me and my daughter just turned back home and already miss our great stay. the room are very clean , have all you need. breakfast and dinner are superlatives. loved to step out the room and putting my barefoot directly on the sand...few steps more and you're directly on the wide, white beach. you can use the two bicycles to wander around and if you love to sleep with the sound of the ocean, the quietness of the nature surrounding you, great staff at your disposal what whatever you need...well this is the right spot. thanks to Sebastian and laura :-))

Location is very good, staff is extremely polite and food is tasty
Property is very good but overpriced, we stayed at better properties for lesser price
4.7
The food was very good not the cheapest but value for the cost compared to other resorts
The fact that PoaPoa was on the beach and the staff were very good and speak English They pointed us in the right direction to get the best out of our stay
Our only problem was that we needed to stay longer.
as the flights from the UK are so long (14 hours)

boutique, on the beach, original

The closeness to the beach and to some nice restaurants and hotels alongside. The pool was a good size to swim in. The evening entertainment on the one night was adequate. Air con was powerful.
The lack of common sense and training with waiters and having to ask them for every little thing. There were four in our group and they would bring one spoon, or one bowl or not bring sugar with the tea. Also very slow.
Our room was towards the back so we could hear the noise from the staff quarters which was continuous.
The shower was very awkward. There was no holder for the shower head so you would struggle to put soap and then put water at the same time. No shower curtain or holder for products.
Lack of communication for when the power went off. We had to tell the reception there was no lights and then we were told yes there is a problem. Had a good few hours with only our section of the 2 rooms having no power.

Everything was great. Small hotel, personal treat, beach staff pool great. Hotels gives free drinking water for free. 2x a week live music
Should be a fridge in the room

everything was great

Very friendly managers and staff.
The place is small, but very beautiful and cozy, located right at the beach. Parasols and a couple of trees provide sufficient shade to hide from the sun.
Drinking water is also provided for free.
Water sports activities can be found right next to the hotel.
Food at the restaurant is great, and there are also other restaurants nearby.
All in all, we had a wonderful time.

Everything! Room has everything you need, was super clean. We loved small boutique hotel atmosphere, you have privacy but can also sit on the beach, not so many people bothering you as in other beaches. Pool was great, food and drinks excellent and we also had an opportunity to see live concert (twice a week now). If we will come back - only to Poa Poa! beach is wide and water ok - you can go for a long walk and see beautifull sunset.
Laura, Magda and staff are super helpful, always smiling :) it was a short one but we loved it!

Poa poa is a lovely and cozy place. I really enjoyed the time I spent there. Having a dinner just two steps away from the ocean is amazing, one of the most thought-provoking atmosphere I've ever experienced. The staff is well prepared and the cucine they offer is mouth-watering.
Lastly, Mirembe has scored 10 out of 10 in hospitality. With her kindness, smile and humour she will kick off your perfect stay in the perfect place. Thanks again for you express visa delivery service 😁😁😁😁
No one drawback to point out

Very Nice people however The Owner was polish and so was The majority of The guests - that was somewhat Strange
That everybody was fron Polen - better with an international crowd

The whole experience was great, friendly staff great location and lovely food, prepaired like in a 5 star resturant. And the best Mojito in Zanzibar 😊 We will be back for sure❤️

The scenery and design of the area is amazing, very beautiful and very relaxing, beyond what we expected. The beach is just in front of the accommodation and it is very beautiful and clean. The staff are always helpful, always with a smile and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The swimming pool is very nice too, we spent a lot of our time there. The food at the restaurant was very good too, would definitely recommend it.
I can't find anything I didn't like about the place. The only problem, which is not related to the hotel, is that once you leave the accommodation to go to the beach, there are countless people who want to sell you things and are very pushy and difficult to avoid.

Poa Poa Bungalows is a a sweet, little, perfect piece of paradise!!! It's quiet and relaxing with all mod cons you need!! The onsite restaurant/bar has the most delicious food and tasty drinks. I would highly recommend Poa Poa for your next stay!!
4.7
The place is lovely, well kept and has all the necessary amenities (swimming pool, WiFi, etc). Laura and the whole team will go out of their way to help you, including arranging trips or taxis. The breakfast is delicious, comes with good coffee, fruits, fresh juice and more. The bar has a great variety of cocktails and dishes, and there is live music on Thursday nights. Would totally recommend staying here if you are looking for a small hotel.

Had a lovely stay at Poa Poa! The structure is very nice and overlooks the sea. Chef's dishes and cocktails are delicious. A big thank you to Laura, Ania and all the staff for making our stay pleasant. We could not choose a better place for our stay in Kiwengwa
4.7
Poa Poa is tiny and well placed in the sorroundings, room is comfortable and the place is in front of the sea and you can chill and eat while watching the sea. We definitely suggest the restaurant of Poa even if you sleep outside the hotel
4.7
It´s a small resort with very private atmosphere. The owner and the manager take good care of the place and do their best to make their guests feel at home. The staff are super polite and attentive. Everything in the resort is very pretty and clean. We would certainly choose this resort again.
We found the food in the restaurant overpriced and opted for the local restaurants in the nearby village. The mattress in our room seemed a little worn off.

Nice new little hotel at the beach with a lot of restaurants close by. My Room was bis enough and clean. Friendly staff.
Unfortunately this is more an event location then a place to relax. During my stay there were 1 - 2 wedding ceremonies a day. Sun beds are right next to it. Wedding parties and hotel staff are walking close by which means there is no privacy on the property or at the beach while relaxing. There is no sound insulation in the bungalows.

beautiful location, well kept grounds, friendly and helpful staff. absolutely delicious food from the restaurant

Fantastic, great value little hotel right on the beach. Clean simple bungalow rooms which open right onto the sand. Rooms are very well set up for travellers with numerous universal power points and good Wi-Fi throughout. Great tasting breakfast and other meal options. Laura, Ania and the rest of the staff were amazing.

Poa Poa is a beautiful, cozy place that made us feel at home. The owner Laura and the staff (especially Anna and Godfrey) were all very nice, attentive and they made our stay very special.
The location is great, directly on the beach with many shops and small restaurants at walking distance.
The restaurant is the best on the coast! They make excellent seafood (we recommend the octopus) and the breakfast was also delicious with lots of fruits and juices.
Thank you all for a memorable stay and we definitely recommend this place!

We enjoyed everything of our 7-day stay, the location was fantastic with direct access to the beach and a room with sea view. The staff was super nice and always available to help and very flexible with our requests. last but not least the restaurant is seriously one of the best in zanzibar: extremely high quality of food and the breakfast was fantastic! We would recommend PoaPoa 100%!
nothing to highlight

The property was in a stunning location. the backdrop was paradise. The room was clean and spacious with a fantastic hot shower and the outdoor area was quiet and relaxing with comfy sun loungers. Pool was also clean and inviting. Food for all meals was to a very high standard and very enjoyable.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

We Cannot recommend Poa Poa. Looking at my profile you can see that I usually give good and very fair reviews. But honesty is a must - especially when it is affecting your long desired vacation.
it’s apparently a new place and everything seems still a bit improvised. The beach and the outside area are beautiful, they also just build a nice pool. We also booked a taxi via the accommodation and when our flight got several times delayed the manager arranged everything with them. She also welcomed us in the middle of the night which we found very nice.
All in all we cannot understand the previous good reviews. We did not feel comfortable in the bungalow as it smelled very moldy and when we arrived the room was not freshly cleaned. However after we mention it the next morning it was immediately cleaned. The bed is way too small and with an extremely bad mattress, pillows very uncomfortable and smell weird. the led of the toilet should urgently be changed. There is dirt on it which cannot be removed even after cleaning. Every human is different in what they like, so I understand others might see this point differently - which is absolutely fine.
What they don’t tell you in advance is that they are also kind of an event place and almost every day they have weddings on the property, sometimes even more then one, which is effecting your privacy and relax time tremendously. you are laying at the pool or beach and everything happens literally next to you.
what bothered us the most was the party evening Which was supposed to end at 10pm but only ended after we asked an hour later how long the loud music will continue. Music was turned off finally but the guests (that were mostly employees from the place and the owner) were behaving like drunk kids shouting, laughing loud, jumping to the pool - all directly in front of our bungalow. What was alarming to us, was how they were dealing with this the next day. The manager came to us and apologized and said „sorry BUT we also started later so we wanted to give our wedding customers a good experience.“ then I asked what about the guests that are not at the party? Important to say that out of the 3 occupied rooms that where directly facing the property, only guests of one room participated the party. This place clearly doesn’t treat all clients equally. very unprofessional behavior.
We also found it a bad value for money. High prices, especially in the restaurant.
