About this cabin rental
Relax and unplug from the world in your own private rustic cabin, on the rocks above Lake Flower in Saranac Lake. Wake every morning with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains in the distance. Kayak into town, catch fish off the dock, or relax on the deck after hiking the Saranac 6ers. This property provides the quintessential Adirondack Experience.
Kayaks and stand up paddleboards are available for your use. Lifejackets in a variety of sizes are located on the property. Fishing poles and tackle box are available and there are plenty of fish right off the dock. Several Board games, books, dvds and puzzles are available for those rainy days! There is a grill and a fire pit for smores!
This property has a loft with a queen bed and two twin beds in a separate room. Kitchen includes a microwave, refrigerator and stove. The small bathroom has a shower, toilet and small sink. We pump water from the lake which is fine for bathing and washing dishes. Four gallons of water for drinking are provided for your stay. Additional water will need to be brought in.
There is a separate cottage on the property approximately a one minute walk from the cabin that has a queen bed. The tv can only play dvd's. There is NO WIFI on the property, to allow you to truly unwind from your daily life.
Our cabin is located on the rocks above the lake. There are approximately 50 stairs to get from the cabin to the dock. Due to this large number of stairs, we do not allow children under the age of 3 to stay at this property.
The cabin is located about 3 miles from Main Street in Saranac Lake, a quaint little town with several restaurants, a grocery store, a book store and toy store. You can even kayak the mile into town, or to the Saranac Chain of Lakes. Lake Placid is a 15 minute drive away.
This property is located down a private, windy gravel drive. This is a very QUIET, private area and we ask our renters to have the utmost respect for our neighbors. There are two parking spaces available on the property.
Just before your stay you will be given a code for a lockbox that contains a key for entry to the cabin.

A beautiful spot for enjoying the Adirondacks! Loved the small, cozy, comfortable cabin. Loved using the kayaks to paddle with the loons at sunset. Just a heads up - there are a lot of stairs down to lake edge and steep ladder up to sleeping loft. Both fine for us, but something others may need to consider. It's a peaceful spot, but be aware that there is a lot of boat traffic back and forth in front of the cabin -- it's a through-way between bigger lakes. That was the only downside for us. Early morning and late evening were quiet. Great location!

The cabin was clean and well equipped. The host was responsive and friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice, quiet cabin with lovely view of the lake and mountains. The cabin has everything you need for a couple or small family. No potable water but plenty of bottled water for drinking and cooking. The shower was small (we are both tall) but we knew that going in. Lots of boat traffic on the lake but we enjoyed kayaking and spotted an eagle not far from the cabin.

Karolyn was fantastic and helped us get settled . Her place is just wonderful, it’s so peaceful and a truly special place.

Adorable A-frame in rustic setting. Beautiful view of lake and mountains from house and porch. Access to lake with Kayaks, paddleboards and canoe available for use. I spent a whole day exploring the lake in one of the kayaks. Saw loons on the lake and paddled into a sea of lilly pads. It was so beautiful. We also got to see the blue supermoon. The light from the moon reflected on the water. My daughter and her friend went and layed down on the dock just looking up at the moon and stars for hours. Saranac has restaurants and shops but you are also very close to Lake Placid which has lot of cute shops and restaurants as well as the Olympic center and thrilling activies like the mountain coaster or bobsleds.
Perfect location for swimming, boating, hiking and relaxing surrounded by the beauty of nature.

This was a great location for our girl’s trip!
Amazing location with beautiful views and very peaceful and quiet. Enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning while listening to Loons, and kayaking everyday watching the Bald Eagles and taking in the view of the high peaks. It is a very short drive into Saranac and Lake Placid for dining or shopping even though the location feels remote. We had a very relaxing week and enjoyed everything about our stay and hope to return next summer

This was the perfect place for our family to relax, play games, and paddle on the lake. A peaceful and serene spot that is conveniently located to nearby hiking, waterfalls and the cute towns of Lake Saranac and Lake Placid.

This is a wonderful spot with breathtaking mountain vistas, quietude and solitude. Perfect for an unplugged get-away and refresh.

Although we ran into bad weather during our September stay, we enjoyed all the amenities - hiking, kayaking, viewing the beautiful scenery from the deck, and sitting at the fire pit where we saw a grey fox.

I stayed with some old high school friends, and we had a great time. The view is spectacular, the fishing is good, and the setting is peaceful. You can catch fish from the dock. The water is beautiful. There are many coves and islands to explore with the kayaks. Lake traffic might be busy one day, but other days you'll feel like the lake is all yours.
There's no wifi, but cell phone service is functional. There is good hiking within a short drive or even within the neighborhood. The kitchen is functional. There is a gravel road in, but you can reach the house with 2-wheel drive. Go here for seclusion and a beautiful setting at a reasonable price.

Cabin was on a beautiful rocky piece of land with a short walk down to the lake. We spend a lot of time on the dock fishing and enjoying the sound of the loon and passerbys.

The rental of this property was smooth as opposed to another site I tried to use. The manager had the property cleaned and ready. I appreciated all the communication and how informative and detailed her emails were. Wonderful lake with loons, a delightful eagle and a sky filled with stars.

This cabin was just what we were looking for. Quiet and private but close enough to shops and restaurants. Easy access to lots of hikes and having the kayaks there at the cabin for our use was so convenient. Yes, the bathroom was small, but we knew that going into it and it really wasn’t an issue, though I could see it being a challenge if you are very tall. You can’t use the tap water for drinking or cooking but Karolyn provided plenty of bottled water and a water cooler with both hot and cold water, so that wasn’t a problem either. Karolyn was great about communication and check in and check out were very simple. We had a great stay and would definitely return if we have the opportunity.

The cabin was perfectly located above Flower Lake. We loved the view.
It was pretty high up, 50 steps to the water. Easy drive to town, wonderful kayaking, and lots of hiking nearby.
Carolyn was very responsine as a host.

Great getaway
Karolyn's place is a classic A-frame Adirondack cabin with a beautiful view and and it was the perfect spot to relax with our family for a few days after our camping trip and before heading back to the real world. It's not luxurious or fancy, but it had everything we needed and something fun for everyone -- fishing poles (my son even caught a bass for dinner!), paddleboards and kayaks, nearby walking trails, and comfortable places to read and play games. The spacious deck and gas grill are great, the kitchen is well equipped, and the bathroom is small but perfectly functional. Cell reception is minimal, but that is not a downside in my view.

As advertised, great location and views. Will stay again if we make it back up to the Adirondacks.

Wow!! What an amazing view! This house is privately tucked away and so peaceful and quiet (but just a short drive to town). Karolyn equipped the house with many entertaining activities. My family particularly enjoyed using the kayaks and lying on the hammock. There is some awkwardness with the height of the showerhead (if you are taller than 5'5, you will have to bend to your knees to get under the water). The last part of the directions to the house were a little bit confusing. Nonetheless, Karolyn was a great and responsive host, and she answered my call right away. Definitely would recommend to anyone and will come back :)
