Great Getaway
Has everything you need for a terrific getaway. A beautiful and comfortable cabin, great location and a beautiful view of the lake. Also, great place to get snowed-in; across the road from a fine restaurant and a market literally stocked with everything you may need. Will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay at this rental. It is perfect for a big family sleeping 6 or 7, if you use the couch (which we did)
It was kind of odd the “master” had bunk beds in the same room while the guest room which my husband and I used since all the kids were in the room with the most beds were stuck with a tiny shower and smaller bed. The size of the room being the issue but still kinda crazy.
We did have a couple questions and needed help with a few things and the property manager was amazing and very helpful and expedient in his actions.

What’s a great place to visit during the off season. The bar across the street did play music a bit loud for what seemed to be just the restaurant employees.

The cabin has a great location with a convenience mart, restaurant, and gift shop within easy walking distance. Amenities were good. Wish the listing had a wide angle shot to show the size of the cabin. All 6 of us thought it was going to be bigger so the pictures should include a picture from the living room showing the entrances to the two rooms for size reference. Had a broken light bulb and Clint came to fix it so that was nice and he kept the line of communication open. Overall had a good stay at this cozy cabin.

They have tile steps coming out of the bathroom without any notice, and no rug to step on. I slipped and fell and hurt myself badly. It ruined the trip. I will NEVER return to this property. I will tell others to avoid it. And I will be sending my hospital bills to the owner.

Surprise arrival- owner was there! Sounds like the VRBO interface may not notify properly or something, since it’s happened before per reviews. But very nice guy, very easy to sort out. Place is very close to a restaurant and store, plus a nice ‘collectibles’ and Knick knack store. Live music at the restaurant Friday night! Done by 10 tho. Couldn’t ask for closer lake access, tho this particular unit is not at all waterfront so check which one you reserve if that’s your preference. We just grabbed the only one available sort of late notice, and we were still very happy with proximity to lake.

We loved the deck facing the lake. Having a boat launch and boat slip was priceless!!! Such a very short walk to our boat. Enjoyed the cute cabin it felt very homey we were there for 8 days and we’re not ready for it to end.

Nice Cabin, worked perfect for what we needed. Parking was a little difficult and not clear, check in was confusing-hard to find in the dark, TV's were all unplugged- took a bit to figure that out, floors were dirty (black feet all weekend), towels/chairs for the beach would be a nice addition but we brought our own luckily. All in all, would stay here again. Great location, close to restaurants, coffee shop and store. Thanks!

This cabin was the perfect place for our family. The kids loved their room with bunk beds and their own bathroom. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The deck overlooked the lake. We loved that the dock was so close and easy for us to park the boat and do some evening swimming. This cabin is right across the street from the market/coffee/ice cream shop which was very convenient. Would definitely stay again.

Very relaxing
The cabin is in a beautiful setting in the trees right next to the lake. This is the first time we have traveled with our dog and it worked out great. The property owner was very helpful and everyone staying there was considerate and quiet.

Awesome lake house!
This Almanor Lake House is perfect for a family. Two bedrooms, one has a queen and the other has a queen and bunk beds. The property has all the appliances you will need. The deck is very nice and has beautiful lake views. Check in process was smooth and the hosts are great! Will definitely return next summer!

Internet lackings
Our big challenge was the internet. It exists but the bandwidth is such that you can't use it to watch Neflix or anything beyond email. We were trying to zoom for work and school and it was problematic. We ended up cutting our trip short by a day.

Great Glamping Getaway

Fairly good location but . . .
We did have an issue at check in, the cabin hadn’t been cleaned for us. The owners did let us stay in another of their rentals for that night but it was a pain moving our stuff back and forth. When we were able to move back, the unit was nice and clean.
One thing that I did not know is that this unit is right on the road and we had to park our car on the side of the road. The bedrooms also face the road so you do get road noise in the morning starting around 6 am.
The location is good, across from a restaurant and grocery store and the rest of the property is nice. There is waterfront area, dock, and grassy space.
The beds were comfortable but the bottom sheet on one bed was so tight that it ripped. The deck is well equipped and has a pretty view.
I would stay on the property again, not just in that unit because of the location next to the road.

Five star stay with one easily fixable problem...
This cabin was the perfect fit for a week at Lake Almanor with our family and friends. Having a launch, slip, and trailer parking for boating was a major draw and this property delivered. I was hesitant about renting a cabin without a dining room or inside table but for summer renters this is not a problem. The deck has seating, shade, and a beautiful view of the lake. Proximity to a general store, restaurant, and coffee shop right out the front door is yet another bonus. Property owners provided multiple ways to communicate so they were easy to reach with questions. Only hiccup of the week was the boat slip was not clearly marked. There is no logical numbered order of the slips and we narrowed it down to three possible slips that could belong to cabin 7. Another boat pulled up and stated we were in the wrong spot and their spot was number 11 which is clearly marked and was the slip next to ours in a shared space. This was a larger boat that would need two of these spaces to park. They then parked in another spot (we had already tied up and they stated they were fine with us not moving at that time) that would be large enough for their boat and no further guidance was provided from this individual about the actual slip for cabin 7 leading us to believe they are another renter without knowledge of the flow for this dock. Shortly after this, the property owners text me saying that was their son and we needed to move our boat to slip 7. I explained the situation about the slip not being marked and after multiple text messages and physically going to look at the dock, determined we were in the correct spot as described in texts from the owners. This was frustrating that the owners son could be of no assistance even though he was staying at one of their three properties and turfed his problem of not having full use of both slips to his mom. I understand that he is also enjoying some time at the lake and does not want to deal with property management issues but I feel he should be a better ambassador to his parent's business.

Great spot on peninsula!
The cabin was well stocked and clean. Kitchen has everything you need. Beds are super comfortable. Used the boat slip and private launch included. Roasted marshmallows at the fire pit. It was such a plus for us to bring our two dogs. For the owners to allow that is awesome! Thanks for a great stay at Almanor

nice location, but not very impressed fisherman beware
Prior to our stay I attempted numerous times to contact the owners. Initially they returned my email questions. I called and left messages on their phones and did not receive a return call. The owners are not very flexible with working with fishermen who wanted to do an early check in. If this was peak season I could understand but we were the only ones staying in cabins in the area and we were the only ones on the lake with a boat. Lets start with the boat slip, could not use the boat slip since the dock was not accessible from shore. The first part of the dock was under approximately 1 1/2 to 2 feet of water, which is not good in 30 degree weather. The boat ramp access had a cable and padlock securing the ramp area. The key inside the cabin for the lock did not unlock the padlock. The cabin is small but nice. Has a great deck with a view of the lake. Upon entering the cabin there was no garbage bag in the garbage can. We could not find a garbage bag any where. During this time of year there are a lot of pine needles falling, which we tracked into the cabin. Trying to keep the cabin clean I swept up the debris and could not find a dust pan anywhere in the cabin. The cabin has two bedrooms with one bath tub shower. The other shower is tiny!!! Great for kids but not very comfortable for an adult who is 5-10 and 200 lbs. Went to use the barbque and found it filthy dirty, in fact when I started the barbque the grease from previous renters caught fire. The cleaning brush was filthy and packed with old grease. WIFI worked as it should. Cable tv was so so. If you could use the boat ramp and dock it has a nice fish cleaning station near the ramp. Overall as a fisherman I will not rent from these owners again. For the price you would expect a clean barbque, garbage bags, dust pan and other basic essentials. Not being able to access the boat ramp and not being able to use the dock was very disappointing which is the main reason for the 2 star rating.

Perfect! Exactly as described.
Our first trip to Lake Almanor. The property was easy to find and matched our expectations. Beautiful view from the deck. We barbequed every night and enjoyed the outdoor patio. This property worked great - we took out boat and could launch and dock it at the property. We had a question and the owner's responded quickly and were very helpful. We would definitely recommend staying at this lakeside cabin.

Excellent - clean and updated
This is a gem - boat dock and slip at convenient access - one of the best features. This unit upstairs is roomy, clean and modern updated in "cabin decor" including big screen TV's. The whole property is easy access / walking distance to the upscale market and restaurants. Love the deck too as you can see your boat and the lake. Property managers were super nice too. Can't wait to return!

Exactly what we wanted!
The remodeled cabin was nice inside with a view to the lake. It was great having a protected slip for our boat. The kids used the fire pit by the water for making smores, while the adults enjoyed relaxing on the deck. The owners were easy to work with. Having the market, coffee house and restaurant across the street was very convenient. We will go back!
