Excellent owner-run property.

The owner, who lives on the upper floor, took excellent care of our needs. The lower-level property (house really) where we stayed was independent, spacious, clean, appropriately furnished and had nice views. Roseau downtown is a long walk or short walk+bus ride away. The pleasant owner put us in touch with a local driver, a knowledgeable man, who took us in his van taxi one day to Titou Gorge and other nature sites nearby. By far, the best place we stayed at in Dominica.

All was good.

Très très bon séjour

L’emplacement idéal, très belle vue sur roseau et montagne avoisinante. le logement propre avec l’équipement nécessaire pour cuisiné. Myriam une vrai perle, a su nous mettre alaise, proposant service de blanchisserie, et réactive a la moindre sollicitation . Les tortues de compagnie adoré par les enfants.

Bright and Airy with Peekaboo Views but . . .

The apt is bright and airy. There are peekaboo views of the Caribbean. Our host, Miriam, was responsive and tried to be helpful. Two red-footed tortoises live in her garden/patio area. A big, beautiful Huntsman spider moved into a corner on the ceiling during our stay, in preparation to give birth). You can sit at a table on a back patio area (we sat there and sketched one day).

The apt is up a narrow street in a dense housing area. The bldg isn't signed and there are no house numbers, so the taxi driver did not like driving there and had difficulty finding the apt. Without screens, the mosquitos are plentiful, although there are mosquito nets over the beds. We did learn how to catch the local buses (actually mini vans marked only with an H on the license plates) to get groceries in town and to get around the island, and that was an adventure but required agility. The area is noisy, and someone was burning garbage uphill. With people still working to recover from the 2017 hurricane, we hesitate to dislike anything, but also want to be honest about our experience.

It was a wonderful and relaxing night, wish i could of stay until the sun rose.

They wasn't any breakfast, I left very early in the morning. The view was spectacular even though it was night when I arrived. I loved the Mosquito net (i tend to get bitten when i visit the islands) It was sleeping in the jungle, all the crickets and other critters. Beautiful.

I know its unavoidable but the mosquitos. Some of the windows should of screens like we have in North America, but I think that's a Caribbean thing. So would of liked to have screens and always had to close doors quickly.

Needs some work on comfort and safety

It was spacious. Internet was good.

There were no curtains. Weird. Some of the windows can not be locked. Didnt feel safe.

Disappointing

The house is not closed of for mosquitoes, the nets above the beds are to small, so the fan blew them away. The house is not in the location provided by Booking and the owner didn't give us the directions... Took us a long time to get there.

We had a lovely stay. enjoyed the space in the property

The property is light and airy especially with the prevailing breeze. Miriam is a very friendly host and always made sure we were ok. central location is great for exploring the island and getting to dive suites south and north.

The daily drive down and up the hill takes some getting used to, narrow road, obstacles and tight corners. not great in the dark…!

A friendly host and an amazing view.

Myriam was a very friendly host who helped us get acquainted with Roseau. On the first day she offered to pick us up from the port which was a huge help! The accomodation was very clean and tidy and perfect for four people. The property also has a great view of Roseau and the bay. Myriam was also flexible and kindly offered us a fifth mattress when we thought we might be a party of five people.

The location of the property isn't too central but Myriam pointed us to a bus link that takes you directly to the centre of town until around 7pm so this was not a huge problem.

Authentic but not for the faint of heart

Very very friendly owner who lives upstairs. Was willing to help with all requests yet gave us our privacy as well. For better or worse, the apt is located in a real neighborhood with all different segments of the population present so you get to know the real life of the Dominicans although at first it felt a bit nervous. Nice view from a few of the windows of the apt.

The location is further away from Roseau as shown in booking.com and impossible to reach without own car even so it is a nerve-wrenching drive up narrow winding roads on a steep hill (driving on the wrong side of the road). The furniture is very simple (plastic table and chairs etc) but this is on the pictures and acceptable. Warm water only in the shower which didn't work during our stay, the owner didn't try to fix it either although we didn't complain too much. Some of the "windows" are non-existent (either glass missing or the whole frame missing) including the front window which felt very unsafe at night especially before we got to know Dominicans and their friendly ways.
