About this house rental
Located on Millionaire’s Row, just 3 blocks from thriving Main Street, the Admiral Fuqua House offers you the opportunity to experience an authentic historic home in "America's Hometown" of Hannibal. This Italianate style mansion built in 1879 is still graced with its original wood mouldings, stone hearths and twisting grand staircase. The home has great spaces for privacy as well as togetherness - the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, friends weekend, family gatherings as well as professional long term stays.
The home is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished - a blend of old world beauty, antiques, fine art and modern conveniences. Upstairs bedrooms (4) are spacious, with period furnishings, new plush mattresses, and comfortable bedding. Its well-stocked 1980s kitchen has everything you need to make and serve wonderful meals, and is located next to a private large backyard.
Relax on the front porch with a view of the Mississippi, walk down to Main Street to browse museums, shops and cafes. You'll pass Mark Twain's boyhood home on the way! Or take a nap in the hammock, play croquet on the lawn, explore the area's natural beauty and many places for outdoor recreation.
Free WIFI. BBQ, cornhole, and croquet on the lawn. Pet Friendly (advance notice required; extra fee applies).

There was plenty of room, a lot of history and unique character. The only reason i didnt give a 5 star rating was a few things i communicated with the owner. She was very nice about it.

Walking distance to downtown Hannibal, historic feel, clean and well stocked; it was everything we were looking for in a weekend trip headquarters. We highly recommend coffee on the front porch with a view of the river and happy hour in the private backyard. Comfy beds and nice bathrooms too! The hosts are awesome. They made everything about our stay super easy. We look forward to staying here again!

This home had plenty of space and a great deal of character and charm. HVAC is old and we stayed during a heat wave so it was blazing hot and took forever to cool down but that’s what happens when you stay in a historic place. Be prepared for that, if you don’t expect modern amenities you will love it. If you expect modern and new this is not the place for you.

This is the property we booked but not the property we actually stayed at. Found out at the very last minute that we were being moved to a different property, close by but with one less bedroom. It worked out ok, but not ideal. Property manager was very nice and responsive.

We really enjoyed staying in an old home. It helped us imagine life like Samuel Clemens would have lived it. We were given a helpful restaurant guide as well.

The house was everything we’d hoped for. Lots of room for our friends group of five. Comfortable beds and sitting areas. Close to downtown shopping. We’ll equipped. Just perfect!

We had a great weekend getaway and this property helped to make it all the more enjoyable. It is gorgeous and so close to downtown. Very clean, beds were comfortable, exactly as described. There was a heatwave and they had already removed the window ac units for the season. I messaged the owner and she had someone bring by fans while we were out sightseeing for the day.

My family love all over Missouri. 4 generations on my dad’s side were able to stay at this property and we had a great time making memories. The older generations loved the antiques of the house, my generation loved the ease of finding everything we needed, and the youngest generation loved the stairs and games.

This was our second stay at the Admiral Fuqua House while attending a local weekend workshop. The house was perfect for our multi-generational family. Well-appointed kitchen allowed us to cook meals "at home" and the dining table had room for our group and more. With plenty of bedrooms, as well as two comfy living rooms, there was always a place to gather and visit together, or rest on your own.
If you need anything during your stay (or if you've foolishly left something behind), the owners are extremely kind and helpful, and very responsive.
With plenty of parking, a short walk to downtown amenities, a lovely view, and plenty of room for the whole family, the Admiral Fuqua House is an excellent family retreat while visiting Hannibal.

Historic home in heart of Hannibal
We enjoyed a long, relaxing weekend at this Victorian home just a short walk from the historic sites of Hannibal. This historic house was well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable. The owners have renovated much of the house and are updated bathrooms. With four large bedrooms, two living rooms, dining room and kitchen, there is plenty of room to relax inside. Plus porches in front and back provide opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. The owners were very responsive to questions and provided many suggestions for activities and places to eat in the area. We had a great time.

Old home on the hill
We had the best time. Walked to town, Rockcliffe mansion, a must see, riverboat, and neighborhood which is full of beautiful old homes.
Very nice accommodation if you are looking to step back in time and relax on the front porch with a coffee or wine. Can see the Mississippi River from porch!

This was our first stay in a historic home. It truly was a treat. We enjoyed trying to figure out what it might have looked like in the past. Although historic, all the modern amenities we could wish for were present. Up to date kitchen & appliances, lovely washer & dryer set, & super fast WiFi. The rooms were spacious and well-lit, with comfortable beds & seating. Our host provided us with an abundance of suggested dining spots and locations of interest around Hannibal. We loved our stay and would definitely return on a future visit to Hannibal.

We found the house to be comfortable for the 4 of us. The kitchen was very nice and easy to work in, as we did not eat out every meal.
Beds were super comfy.

Terrific large historic house that was ideal for our small family gathering. Very clean and well appointed home that offered comfy furniture, large snuggly beds, modern laundry and a kitchen with plenty of room and all the things you need to cook meals at home. Plenty of room for our family of 5 and perfect for guests that can climb stairs. Our youngsters enjoyed all the games in the closet, and the adults enjoyed the space to spread out. If some wanted to stay up later, it didn't disturb those that went to bed early, so the space is really nice. The outdoor area is fun as well, it is nice to have a yard, even in the city area. Excellent walkability to downtown Hannibal, and the Belvedere School for Hands-On Preservation. Neighborhood is safe, quiet, and friendly.
