My family and I stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday. We chose this home for its accommodations, cozy ambience, and proximity to a relative’s home in Waynesville. The check in process was straightforward and the host was great to communicate all details a few days in advance. Before I get into positives, a few downsides of the property. One is the proximity to the busy highway. It’s loud when outside both day and night and could be dangerous if you have younger children as a lot of drivers speed up the road from the highway. This was something we understood prior to booking and had no issue with noise when inside the home. Another slight downside is the stairs to get into the home. Thankfully the host keeps the outside well lit, but if you are older or have issues with stairs, this would be a concern with how steep the climb is. Now moving into positives: the proximity to the Lake is wonderful. The house, especially the kitchen, is very well stocked with various kitchen supplies. Plenty of towels and linens. Even though our Thanksgiving dinner was held at our relatives house in town, I could imagine us cooking a full Thanksgiving meal in this home. There is ample room for a large family’s stay, with space to entertain indoors and out. The bathrooms and rooms were clean. The mattresses were a bit harder, but still was a comfortable sleep. Foosball table and piano downstairs. Overall, we loved the place and recommend you book your stay today!

We encountered AC problems but the property manager was quick to respond. House is very clean and exactly as advertised. Lake Junaluska area is wonderful. Road noise at this house in 2 of the bedrooms (front yard) is loud but that doesn’t bother us. Bring a small fan and that’ll help.

We enjoyed the home and the area. One thing, switches for the outside lights should be either noted in the paperwork or on the switches themselves. We saw plenty of fixtures on the outside but could not find most of the switches. Everyone sent what I took as pleasant texts and got back to us in a timely manner.

The Hickory Hill House is a lovely home - beautifully decorated and well appointed. There are plenty of sitting areas and every room is open and spacious. There is plenty of space for parking as well. The large sunroom on the back of the home was our favorite place to gather after a long day of meetings. We could relax and enjoy conversation together. Your team was the best! Rick Border worked with me when my original rental was no longer available and then the rental property team was very responsive to my questions before we arrived.

This home was simply charming. My family and I stayed for the Christmas holiday. The home was beautifully decorated - Christmas tree and all! We really appreciated the holiday touches - as did my 3 children which made the holiday even more magical. The home is well equipped with everything you should need for a comfortable stay - the beds are extra comfortable, too. Would absolutely stay again. Paula and her staff were excellent, very communicative.
