About this house rental
Casa Saasil is a two level Mediterranean style house with two ensuite bedrooms with king beds upstairs w full ocean views, and a queen size bedroom with an additional full guest bathroom downstairs. A private salt water pool w a shaded pergola is centrally located on the property with much of the original native trees and natural landscaping intact. This was central to the house design. A perfect launching pad for all your adventures with local coffee shops, tacos and beautiful island clifts all within walking distance.

Just like other reviews stated, the pictures don’t do this place justice. It is a very well-maintained private, fenced in property. This was a perfect place for my husband, two teenage boys, and I. The place was clean, and there was plenty of room throughout for the 4 of us. Would recommend!!

We absolutely fell in love with the property! The grounds and style of the home were like nothing we had ever seen. The location was perfect. It was peaceful, and nestled in the most luscious landscape and not a detail was missed when you walk around the grounds. We took so many beautiful pictures in and around the home. We didn’t want to leave and will return again! Amazing property.

our group of 4 had a fun time at Casa Saasil. everything on the island is accessible with a golf cart, the pool and outdoor areas on the property are a big plus, and the hosts are extremely helpful.

This is a great house in a great location, exactly as shown in the listing. All the people involved are extremely nice and very helpful including the owners, and especially the property manager Maria who was very accommodating and was very fast to answer our questions throughout our stay. The handyman, gardener, the host who showed us the property when we arrived, were all very friendly and helpful and did everything they could to ensure we had a fabulous stay in the fabulous property.

We had a fantastic time at Casa Saasil. The pictures and listing had us very excited and it was even better than imagined upon arrival. Our communication with the homeowners and Monica, the property manager, was great and better than any other stay that we have had.
The house and property is so well decorated, the daily conversations with Juan Antonio were great and just everything about this place screams, RELAX. Our kids loved the pool, we loved waking up to views of the ocean, the rooftop views, on and on we could go. I'm not sure how anyone could say anything negative about this place and our experience was off the charts. Thank you again!!!

We found the property to be exactly as advertised; "a tranquil retreat for mind, body, and spirit". But Casa Saasil also vastly exceeded our expectations, with not enough superlatives to adequately describe it. Pictures only hint at the overall beauty we encountered. Immaculate, elegantly simple, architecturally exquisite, gardens replete with flowers and native vegetation. After a day's adventures, all of us welcomed the serenity we felt just passing through the gates when we returned - quite a feat with two active young teenage girls. Monica (our contact person) and Jose (groundskeeper) were so incredibly kind and helpful.
Our stay at Casa Saasil was a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning.

The description and photos of this home are exact, but cannot describe the feel of the home…. Just magically peaceful.
We had a few hiccups and minor inconveniences… but none of it effected our stay, Monica and April were extremely helpful and easily accessible when needed.
The gardens and landscaping are beautiful- we had the pleasure of seeing the gardener several times… such a lovely man.
We did rent a golf cart for the week, and felt it was a must.
We had several flight delays which meant our initial arrangements to arrive at the home were no longer possible. We took a taxi from the ferry (2 taxis) - 300 pesos each.
After a night downtown we took a taxi home- 150 pesos.
The house manager arranged for a taxi to take us back to the ferry - 200 pesos..
a good reminder for us to always ask before getting in!
Our only suggestions would be to have more bath towels available - and possibly towels to take to the beach. As well access to extra bed pillows!
Even with those minor suggestions and our few inconveniences- we will most certainly return!

We had an absolutely amazing time in Isla Mujeres! This was largely due to our incredible home away from home at Casa Saasil. The house was beautifully appointed, well maintained, and so comfortable. The grounds were stunning - from the well-maintained and lush landscaping to the enchanting pool (and daily visits by the resident iguana). The property manager was a delight- super helpful and communicative. We were so fortunate to enjoy this little slice of heaven.

We enjoyed our 10 day stay at the property. We arrived late in the evening and checked ourselves in, which was not a problem, as the communication with Monica made it easy.
The property is located in a quiet area at the south end of the island. Traffic on the road out front becomes close to nil in the late evening. We had no problem catching cabs right out front of the property and no issues with drivers finding Saasil. Everyone we encountered knew the neighboring property, Casa de Jaguar.
The Joint is a short walk down the back lane and had great food, drinks and music. The heated pool was great to hangout in at all times of the day. We could hear the crashing waves of the ocean across the street which was nice.
The groundskeeper was on-site throughout the week keeping the property neat and tidy who we hardly noticed. Cleaners came every 3-4 days to tidy up inside.
The only suggestions we would have to the owners would be to have a broom and dustpan available, a microwave and some chairs on the rooftop so people can sit and enjoy the views.

Casa Saasil is lovely. The layout, design and furnishings are beautiful and of top-notch quality. The beds are comfy. The views are gorgeous. It feels very safe. The gardens and pool are heavenly. Communication with owner and property manager was helpful, prompt and easy.
A few notes to help have your best stay:
1) There are NO toiletries ( not even soap, so bring your own everything for the bath)
2) There is no washer/dryer. They provide a name of a laundry service.
3) As of Oct 2022 the house next door (Casa Musica) is under construction 6 days/week. There is a crew that you can hear working and talking, etc. from 8am to 6pm.
4) To keep the gardens and pool pristine there is a polite and friendly gardener or two there 5 days a week from 8am to noon. They will be around the pool area working at times. They are quiet and respectful but you will not be "alone" on the grounds.
5) There is maid service every 3 days for a couple of hours. They refresh the towels and clean everything.
6) The house on the other side (Casa Jaguar) pool is very close and separated only by a low wall/cabana. There wasn't anyone there the weeks we were there but if there was a big rand/or rowdy group you'd be right there in the party with them. Just be aware. If complete privacy is what you want that may not be achievable.

This serene property was located on the quiet side of the island but an easy golf cart ride anywhere. The AC is cold and the pool is perfect. The rooftop view is out of this world and all of the balconies are so relaxing. We arrived for a girls trip and found ourselves wanting to relax at the house more than expected. The house manager set us up with a golf cart and Chef and answered any questions we had during the stay. We felt very safe and had the best long weekend. I would definitely return!

Beautiful, Peaceful Island Retreat
We booked Casa Saasil because of it's location on Isla Mujeres, wanting to be away from the crowds in Cancun. The description and pictures of the property made it sounds like the perfect place to get away and relax. Honestly, it's even better than you can see in pictures. The house is gorgeous and spacious, with plenty of room to be with others or on your own. The views out the windows and patio doors over the gardens and the ocean are spectacular. We loved viewing the night sky from the rooftop deck as well (a little too hot up there during the day). Another favorite spot was the window seat looking out over the gardens, great place to read. The pool area is enjoyable all day - cooler in the morning, the available shade makes it bearable even during the hot afternoon, and in the evening it is almost like a hot tub after soaking up the heat all day.
Monica, the property manager, was very helpful in arranging transportation from the airport, our golf cart rental, and a chef to come and prepare dinner for us one night. I highly recommend Josephat if he is available to cook, our dinner was fabulous. Monica was always very quick to respond and answer any questions, and April, the owner was also great at communicating and making sure we had what we needed.
One recommendation for a place nearby to swim, since it is too rocky by the house - Garrafon de Castilla is nearby, charges a small entrance fee and you get access to the beach and lounge chair areas. You can rent snorkel gear, and they also have lockers, and food and beverages for additional fees.
We would absolutely return to Casa Saasil again!

Paradise Garden
The property far exceeded our expectations! The landscape is such a unique aspect of the property and is a real treat. The home’s interior is very tastefully decorated and well thought out, providing exactly what we needed to enjoy every part of our stay.
The owners and manager were very responsive when needed. I highly recommend this home and will be revisiting again.

Spectacular property
There are really no words to describe the beauty of Casa Saasil. Every detail was so well thought out to bring the ultimate relaxation experience. Pictures just hint at how great this place is. From booking through the time that we left all communication was excellent. Monica helped us with golf cart rental and round trip transportation from the airport to the house. The Punt Sir area is quiet. Easy to get a walk or run in. Yoga mats available at the house.
The peacock, we only saw one time, was hilarious. The Iguana in the rocks by the pool sunned himself daily. The pool is a pleasant temperature so we were able to enjoy it!
We would love to return and stay at Casa Saasil in the future!

Casa Saasil exceeded our expectations in every way. From check in to check out, everything was a dream. We communicated with Monica, the house manager, in advance and she arranged a golf cart and covid tests for us as well as connected us to a private chef. She made the process so easy for us. The house itself is absolutely breathtaking, it looks like it is out of a magazine. The location is perfect for a more relaxed, serene trip to Isla. We spent most mornings at Punta Sur or on the roof deck watching the sunrise. The owners April and Ray were extremely helpful and we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. We will definitely be back!

Exceptional house. Rooftop sunsets beyond compare. For sure you'll need a golf cart and ask Monica about having a chef (Sofia and her dad) come in for you.

Best Pool on Island (and best house I've rented in 10 years)
This was my 10th stay on the island, and This house has a lot going for it.
The pool:
* The shade provided areas that we could avoid sunburn
* It's on the eastern side (Avoids the mosquitos that we saw with bay/west side)
* Still gets sun in the evening (Doesn't get cold like the cliff side of the east side houses or overly shaded houses).
The interior:
This house doesn't come off as as having cheap amenities or furniture. Mattresses were amazing and frankly better than what I had at home. Couches, outside furniture are all carefully chosen pieces. The owner lives on the island and clearly cares about this property.
The Garden:
Amazingly zen garden. The peacock was fun to feed in the mornings. A lot of careful details.
Boring stuff:
AC worked great (mini-splits in all the rooms, kitchen had a gas stove that was solid, coffee maker worked and coffee provided was solid) While I would call it a dual master, the main one has a private balcony both both have a great shared balconies. This house is very new (so relatively few reviews, which sometimes spooks me but I figured I'd take a risk). There's a 3rd bedroom the owner keeps locked with his own stuff/storage when he's staying here, so that's why this is a unusually spacious property and house with only 2 bedrooms.
There's a great reading nook in the living room by a window with a view of the back yard that one of our guests enjoyed reading a book in.
Water/electricity was great (no weird electrical issues we've seen in other houses on the island, owner clearly paid attention to the construction). water heater worked for showers etc.
Location: You are down by Punta Sur. You will need to rent a golf cart (but you can use a cab to haul your stuff from the Ulta Mar Terminal). You are between Casa de Musica, and The Jaguar house. It's across the street from the ocean front properties, and the nearest beach would be Garafon de Castillo. The Joint isn't far. Limon and and Rosa Sirena are also short drives for a rather nice dinner.
The picnick table out front was some awesome wood/stone combination. This place kinda reminds me of a restoration hardware catalog.

HEAVENLY...
Casa Saail was absolutely fantastic. Could not have imagined a better place to stay.
Everything was exactly as described (except for the color of the water, words just can’t describe the beauty of the ocean down in front of the house). April communicated all details in advance as well as during our stay.
Highly highly recommend staying at Casa Saasil if you are looking for a quiet stay right across from the ocean. Close enough to the town and restaurants, but far enough away to feel like you aren’t right on top of other people. The property is huge with gardens, peacocks and ocean breezes.
The details of the house are perfection and the welcome pastry are delicious.

Absolutely stunning house
I’ve stayed at numerous VRBOs and never felt the need to write a review. Selfishly, I’d prefer not to write this review because I want to keep this house a secret but it was too good of a stay not to and wouldn’t be fair to the owners. Everything from the design of the house, the landscaping, the linens used, the views form the balconies and guest services were top notch. We had a fabulous host, Monica, that was available and helpful at the drop of a dime. Fantastic logistics arranged by host and executed by local Noe who also did a private dinner for us at the house one night. Sophia, also recommend by owners, was another great chef we used. They even had a golf cart rented and waiting for us on property upon arrival….thats service! Staying here rivals some of the best hotels in the world. We can’t wait to go back.
