Nous recommandons fortement

L’accueil de Malik, simple et authentique ! Notre chalet (celui en photo de page) La cuisine collective, même si nous mettions les pieds sous la table 😂 La présence des animaux attendus et inattendus !! C’était comme être en famille. Nous saluons Malik pour son énergie à nous faire plaisir 🥰 L’isolement, le calme, la rivière, la cascade, les parties de dominos…

La piste 😹 Oui il faut un vrai 4x4! Le petit Rav 4 qu’on trouve à louer partout est parfait ! Mais il coûte plus cher que dormir à Jungle Roots!! Bref, le paradis ça se mérite !!!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en pleine jungle et sur le territoire des Kalinagos. Nous revenons en Guadeloupe ave

Le cadre était magnifique. Un dépaysement total permettant un vrai retour au source. Malick est un très bon hôte, serviable, disponible, discret et de bons conseils sur les lieux à visiter. Les petits déjeuners de Jenny sont très bons.

L’accès est chaotique donc vraiment prévoir un 4x4 pour monter au Roots

Gewelid, oase van rust en natuur

Het was een geweldige locatie. Ver weg van alles, echt in de natuur. Er is weinig luxe en beperkte wifi en op bepaalde uren maar stroom. Je hebt geen airco of andere luxe. Dit maakt het juist echt heel mooi en speciaal. Je zit in een groene oase zonder afleiding van buitenaf. Ik ben zelden zo goed tot rust gekomen tijden een verblijf in een hotel. S ‘avonds komt de natuur op je af en geniet je van ieder geluidje. Overdag heerlijke wandelroutes vanaf het resortje. Het personeel is echt vriendelijk en zij zijn er echt voor jou. Ze vertellen jou graag over de natuur en hun cultuur. Als je echt tot rust wilt komen en midden in de natuur wilt zitten zonder enige afleiding van de moderne wereld, dan zit je hier goed. De bedden waren op zich goed en de badkamer voldoet aan alle eisen dus je zit niet op een of ander eco toiletje. Het is gewoon goed. Drinken kan je pakken uit de koelkast. Als je alcohol drinkt dan schrijf je dat op in ' the book of trust' en dat reken je aan het einde van je verblijf af. Tegen hele nette prijzen overigens. Wel handig om even wat eten mee te nemen, vooral als je reist vanaf Rousseau want er is geen supermarkt in de buurt. 's Avonds wordt er op verzoek voor je gekookt maar je mag ook zelf koken in het keukentje.

Dépaysant, très nature et beau

J’ai apprécié l’emplacement et la nature ainsi que l’auto suffisance du logement Malek était très sympa

J’ai moins apprécié le petit déjeuner (4 bouts de pain et une omelette), de plus ce n’est pas la faute du propriétaire mais en se promenant plus haut nous avons aperçu plusieurs chiens attachés complètement maigre et entrain de mourir ce qui nous a fendu le cœur. De plus attention à la route un 4x4 avec 4 roues motrices est obligatoire car le chemin est très escarpé et technique et difficile d’accès, heureusement nous avions un pilote !

Superb

If you're looking to disconnect from the busy life, noise or concrete buildings or you just want to be at peace and embrace the beauty of nature, Roots Jungle retreat is the prefect place. I enjoyed every minute I was there the tranquility, yet the musical vibes of the bird and other animals. Guadeloupe and Martin the hosts are very friendly and helpful not forgetting their 2 kids who loves to entertain and be entertained, lovely family! A Great get away!!

Perfect place to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature

Fantastic, friendly, helpful hosts; attractive and comfortable apartments; small scale; breakfast and dinner (optional but highly recommended) in the open kitchen area; some hikes possible

Off-the-beaten-track is a plus, but difficult access road makes it harder to get back and forth to explore and hike other island areas. 4WD absolutely essential.

Highly recommend

We had a wonderfull time in Roots and would definitely recommend it (for nature lovers). With a 4x4 the road is OK (rented at courtesy) and lead to beautiful cottages in the tropical rainforest. The cottage was very clean, comfortable beds and nice balcony with hammock and amazing view. The cooking of guadeloupe is very good so would recommend to join for dinner. Also, because you're isolated with a road that we didn't want to do in the dark. Hiking in the surrounding rainforest (especially to secret pool) is very nice and they gave us excellent tips for the area. We were also interested in eco farm and guadeloupe/martin advised which one to visit. Supercool to see how al the fruits/spices grow. We had a wonderfull time at Roots!

Would recommend to go with a rented car to roots, so you're flexible (for example also for lunch)

A wonderful way to connect with nature in the rain forest.

Our hosts were terrific. Knowledgeable and helpful. The location is beautiful and a chance to truly connect with nature. I loved listening to the birds, seeing the stars and sunrise over the trees. And the occasional downpour! It isn’t right for every traveler, though. There is only electricity from 4-10 PM and there aren’t lounge chairs.

The only problem for us was the road, which is treacherous and made us reluctant to come and go. I’d say perfect for a 2-3 night stay or for someone who doesn’t mind driving on very rough roads.

This is, simply put, the best accommodation I have ever booked, ran by the best hosts I ever met. Nothing and nobody tops it, an absolutely unique, dream-like location on this globe, and far better even compared to what I expected. Nature-lovers, waterfall fans, jungle fanatics, hikers, escapists, dreamers, look no further, this is the place and the deal you have been looking for.

very special place with amazing hosts! everything is natural and there are several jungle hikes right from the accommoda

unique and special experience in the heart of the jungle! self sustaining eco tourist heaven

unfortunately the electricity was out except for 4-10pm while we were there. owners were working hard to get the system back (I think it should be back 24/7 soon)

Jungle Lodge Set in Northern Forest Reserve

The surrounding nature in the middle of the Northern Forest Reserve was absolutely astounding. It was so beautiful and peaceful! The host, Guadeloupe, was ultra friendly and helpful. She was a fountain of information about location guides and sightseeing. She was also an excellent cook. Breakfast was included in our rate, but we also had dinner there both nights of our stay and it was delicious and healthy!

A tricky 2.5 km off-road drive that required 4WD to get from the main road to the lodge.

The hosts are extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast and dinner are freshly prepared with local and/or self-grown incredients (super delicious!). The location in the middle of untouched nature is absolutely astonishing! Travel advice given by the hosts were perfect - wish our stay would have been longer ; ) See you next time!

great place if you are prepared for a jungle retreat

location was awesome. peaceful and beautiful. the sounds of the river, birds, especially the parrots were lovely.

Power was not always available. no wifi in rooms. hot water was not easily regulated. the road to the property requires a 4X4 and good nerves

Hospitality and kindness of the owners. As a couple, we definitely recommend this place 100%. Furthermore, the location is perfect to visit the North of the island.
