The staff were fantastic, going out of their way to help us out.
The hotel is advertised as a 5 star hotel which is not! At all. It’s a good 4 star hotel but NOT a 5. Several things slightly broken in the room, really tiny window with view to someone’s house.

The property was eclectic - a great location and terrific staff

The hotel was very nice and clean. It had a very romantic and chic vibe. Room was very clean and spacious. Food seemed Mediterranean inspired. Restaurant has amazing food.
Not so much dislike, but it would be nice if they had more breakfast variety.

No recomiendo hospedarse acá.

The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Kind when answering my questions and providing me an idea of what to do in the area.

Hotel was clean and breakfast was conveniently included.
Overall extremely overpriced. We paid triple what we paid for a much nicer hotel in Santa Marta old town. We didn’t see a single other guest at the hotel. The customer service experience was bizarre. We received a not great welcome cocktail. For ages we tried to book a massage via email and received no response. Finally we managed over WhatsApp but weren’t quoted a price - ended up being around 200.000!! Luckily we were able to cancel. We stayed one night and in the evening we asked what time we should leave to catch our bus in the morning. The next morning they told us our cab was here even though we never ordered one. The area around the hotel is not super nice we found. Overall incredibly overpriced and just an overall weird experience. The room was comfortable and clean etc but definitely would not come here again.

The staff
we had a few errors. Firstly the shower shocked us. We had cold water TV went off electric went off and every morning there was building works and to have all that I expected a substantial discount. However, I am grateful for the two glasses of wine we received, but it just wasn’t enough. you could also look at a bit of variety on your breakfast.

It's very well decorated, a lovely restaurant for breakfast, and for the most part, their food is good tasting and creative. The room was clean and had all the standard amenities and a few more. The personnel is great, they are very attentive and treat you really well.
It's an OK hotel, especially because it's hard to find better hotels in the area, but it's incredibly overpriced.
The hotel is far from a 5-star hotel as claimed on the listing; it's a very overpriced property for what you get in terms of comfort. The biggest issue for me was the noise coming from the street: if you read other reviews, people point to that. I ignored it, and that was a big mistake. You can see that the owner always replies by saying that "you need to close the balcony door"; of course, that's what everyone does, but the property doesn't have insulating windows, so a lot of noise comes through. This seriously affected the quality of our sleep which made our holiday significantly less enjoyable.
A few other issues:
- Hot water is shut off at around 5 pm. If I wanted to shower after that, I needed to call the reception every time to get it on again. That's simply unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.
- Wifi was unusable; I had better luck using my mobile phone.
- The toilet has no door nor a way to close it for some privacy.

Location is 2 blocks away from the beach. Staff incredibly friendly
Restaurant price vs average prices around
Room price also a bit high vs average prices in the area

Amazing and super friendly staff! each and everyone was offering his/her services with pleasure and a smile. Helpful in every way. the food in the restaurant was really good and Juan cooked for us really nice delicacies.
The bed was really comfortable and apart from the noises from the street outside and the next room, we had a comfortable sleep.
The standards of a 5 start hotel in my view are way higher in terms of quality of construction and materials. basic things like noise insulation and running hot water are missing. to be more precise, there is an equipment installed at the top of the shower which offers warm water only if the water runs slowly. once you open the tap more, the temperature drops. it works like a mini heater. I leave aside the matter of safety (electric cable inside the shower).
the walls are so thin that you can hear the guests in the next room even when they talk at a very low volume. you literally hear everything.
last but not least, the location is not really good for a walk but it is close to the center and you can go by a taxi.

Restaurant and room
The Shower brings down the entire layout. It’s a pity because from that amazing bathroom you expect a good warm shower, and there was barely water coming out, and cold.

Wow what a beautiful, classy establishment, have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and this is up there with them. The staff are absolutely superb, have a touch of class in every aspect and those little touches make the difference in giving you that perfect stay.
Would like to say thanks to them and recommend this place if you like being spoilt 😉
The fact that I can't live here for a few years.

Had a bargain rate King bed room (we had no window) breakfast included. The pillows were large and fluffy, and the room was a good size for the rate. The hotel is well appointed with art, and dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was just good. My partner used the indoor pool and it was nice. Staff was very nice. It is clean, and a short walk to the beach. It was a good value for the rate.
The bed mattress was hard and the elevator is very small

Can't say enough about the staff. Extremely pleased. Hotels tend to be impersonal, but the level of warmth, the extra mile covered by the staff made our stay a special time. This hotel is very clean and comfortable, small and well designed. It's close to the beach and far away from city noise. Perfect for a romantic stay.
Can't think of anything I didn't like

Breakfast was great!! Delicious, fresh and well served.
Location was really good, easy and nice.
We would have liked a room with a window facing the street, with natural light

nice fit out
Over-priced, road noise, no complimentary water in room, excessive over charge for 2hour checkout extension
6.0 / 10.0
Unique and plush fit out and staff generally very helpful.
A lot of road noise made it difficult to enjoy the room at times, especially in the mornings. At this price point, the rooms need to be appropriately sound proofed. No complimentary water in the room waa disappointing and something I personally find distasteful and annoying in the “hospitality” business.
Either there was no hot water in the bathroom, or I failed to work out how to extract any,
over a 3 night stay. I didn’t complain, as cold showers can be refreshing in this part of the world - but this is unacceptable at this price point.
On my final day, an additional charge of over 100k pesos as a penalty was required to be paid for a 2 hour checkout extension - at a time when the property had a high level of vacancy. Considering the comparatively very high room rates for Rodadero, I found this over the top - and is a sure way to avoid customer retention. I spend ~40% of my year in hotels, and these little “touch-ups” are not the way to build customer loyalty. I visit Rodadero frequently, but sadly couldn’t justify another stay here.

Nothing
Outrageously overpriced 3-star property, which sells itself as a luxury boutique hotel.
The supposedly posh decoration is of very bad taste and looks cheap.
The receptionist and owner are extremely unpleasant and not flexible whatsoever.
The location is below average, not overlooking the sea and with a ridiculously small pool.
The finishings are inacceptable.
There is no hot water in the bedrooms (only a malfunctioning "Colombian shower").
The so-called balcony is a placeholder for the external unit of the air conditioner. It is small and filthy.
Breakfast is minimal.
There isn't even a rooftop terrace.

The hotel staff was the highlight. They were all so kind and helpful. Juan in the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience for dinner and breakfast. The food in the hotel restaurant is phenomenal! The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked really well and the bed was very comfortable.

it needs soundproofing.

I have hardly ever wrote a bad review ever, but being in the hospitality bizz , i'll be honest THe Food was VERY good here, breakfast Superb,
the music throughout the hotel was horrible: pop/house nausea in a country where there is so much good music, they also had endless smoke detectors beeping throughout this small hotel especially in the lobby. I told a few folks there but it didn't seem to matter, The staff is very nice, this a management / owner issue...
Stay well....
