Good location

We stayed at Econolodge/Econostay in Vernal Utah on January 5, 2024. The room was filthy, smelled like an ashtray. The floor wasn’t vacuumed, there were candy wrappers and Q-tips on the floor. There was no garbage can. The TV didn’t work. There was no chain on the door for security and you could tell someone had tried to kick it in. There was a massive amount of dust on the bathroom vent, the floor wasn’t clean, looked like mouse poop was on it. The tile was loose on the floor by the toilet, felt like it was going to fall through the floor. I called to the front desk for some towels, and air freshener but no one answered. I went down there. The TV also didn’t work. The front desk girl came (again no ID or uniform) and provided 2 towels (there were 3 of us) and a can of Febreze. We told her the TV didn’t work, she said we had the wrong remote. About 45 minutes went by and someone knocked on the door. I opened it and this person was just standing there with a remote in his hand. I had no idea who this person was and he wasn’t talking. If my husband hadn’t been there I probably would have slammed the door in his face. He finally said he was the maintenance man and was eating a banana. Prior to him knocking there had been some commotion outside. He had no clothes or ID to say he was with the motel. At any rate, I didn’t sleep a wink that night. We would have left but there were no other rooms available. I slept on top of the bed in my clothes. After I showered, I went to use the hair dryer and it started sparking and smoking so I just shut it off. I talked to the front desk and they were very surprised that the room was smoked in and the concerns I had, they acted like they hadn’t heard them before. The pictures on your website of their place is deceiving. It may have looked like that once, but not any more. I am requesting a refund. I use booking.com a lot and am questioning the accuracy of the rooms you are advertising.

everything. I’m not typing it all out. disgusting room. the main thing was it reeked of cigarette smoke and the smoke alarm kept going off.

No heat in room. The room was dirty with pet hair all over the room. TV did not work. Told staff working she said she was leaving at 9:30pm and would tell on coming staff. Waited until 11pm, but still no response from staff. Went back to the office, it was locked, and no staff anywhere to be found.

They lock you out of your room when the office closes. Then they charge you $200 on top of the nightly rate. They don't answer their phone at all. They also put me in a room someone else was in when I got there. Also the heater didn't work at all.

We were not provided with bath towels. 2 hand towels only for 3 adults.
