2 picnic tables. The owners and property manager were quick to respond. There is a bump in the road getting to the property that had to be approached slowly at an angle. There is a ramp for easy unloading/ loading. Spent several evenings at the fire pit. Fun location.

This home is ideal for family gatherings! The lower level provided hours of entertainment with a ping pong table, pool table, foosball and air hockey!
The views from the deck and yard were amazing. We appreciated the high chairs and large picnic tables on the deck. All 23 of us ate every meal together on the deck!
The area is perfect for family adventures. ( the family favorite was the sliding rock)
Brett and Stephanie were very accommodating and gracious . Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

We booked for our Mom’s 65th birthday getaway and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners were very communicative throughout the entire process. As previously mentioned, there’s a bit of a climb to the cabin but we expect this any time we’re staying in a cabin. We knew what to expect and limited nighttime driving. There was so much space and room to spread out. I’m a planner so we had plenty of toiletries and paper products for our stay. Read and reread your welcome email. The home was clean and cozy. The pull out beds were a plus when we had a teenager who refused to sleep in a room full of kids. When the kitchen lost partial power during breakfast prep, our contact answered quickly and guided us to the breaker box. This is definitely a cabin to unplug. There are certain spots where you can get a signal but the majority of the group only had service at the bottom of the hill. This information was shared before we arrived so we were not surprised. The majority of us found it refreshing to unplug, but the younger generations not so much. We found a caterer who delivered a delicious birthday meal so check out Chef Michael’s Catering if that’s something you’re interested in. The trash was the only inconvenience. I knew we would need to take our trash to the convenience center but I expected a larger trash can on the premises. Perhaps one or two large receptacles on the property would cut down on frequent trips to the dump until departure day. Would definitely stay here again!

Four families comfortably stayed at this property as the wives were coming for the Asheville half marathon! Top notch house. Not great internet, but we didn’t come to be on our devices! So much fun, great space, view, etc.

We were a group of 17 ladies aged 24-62 celebrating our friend/daughter/niece/cousins bachelorette weekend. Many of us are local to the Asheville and Raleigh/Durham area, while others flew in from all over. The house is immaculate! We had plenty of space to sleep and move around. The hot tub was nice and warm when we got there; downstairs game room was definitely a good time. We used the ping pong table like it was our business! Family dinner was easy and the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans for cooking. The two giant fridges were definitely a plus! It was a bit chilly but we quite enjoyed the wrap around porches for hanging. The owners were amazing and so on top of everything. At first check in, we couldn’t get the code to work. I called the owner and he picked up right away and walked us though it. They not only gave us an early check in since no one had it the day before us, but there was some bad weather coming through and they called us to let us know, as well as told us not to worry about check out time, just to be safe getting down the mountain. We talked about doing this annually going forward - that’s how much we loved it!

The cabin was very beautiful and spacious. We all had a lot of fun. Communication with the owner was A+. We had issues with the outlets in the kitchen tripping and the owner was super helpful to help us get it fixed right away. We did have issues with the dryer. It would only get hot on the sanitize setting (all other settings wouldn’t even get warm). The WiFi/internet didn’t really work but that was to be expected and the owner explained that to us. A few tiles on the kitchen floor were completely loose and cracked as well. The covered deck was huge and stunning. Overall, we had a great stay.

The property was just as we expected! Very spacious bedrooms, plenty of kitchen space (and fully stocked with anything you need to cook) and the basement will keep you busy! Hot tub was easy to operate and the water was perfect. The host even contacted us during our stay to check in (due to snow storm).
This property is recommended; we can’t wait to go back.

To say that our stay at Blue Moon Lodge was wonderful is an understatement! Four generations of our large family (18 total) stayed here for three nights and we have nothing but good things to say about this amazing place. The lodge was clean and furnished in a way that made us feel like we were in a “real” home. (The hosts even had several gorgeous full-size Christmas trees decorated for us!) The view from the balconies was awesome also and the hot tub was nice.
Surprisingly, even with our big family, we never ran out of hot water and there was a ton of towels; the bedrooms/baths are large; the kitchen/dining/gathering spaces were perfect for our diverse age groups. The teens LOVED the game room with the pool table & ping pong. The only drawback is getting to the lodge itself, but it was no worse than other cabins we’ve rented in mountainous areas, and even with 4 cars we had ample parking. Would we recommend this place? Absolutely! Would we rent it again? Definitely!
(The owner, Brett, called to check in with us to see if there was anything we needed and to apologize for a cracked tile in the kitchen that was scheduled to be replaced before our visit. That was very considerate & much appreciated.)

our stay at the house was fantastic. This was the first time we had this particular group of family together in more than 10 years. Everyone had enough room to move about and have their own space. will admit, the driveway down to the house was a little scary especially on the first attempt. You really felt like you were driving off a cliff!! The drive into the house also a bit bumpy! The house itself great. Good view, very clean.

This home worked perfectly for our multi-generational family Thanksgiving. There was plenty of space to gather together to eat and socialize as well as enough space to take time apart from each other. I loved that the home was decorated throughout for the fall - beautiful touch.
The owners and management folks are very responsive. They quickly answered all my questions and even helped me find a local photographer to capture our whole family on the expansive deck with the beautiful mountain tops in the background.
This home is a great place to relax, unwind, and disconnect.

Pros:
We used this property to house 19 people for 3 nights and there was more than enough room. The cabin was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The host gave us a call to ensure all was well, and it was much appreciated.
Cons:
The only issue we had was lack of toilet paper and the trash situation. We certainly didn’t mind supplying those items ourself, but we thought the host should have notified us prior to our stay that we only get 2 rolls per bathroom. Also, it’s not the host fault by any means, but the trash drop off situation is hard when your hosting so many people. We had a bunch of trash from Saturday night we ended up taking home with us because the drop off location wasn’t open on Sunday when we checked out. Lastly, the wifi signal hardly worked with the amount of people staying.
Overall, we loved our stay and we would recommend this cabin! Very clean, lovely views and great communication with the host! Just a couple items that could have made the experience better.

We really enjoyed the space this house had to offer. It’s not that easy to find houses in the mountains that can accommodate so many comfortably. Loved the basement with game room and wrap around porch. None of the bedrooms are adjacent to eachother so plenty of privacy and no shortage of bathrooms. The view from the porch never gets old. Gravel road leading to the house is a bit rough so plan ahead for that and the internet isn’t great but we didn’t miss it.

We stayed as a family wedding. Absolutely loved the cabin. Fit all of us. Was a little further from Asheville than we would have liked with a real mountain road for access but we still enjoyed it greatly. Might think about having later hours on the weekends. 10 pm quiet time was a little rough but understand the neighborhood aspect. Great hosts.

This is an amazing place. It was exactly what our team needed--mountains, spaces to have community, rest, campfires, hot tub. etc. Yet, it's close enough to get to downtown, hikes and other activities around this beautiful area of North Carolina.

Property and cabin are gorgeous but the road leading to the cabin was pretty treacherous for motorcycles. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and relaxing. Constructive criticism would be that appliances probably need to be updated. We had issues with the fireplace, oven and dishwasher not working properly. For the price point for this rental one would expect them to work properly. Enjoyed our stay very much. Julie B on behalf of Greg J

This property is in a beautiful location, a quaint hilly area close to I40. The rooms and bathrooms are large. The play rooms down stairs give hours of enjoyment. We were not missing anything.
