it is a good starting point to explore the region, informal and friendly with a nice restaurant.

The Rjukan hotel has a very good location for visiting the surrounding attractions, quite close to Krossobanen, Vemork museum and Hardangervidda. Nice, big rooms, good bed/mattress. Slightly old-school bathroom, but still clean and ok. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

OK but hotel needs further investment/upgrading.

Centre of town location.

Breakfasts were a little disappointing compared to others in Norway. Bathrooms need renovation as kit looks tired. Dinner options limited and not to same level as elsewhere in Norway. Visit coincided with lots of noisy youngsters congregating outside for some time.

Good hotel, curious when renovation of the bath rooms is completed

The dinner served at the restaurant Friendly personnell Normal beds were good

The sofa bed was not comfortable Showering in a bath instead of regular shower No back entrance of the hotel in relation to the parking At breakfast lack of things for people with an allergy/intollerance (Lactose)

Convenient hotel with dated facilities

Great location on the main street of the village, right next to a supermarket. Great for stopping overnight during our road trip.

Old hotel that seems to be in the process of renovation at the moment. Comfortable rooms with an older feel and a very small bathroom. Dinner at the hotel is quite expensive, even for Norwegian standards.

Small hotel with spartan rooms but nice staff and good breakfast.

Location was ideal for visiting town. Comfortable small hotel with nice staff and good restaurant. Informative historic photos throughout. Comfortable beds.

Room was small with a tiny bathroom.

Very good bed in a large clean room The lady who swerved us dinner also checked out the next morning and was very friendly and helpful

Location

Very soft mattresses, a narrow bed and there was nothing in the room except one armchair and a bed. No kettle, coffee maker. simply nothing.

Good place for a stop over

Central location with free parking, one or rather the only restaurant open during winter and very friendly that were always available to assist in every possible way

The rooms are still not fully refurbished, the bathrooms are yet to be upgraded, and the lighting in the room could be improved. However, given the fact the new owners are doing what they can to refurbish the place, it is only a matter of time before the outstanding works are completed
