Exceptional building.
Warm welcome.
Delightful village.
No complaints!

It was a historic and nice hotel with a nice owner that was very helpful - no matter questions. The location is central in this small village with only five minutes walk to a great restaurant on the river.
Even though the breakfast was good, it didn't include any salty alternatives - only sweet. I would have appreciated more cheese, ham or sausage.

This is a historical house with tons of interesting artefacts that one is also free to use: play chess in the library, billiard etc.

Fantastic historic building sympathetically and beautifully restored. A real honour being able to stay overnight and view the beautiful art and collectables. Lovely hosts that were friendly and very helpful.
Love the place!

Wonderful four night stay in an historic 15th century chateau in the beautiful village of Pesmes. The owner Philippe and his daughter Isabelle are both very warm and welcoming hosts who go out of their way to ensure that their guests are comfortable. An ideal place from which to explore Burgundy - we look forward to returning!
Nothing.

Beautiful old house with lots of character, lots of interesting interior features, nice room, if a little on the small side, Lovely hard working hosts, very quiet village. Very peaceful. Helpful when needed dinner booking in evening, even though we were quite late.
Would have preferred duvet instead of sheet and blanket. Room a little small. Breakfast could be a little more extensive, eg there were only sweet options.

amazing, historic individual property. Fantastic opportunity to stAy in such a building
the owner was so kind and enthusiastic
the bathroom was sadly in need of updating, the towels were past their best and it would have been lovely to have glasses, tea and coffee making facilities in the room

Pesmes is a very small, quiet, beautiful village and La Maison Royale is a comfortable and curious place to stay.
The building has been renovated into a hotel and lost much of its old charm.

Fabulous building, friendly & welcoming staff
Very basic room: no WiFi, no coffee/tea or cold drinks, 1 plug socket, primitive shower. Served the purpose but not good value for money.

A unique one of a kind hostelry in a museum like atmosphere located in a lovely historical village. The owner and his daughter were very hospitable and helpful. A tasty continental breakfast was included in the price. On site free parking. Comfortable and pleasant room.
Perhaps not the best choice for someone expecting the efficiency of a modern hotel. The rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator. This was not a problem
for us but could be for those with limited mobility. WIFI is spotty. Some of the beds in other rooms are shorter than usual which may be uncomfortable for taller guests.

The property is located in an amazing 1000 year old fort house. There are a lot of common areas for reading, relaxing and eating. The decoration is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and and cozy.
