Overall experience ok. Some TLC to the place could be done.
Rotten flowerpots. Main bedroom bathroom has some damage from previous guests. Upgrades to frying pans that have seen better days. Parking isn’t great with 8 cars parked at home next door coming and going. Elderly parents in bed early and tenant downstairs slamming a slider door multiple times from 1am on. Happy to celebrate my mom’s birthday but wouldn’t pay to stay at this location again. Overpriced and needs some love. James

The perfect Tofino stay for a group. A tree house vibe but really close to Cox bay, also, so central! Great communication and cleanliness. The house doesn’t have much soundproofing so we could hear others in their room. Otherwise a perfect vacay.

Very nice house with great amenities. Short walk across the road to Pacific Sands and easy access to beach, and Surfside Grill which has great beachie food in relaxed setting. Nice central location for beach adventures and trips to town.

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay. We loved walking the pups on the beach and riding our bikes to the brewery! We enjoyed a seafood feast. Stunningly beautiful everywhere. We had a 10 month old with us and the space worked pretty well. Two suggestions came up: blinds would be great on the window in the loft and more comfortable seating would be great.

Got married 10 years a go at Pacific Sands, so it was nice to stay across the street in a place that could accommodate our now large family and dog. Has everything you need for Tofino: location, hot tub, fire pit, outdoor shower. Barely went inside because of good weather but would be good in the winter too.

What a fantastic weekend at Cedar Sands! The place is so open and spacious, but because of all the wood, it feels cozy. Each of the three bedrooms have lots of room and the beds are very comfortable. The location is great since it is a short walk to the public access for Cox Bay (just past the visitors centre - take the Long Beach Lodge Resort driveway, then head towards the Cox Bay Beach Resort. Public parking and the path to the beach are on the left). After a day of surfing the hot-tub was perfect and relaxing in the beautiful woodland setting. Listening to the fireplace crackle in the great-room or sitting around the open fire pit outside in the evening, added to the perfect weekend get-away. The management company, Tofino Vacation Rentals, was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely be back!

Our family came here to celebrate Easter in Tofino. Loved the convenience of walking to Cox bay. The home was very tidy and plenty of room to have our family dinner. The hot tub was a nice luxury too!

Great location, size, and amenities. Had the most spectacular weather for the end of March - perfect to show off to my MB mother-in-law! Only thing missing at the house was a pizza cutter. We 'suffered' through with one of the many knives. Thanks for the fantastic stay!

The property was beautiful and in a terrific location. Speaking to the property manager was easy and they responded very timely with any questions we had. Definitely recommend staying here and can’t wait to be back!

This property could use some updating. Bathrooms are not adequate for 6 adults - one pedestal sink, one counter sink - no counter space for anything , and only one stand up shower. The hot tub was fantastic. Kitchen and appliances were terrific. Next Reno I suggest vinyl plank flooring. It won’t scratch or wear out. We did have a fantastic time and would return.

Great property and wonderful area of Vancouver Island in which to stay and visit. Tofino Vacation hosts very helpful from booking through entire stay. Tofino/Ucluelet and the area between them is one of the most beautiful regions on earth to visit, and the stay of our group was much enhanced by the location and features of this property!

Beautiful West Coast house in the Tofino forrest but not totally private
This is a beautiful West Coast cedar house with some Japanese influence. My family and I felt thrilled to be there right from setting foot in the house and there are many terrific details such as the fireweed growing in front of the fence or the well designed fire pit. Each of my two teenagers had enough space inside and so did my wife and I. The house is well furnished and we were able to cook and had no problems.
There are two points I would mention in case they matter to you. First is that there is no AC and because of the mass of the wood, the adjustable fans the host was kind enough to leave didn’t have any rapid effect. With a day in the high 20’s we could not get the temperature on the main floor down below 26 by morning. Sleeping in the loft on a hot day is a little tough, but that still probably leaves 330+ days a year when this would be very comfortable.
The other point to mention is that, while it feels secluded, it doesn’t feel very private. There is someone living in an apartment below the rental, someone living in a guest house across the driveway and, when we were there, someone living in a camper. I don’t think the house was designed for the proximity of all these people as there are no blinds on the front, providing some limited sight lines directly into the loft, and the blinds in the master bath don’t reach all the way to the sill, so that I made eye contact with some on their deck below the master bath while I was in the bathroom.
Overall, we really liked the house, but had a less than amazing experience due to the heat and proximity to various other parties on the property.

Perfect treehouse near the beach
The Cedar Sands house was an amazing place to stay in Tofino. We especially loved cooking and eating in the big open floorplan, hanging on the deck and huge hot tub, and the short walk to Cox Bay. We’d love to come back!

Cox Bay in December
We had a great stay. The house is lovely. The fireplace was great - the chimney draws like crazy - super easy to get it going and it heats the place up quickly. 10 minute walk to Cox Bay. All fabulous!
