ABOUT THE HOUSE
This is a truly unique home, with three updated and well-appointed levels!
*Entry*
The small entry foyer is located between the first and second levels. You will find coat hooks, a ski rack and shoe trays here. We ask that you please leave all shoes and boots in the foyer.
*First Level*
The lower level consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom and laundry. The lower front bedroom has twin bunk beds, a toy box and a dresser with a fun mountain theme. This room is mainly intended for children. The top bunk has a weight limit of 200lbs. The closet in this bedroom is being used for housekeeping storage. The lower rear bedroom has a queen sized bed, roku tv, and dresser with a southwest theme. This room has a large walk-in closet. You will find a few extra blankets, humidifier, pack-n-play, vacuum, broom and dust pan, iron and small ironing board here. The newly remodeled bathroom features radiant floor heat, a tub/shower with window and tiled ledge for all of your bath essentials.
*Second Level*
This is the main living area. A wonderful, cozy space with an open concept design. This level contains the living room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast bar with huge windows to take in the expansive mountain views and a door onto the very large deck. The living room features a cheery wood burning fireplace. With stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops, the kitchen is updated, modern and very well stocked. There are pots, pans, baking trays and dishes, and numerous small appliances. The deck is a wonderful extension to the living space with a seating area, table and chairs, and gas grill.
*Third level*
This level is the master suite with a fun boho inspired design- blacks, whites and grays with a splash of yellow. There is a king sized bed, dresser, reading chair, roku tv, and a little office nook with desk and chair. The mountain views from the king sized bed are absolutely incredible! The bathroom is a few steps down from the bedroom and features a large walk-in shower with bench. Like most houses in the Colorado mountains, we do not have air conditioning. The third floor gets warm on sunny summer days. Opening the windows up in the evening will cool the room pretty quickly since night time temperatures are very cool. You may want to close the blinds and drapes at night to maintain the temperature- but maybe not, as the sunrise view is pretty amazing! The lower levels of the house stay fairly cool all day.
Indoor fires in the wood-burning fireplace are permitted November through April. Please use extreme caution as the area is prone to wildfires. There is firewood stacked about the property. One rack of wood near the fireplace is provided complimentary. If you require additional firewood, it is available for purchase at Lowes. Chopping and stacking firewood is hard work! We have enough for winter for ourselves and one rack per guest.
The house offers wifi and three roku TVs. Guest can sign onto their Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and other popular smartTV apps using their accounts. We do not have cable service.
The house is equipped with a ring alarm system, consisting of motion detectors, door and window sensors, smoke and co2 alarm listeners and video doorbell. There is also a security camera on the front exterior of the home and wildlife cameras on the side and rear exterior recording motion, audio and video 24/7 for the protection of our home. If tampered with, guest will be asked to vacate the property without refund of stay.
This is not just a rental property. This is our mountain home. Great care and thought was put into all the little details. We truly hope you enjoy all the special touches and unique charm of our little mountain retreat.
A 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended in the winter. The I70 corridor has traction laws in effect in the winter months.
We have a plow service for the driveway in the winter months. We also have a shoveling service for the deck and front of the house. They may come up to 48 hours after a storm.

We loved this place! Very cozy, had a great feel to it, we had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend in the mountains. The views from the deck and master bedroom made it for me, outstanding!

We booked the property last minute and it was a really nice stay, we came up from Florida for a long weekend. The size was perfect for 3 adults or a small family (although the bunk beds are very small). It was in a great location and had pretty much everything you could ask for, we loved the games and cards. The living room furniture was a little odd, there is a bench that is really just for show... My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because the rules and requests made by the property owner are A LOT. More than I have ever seen with my VRBO experiences. They're beyond detailed and reminded to you at every corner. They email you several times, they text them to remind you and they have the binder and signs all over the home. It made us cautious the entire time and unable to fully relax, thinking is this against the rules, did we turn that switch/light off, did we put that back.... They also request a good amount of clean up before you leave, taking off sheets, linens, etc... Its someones personal home which I understand, but we signed the agreement and understood the terms, it just felt like they shoved it down your throat. Just a forewarning if you book :-)

We enjoyed the house very much. It was very comfortable and clean, with great views. We also enjoyed the provided game boards to play with family during our stay. Would recommend this house to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cardinal! The views were beautiful from the main level as well as the master suite. The master suite was private and spacious, with a very comfortable king bed. The kitchen area was a good size and stocked with everything we needed. Our boys loved having their own bedrooms on the lower level (great decorations and very comfortable beds). The host was very responsive to questions and checking in to see if we needed anything. Would recommend a 4wheel drive vehicle if it is going to snow more than 4-6". We would definitely stay again in the future.

Jill was a wonderful host and the house was very nice and clean and had some great views! Highly recommend if you're going to the area.

The cabin was beautiful and well stocked. Perfectly located between all of the resorts. Lots of hiking trails near by and numerous activities to do.

The property was clean and comfortable. Views were great. We spent every morning on the deck. Also love that the house is surrounded by Aspen trees.

My wife and I found this home to be perfect for our honeymoon and first trip to CO! The location was great and we fell in love with Silverthorne! The house was clean, cozy, well decorated, and well stocked. Jill even sent us a video of a moose walking through the yard in the morning! Dont miss the sunrise through the master bedroom windows. Although there is no AC, keeping the windows open at night was perfect. We were worried about the construction next door but they were quiet the entire week! I highly recommend this house for any mountain getaway.

First off the views are stunning! It was so nice to have those views but then be able to be in town in a matter of a few minutes. All of our group agreed we couldn’t find a single negative thing about this cabin. It is exactly as the listing states if not better. Anything you could possibly need was there plus extras. The owner was super responsive. We saw the neighborhood fox several times and mule deer from the deck. Would not hesitate at all to rebook.

Great views, very quiet neighborhood but still close to town. Many trails within 5-10 minutes drive. The host was very helpful at providing recommendations/suggestions. Overall very happy with the house and host.

Our trip included skiing at Breckenridge, Copper and Keystone. We sought a location that was equal distance to each so that none of the locations would be difficult for travel in the morning. The accommodations are just as described and communication with Jill is wonderful. Short drive to Lowes and Walmart for supplies or food, and places to eat within reason. Would stay again!

My brother, a few friends, and myself stayed here during out snowboarding trip and it was great! The location was perfect for easy access to the 3 different resorts we went to. The home itself was very comfortable and accommodated the 4 of us with ease. And the views were great! Nothing but praise for the home and the host!

What a wonderful place to stay! You cannot go wrong booking this chalet. The views are amazing from this home! The house was very clean and well maintained, and did I mention the view! We were not lacking in any amenity, and everything was there to make our stay easy and cozy. We are a family of four (two teenagers) and it was perfect for us. The boys had their own space to chill in two lower level bedrooms, and parents had the top floor with, again, those amazing views! The kitchen was well-equipped, and the owners were very responsive with any questions. We are so lucky to have people out there, that will share their wonderful properties, so we can enjoy a little piece of Colorado every year. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable stay. Wonderful!

Stayed here as a family of 4 with a 1 year old and 4 year old for a ski vacation. The location of the house was perfect to access all the local mountains within a quick drive. The house itself was great, so cute, and the views were spectacular—we were drawn to the listing because we saw the views, but waking up watching the sun rise over Keystone every morning was incredible!! Jill was amazing, very accommodating and responsive to our requests. The house is appointed with everything you need when traveling with a 1 year old, which was a big plus for us. We loved our stay and would stay again!!

My friends and I all celebrated a milestone birthday here recently and Jill made this stay extra special! The view was incredible, the house felt like a home and not a rental, and Jill was a pleasure to communicate with. We were there 3 nights and each day/evening, we got to see a family of foxes and a large buck. We had to remind ourselves that we needed to get out and explore a bit because honestly, we really loved just enjoying a coffee or cocktail on the patio so much!! Although one place you don't need to sleep on is Sunshine Cafe. We had a late breakfast there one morning and it was superb!! Don't miss that one! Thank you very much for a memorable trip!

Property was nice and clean. I thought it was a little closer to the lake than it was but the views made it a perfect location. Located perfectly to see many of the surrounding sites and towns. Will make a great spot to stay during ski season as it’s close to all the great spots. Host was very easy to work with and responded to every question within seconds. We’ve found that we are definitely winter mountain people over summer but still had a wonderful time and will definitely return when the snow starts to fly. Thanks for having us!!

We loved the beautifully decorated mountain home. The view from the house was great. It is well stocked, clean and comfortable. We saw a pair of moose very close to the house on our first night in. How exciting! We would definitely stay there again.

Scenic Mountain Retreat
Our family of 5 enjoyed our summer stay in this unique property. The view is unbeatable and the house was super clean and well stocked. We prepared almost every meal in the kitchen with seemingly all new appliances and did not want for anything. There’s a nice grill on the deck we used as well.
While the house is in a neighborhood close to other homes, it feels fairly secluded with all the aspen and evergreen trees around. We saw the red fox, a deer, humming birds, and a bat up close.
The owners are very friendly and responsive.
Great family memories made here.

Great views and location.
Renting from Jill was simple and delivered great value for the cost. The home was precisely described in the listing, VERY clean and the communication from the renter was pro active and immediately responsive. All this message for a very comfortable stay that felt like home away from home. Jill (Renter), was very nice and even had a small stuffed animal out to greet our 9 year old, a nice touch. This home is perfect for a family or small group. We would stay here again as it's only a short ride to Vail and Breckinridge, adjacent to Dillon and Frisco.

The place is fantastic for our needs with all the touches of home that make for a great stay.
Really can't ask for much more in a VRBO vacation home. It is very clean, has the perferct amount of beds/bedrooms for our family of five and is located in a great part of Silverthorne. Everything is well laid out and all the amenities you need are provided. The view is great. Oh and the shower in the master bath is devine! Be aware of the strict limit on # of people of 6. There is no flexibility for that even with visitors over for dinner.

Snowy Spring Break
I don't ordinarily leave reviews, but everything about this place was perfect. Location, amenities, value, I mean everything! Plus an owner ready and eager to answer all your questions and make your stay truly first class. I can't recommend this place enough.

Amazing Ski Getaway
The host was very responsive before arrival and answered all questions we had. This property is very clean and is a superb choice for skiing. We spent 5 days at Keystone and it was very nice to come home to a modern, clean and comfortable home. Only a hot tub on the deck overlooking the views would make this house any better ;-) It is really fantastic.

Home Away from Home
We were very pleased with the property and our stay.
The house is very up to date, the kitchen is well supplied with new appliances and everything you need to cook. I found the crock pot to be handy, get home from skiing and the house smells great.
Linens were comfy and the view delightful.
We had a technical issue of our own and Jill took the time to help us out, more than necessary.
The snow people kept everything shoveled and plowed.
We felt confident that Jill would be available to help us with our stay.
You’ll do fine to relax here.
Thank you,
Deirdre and Bob

Great vacation home!
Jill was a pleasure to deal with and very responsive. Cabin is in a very convenient location. The views were beyond AMAZING! Squeaky clean. Stocked with essentials. We got to see the fox mentioned on description and footprints for other animals in the mornings!
Perfect home for a relaxing vacation stay!

Loved Home within Mountain Side Community
This home was perfect for our family of four. It was clean, modern, full of comfort, and the owner was extremely responsive and caring. Getting to the house requires a climb up the side of the mountain so make sure your car can drive in the snow. We saw several cars stuck on the road to the house in a snow storm. Loved the location as we could pick and choose which ski resorts to visit which were mostly equidistance away, eat at one of many different restaurants, and enjoy spectacular views particularly sunrises in the morning with this location. Job well done by the owner.

Hallmark Christmas!
Absolutely perfect. The home is beautiful and the views are AMAZING. It has everything!
It's less than a 5 minute drive from food, shopping, and entertainment, but it has a secluded feel. The master bedroom has a gorgeous view of the lake, made more beautiful by the fresh snow. On a couple of occasions, we even saw the resident red fox taking a short-cut through the yard on his way home.
The home is full of thoughtful touches, such as cozy blankets, a chest full of toys for the kids, and full-size shower soaps and lotions. The house was even decorated for Christmas - it felt like walking into a Hallmark Christmas movie!

Comfy Chalet with Breathtaking Views
The Cozy Cardinal Chalet is perfectly located in the cute town of Silverthorne. The drive into the home quickly draws you into the breathtaking Mountain and Lake View’s. The home is beautifully furnished and all of the lovely details inside the home was appreciated. The property provides just enough space for young children to explore (with supervision). The bedrooms were all cozy with several warm blankets and nice decor. I loved seeing the images of the property printed and framed around the home. My daughters loved the bunk beds and the toys (especially the plush animals and tree). The Master bedroom and bathroom are like a beautiful mini spa. The home is perfectly located on a hill that provides beautiful sunrise views from the deck and Master bedroom without any obstruction from other homes or jtrees. Personally I think it’s one of the best spots for a home in town!

Excellent location, with great lake & mountain views.
This house had everything you could want from a rental. Location was great in that it was very close to restaurants and stores, while still feeling secluded. It was a short drive and in the middle all of the big resorts like Breckenridge & Vail. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed. The owner went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. House was very clean with a huge master bedroom!
