WE LOVED EVERY SINGLE THING about Art Villas!
we stayed in one of the Cocos and we just loved it so much. our best stay in Costa Rica!
Art villas is truly unique, the design of the whole place is one of a kind! simply breathtaking: a little piece of heaven!
The private chef is amazing too, the food was delicious! the staff is so helpful and nice!
We will be back without a doubt
we believe for the price we pay, breakfast could be included.

Great location, remote in the jungle. Amazing staff and excellent breakfast. Pools, water slide, trampoline, great gym, sauna and more.
If you sleep in the pods be aware that there are only bug nets that separate you from the elements and other guests.

Very interesting open space concept enveloped by nature. Comfy beds, great views and very tranquil environment.
The open space concept is confusing at first - unclear if you can help yourself at say the kitchen or if you need to wait for the waiter. At times felt like I was ‘Intruding’ or disturbing the staff by making requests. Not quite an air bnb (help yourself service) nor is it a hotel. Food could be improved (often arrived cold + variety). Also very steep hill to get to the property - to be considered during rainy season if its very muddy. Also if you want to get anywhere else after dark it is tricky. Accommodation is pretty secluded

Its a villa with a private pool that overlooks Bahia Ballena, it has 3 beds and plenty of space for a party of 6.
Has a full equipped kitchen (recommend washing the dishes before using them)
The pool is fine, too cold in the nights but during the day its a nice refresher.
The staff is really nice and helpful, when they want.
The place has really nice views and the architecture is something different to what you see in Costa Rica.
We got a nice tour of the whole place the 2nd day we were there and it looked really run down, the yoga deck was moldy and some pieces of wood where loose in the stairs.
The villa is really run down, you can see chips of the wall that were damaged by previous customers.
The grill, the pans and pots have oxid all over it, we couldnt use the grill even though i washed it like 3 times.
Wifi went out on our first night and the staff in the hotel didnt know how to fix it nor did the minimum effort to try and fix it, and we needed the wifi!.
The price we got included breakfast, but as a surprise, breakfast never included juice, so we had to make our own coffee and drink water, this looks like a shaddy practice to me, they dont send you anything to drink with on breakfast so you end up using the mini bar.
The prices for the minibar where just too high, honestly, it feels like the villa is just an excuse to upcharge you for everything else.
The restaurant was closed on our stay, booking said it was going to be open, but we can imagine the prices on the restaurant are as high as the bottles of wine and minibar in the villa.
If you have light sleep or are paranoid during the nights this wont be a nice place to go, the Villas main door (which seems to be a door that was used as a garage before) doesnt have any type of lock, so you will spend the whole night thinking that someone is right outside your bedroom.
There is a dome camera right at the entrance of the villa, it looked like a 360' dome, all the walls are made of off transparent glass so you couldnt trust that the dome wasnt moving during the day, not even for a swim at the pool.
The checkout is just too early, 10am and they off course, try to upsell you a late checkout, you will get a message 20m before your checkout time and then 5m before someone will be knocking on your door, which is really annoying.
You do need a 4x4 to get there, the road is not really that hard to go through but the rain makes it almost impossible for a 4x2.
About the noise complaints, i do see the reason for them, the "cocos" are right next to the reception/rest/bar and it is noisy.

The property was absolutely beautiful. The gym, pool, and water slide were really nice amenities.
The mosquitoes, no A/C

Wow, such an amazing place with a perfect combination of being secluded in the nature with extravagant stylish luxury. Strong recommendation

This was a really cool and different experience for sleeping accommodations. The staff were excellent and the customer service was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable.
If you don't like sleeping to the sound of bugs, this isn't the place for you. It is in the middle of the forest so it is quite loud

The architecture of the place was absolutely amazing. The view to the jungle was also very impressive. The staff was very helpful and nice.
The cuisine we would expect on higher level on such a place. That is why I put just 9.

It was a gorgeous property in the hills. we loved the glamping experience in the coco pods. the staff (especially Aaron) were so helpful and attentive.
There is a huge hill to get up to the property and it requires a strong 4x4. The food was decent and pricey.

We stayed in Coco Pod #3. I was a little dubious when we were told that was going to be our pod as it is the one closest to the bar/restaurant as I was concerned we would be disturbed by the noise of people chatting and laughing etc., especially later in the evenings or early in the mornings. My worries were over nothing, as you really couldn’t hear anything.
The pods were extremely comfortable. They had everything you could possibly need from a hotel room and the way it is designed it stayed cool the entire time and the linens stayed smelling fresh and clean and dry. There was a fully stocked mini-bar, all the toiletries you could need plus a hair dryer. The bed was super comfortable. I was worried about being hot and bugs coming in but in June (hot season) I slept with the fan off! Plus no bugs at all in the pod. It was lovely and romantic with the mosquito net.
The design of the place is stunning. They have kept it very in keeping with nature. Everything is open and simple and beautiful. You feel that you are truly immersed with nature. I got a massage plus a cranial sacral therapy session and it was on their open yoga platform area with the sounds of the birds and animals. Incredible!
The food is simply to die for. I cannot believe how good the food is. You just don’t want to eat anywhere else.
In the swimming pool you’ve got humming birds flying by close to you and there was even a coati in the tree next to us. Parrots were flying overhead. It was pure paradise.
However what truly gives ArtVillas its soul, are the staff who work there. They are without a doubt the living, breathing heart of what make it such a wonderful place. Every single member of staff was so happy and friendly and kind that you couldn’t help but relax. It didn’t feel contrived. Not one of them asked for a review. They were just all lovely genuine good people.
I would come back here again in a heartbeat. Definitely one of the top places I have ever stayed at in the world.
Honestly, nothing.

first in class experience in Costa Rica - loved it!
closure to nature, friendliness the staff, little details and style of the architecture

Modern Architecture.
Infinity pool in the middle of the jungle.
Delicious food (breakfast, dinner). The included breakfast is a la carte and you can choose between more than 6 meals.
check-in is very late (3pm). please change it to 2pm.
check-out is very early (10am). please change it to 11am.
the current check-in & check-out time is a bit stressful for a stay of 1 night.

The layout of the pods is great, the concept of the hotel is very unusual but works very well. The gym was great, the food, the service- we loved it all.

The location is incredible, every detail is more beautiful and enjoyable in person. The staff goes every extra mile to ensure your experience is perfect, they are kind , caring and take over each request with positivity and care. The art villas offer an unmatchable experience of comfort, luxury and pure relaxation. Food is delicious and you truly feel pampered. The staff was also fantastic with communication via WhatsApp.
a 4x4 is absolutely necessary to get up the drive, but the view from the top is 100% worth it.

definitely the experience, comfy bed, everybody was friendly!
the mosquito net around the bed needs improvement, since it‘s impossible to close it properly. with the fan on all night it was alright (without it it was too humid anyways) but because of the fan you couldn’t fully enjoy the sounds of the jungle which we came for in the first place. furthermore it‘s a place that obviously attracts influencers, which means the sounds of nature were overshadowed by drone sounds.

Unique experience in the heart of the jungle.
Spacious and comfy rooms (Coco pods)
Delicious food and super friendly host and staff.
Common area with the pool.
It was great to be there.

it was very relaxing and in a beautiful setting, the staff was lovely and the food delicious
the price, a bit over priced
6.0
- design
- staff was very nice and friendly
- location is good
- dinner is a bit expensive, but it was actually really tasty
Unfortunately we did not like our stay in the pods.
- I guess renting the vila is a completely different experience, but living in the pods is simply not worth it (definitely not for this price)
- the pod is very small, dark, not that comfortable and there is no privacy
- compared to other similar accomodations in Costa rica this was our least favourite (ironically we were looking forward to this one the most)
- breakfast.. sorry, but for this type of accomodation its a joke. This breakfast was the worst not only in Costa rica, but maybe anywhere we stayed.
- the waterslide is maybe an attractive addition, but the point is that it should not hurt like hell to slide it

Our stay in the Coco pods really exceeded our expectations! It was a stunning place unlike anywhere I have ever stayed! The pods were uniquely furnished and really matched the pictures we saw! We had the pod with the tub and it was a magical experience to look out over the jungle while enjoying a soak. The entire property is beautifully maintained and really feels like a dream! Common areas were extremely special, as well with a great restaurant, pool area, water slide and trampoline.
We loved everything!

Villa is very beautiful, very good location. Very clean. Close to the beach, we love surfing so it was amazing. Stuff are very friendly and helpful. All the meals we had were delicious. It was best stay ever!! Luxury in jungle.
There was nothing negative.... maybe in the rooms should be repelent

The breakfast and dinner were horrible, they rushed us out of the villa ,someone was standing there to make sure we checked out at 10 am and my family didn't appreciate that.
Food and Stagg rushing us out

Art Villas is truly superb and exceeded our expectations - it is beautifully presented and the gardens are some of the best I’ve seen for a hotel (and not gimmicky at all). Breakfast was also amazing - wish we stayed longer as we missed waking up with the jungle !

Nice modern architecture + also landscape architecture. Beautiful place in a jungle with noises of a nature. Great pool area and we really appreciate staff and food!!! “Coco I” was the best! Great view, bathtub and enough space just to relax and watch the landscape, birds or sunset. We can highly recommend this place and would be happy to come again!
Nothing

The location is really unique and the glamping cocos is a fun and novel idea. The staff were absolutely excellent and could not praise them enough for how welcoming and helpful they were.
Ill thought out in many respects. The pods could be better mosquito proofed. Curtains that clip doesn’t really prevent anything from getting in. The trampoline situated in between the pods leaves the whole place to shake if used. It’s just in a really bad place. Loud dance music from the bar is also not the idyllic setting we envisaged. The food is also overpriced and bland.

Food was great, excellent surroundings and facilities. Staff were friendly and attentive. Loved the overall look and vibe of the hotel
As it rained for some of our trip our tent felt quite damp, there is a dehumidifier, however our clothes still wouldn’t dry even if hung up all night. Road up to the hotel can be difficult to navigate, but they do recommend only travelling there in a 4x4

right in the jungle
not enough space to put stuff ex: hanging clothes or towels
