About this house rental
A classic Catskills cottage located steps away from the picturesque town of Margaretville. Situated on 6 acres of wooded property, the house is private enough to feel like an escape while close enough to Main St & the many amenities of Margaretville to feel connected. Cafes, restaurants, an ice cream shop & more are a short walk into town. The home is close to an array of mountains and trails for hiking, mountain climbing, biking, fishing, skiing and more.
Our house is 2 hours north/northwest of the GW Bridge. A unique design in the area, this cedar-shingled home comes complete with everything you need for a perfect get-away.
The house is set back from the street, tucked away by tall, full trees and has 2 spacious yards located in the front and back. The backyard contains a small fire pit perfect for roasting marshmallows or spending time with friends.
The living room has enough seats to comfortably accommodate four to five people, its smart TV is set up with all the latest apps. For those looking to unplug or have fun on a rainy day, there are a great selection of boardgames for your use. The living room and kitchen share an open plan making entertaining easy.
The kitchen has been newly renovated and is complete with an electric range/oven, microwave, large fridge, new dishwasher, and Keurig coffee maker. Utensils, plates, glasses, and a variety of cooking items are available.
There are two large bedrooms: the first with a king-sized bed, a dresser and a double closet; the second with queen-sized bed, a large dresser and single closet. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower, toilet and sink with vanity.
We keep a Pack-n-Play and a Svan high chair in the main room closet for any guests with little ones as well as two toddler-sized air mattresses and a queen-sized air mattress in the living room closet.
The back porch runs the entire length of the house and includes a table that seats 6. Here you can take in views of the Pakatakan Mountain with your morning coffee or enjoy your meals in the fresh mountain air.
The home's temperature is digitally-controlled through a Nest Thermostat with central air and heat, although screened doors in the front and back create an amazing cross breeze. The basement has a new washer/dryer for guests to use. Its wifi is powerful enough to support any WFH scenario and its SimpliSafe security system is available for use to all guests.

My two daughters and I stayed here for three days, two of which were rainy. We loved it. The house is sepernice, clean and comfortable. Great kitchen with basic staples and quality cooking gear, good knives. Our hosts were responsive to every question. We Would definitely like to stay in this house again

Jason was quick to respond to any questions.
The house was decorated beautifully. The beds super comfortable. The kitchen very well equipped with all the necessary tools and gadgets. The property was maintained and manicured. Easy one minute to town by car. The walk up the hill is a great morning workout. Location was quiet. Can't say enough great things!

Great place to stay at for a classic Catskills ski experience! A clean and cozy space to come back to after a day on the slopes. You are neighbors with Belleayre and Plattekill. You are even a short drive to Hunter or Windham. We enjoyed our stay there with family.

We escaped to the Catskills for some much needed R/R surrounded by nature. The house on the hill with its gorgeous view of the mountain and the unpolluted night sky (we got treated to a spectacular meteor shower show) was exactly what we needed. In addition, beds were super comfy, and Wifi was excellent for our Netflix and YouTube-addicted contingent, and the proximity to Margaretville with its easily accessible and quite well stocked super market was a bonus. S'mores on the fire pit, board game night and lots of hiking, when the weather cooperated. We had a great time.

We travel often and found this home to be very nice and clean. Had a great view of the mountains. The owner was easy to reach with only a little issue with checking in but not his fault as I couldn’t find my check in information. He picked up and was very accommodating. I would recommend this home to everyone who likes to sit on the deck and have a relaxing coffee break looking up the mountains.

Great stay
My husband, 2-year old, and I stayed at the property over the July 4th weekend. The house was very well-equipped, even having shampoo & conditioner for adults and kiddos in the shower. There was plenty of space for our family of 3. One of the reasons we chose this property was that it has less knick knacks for our curious toddler to get into, which was great. The location was convenient to town, though walking to town would have been a challenge because it's up a big hill. But it was easy enough to drive into town. One unexpected and fun surprise is that we could see the Margaretville fireworks from the main bedroom, which was great because we didn't stay out to see them. The owner Jason was very responsive. I would definitely recommend this place!

Wonderful!
Jason was the perfect host. I had no substantive questions or concerns. Nonetheless, when I did need to contact him, he replied to my messages very promptly and efficiently.
The home was charming and tastefully decorated and the views are spectacular. Entry and exit instructions were easy to understand. It was very clean and well-stocked. For example, the kitchen tools were surprisingly good. The pots and pans were of good quality, as were the knives—which did not require sharpening. If you like to cook when you are away, you'll be happy.
The quaint village of Margaretville was suitable for our purposes. One downside does not at all reflect the quality of the home or the host's care. Specifically, you'll have a hard time finding many dining options in or near the town. Fortunately, there is a convenience store, supermarket, and cafe literally down the hill a bit. If you are planning mainly to eat out (as we were) carefully plan ahead. (We didn't.) Overall, this was a great stay. We'll definitely try to book this home again when we are next in the area.

Ski weekend
Had a great time at the property. Plan on using this property again for other ski weekends. My only concern is navigating the hill to get up to the property if there’s a significant amount of snow on the ground.Love the view out of the big window overlooking the town. Saw a few deer roaming around. Thanks again for a great weekend!

Perfect weekend getaway!
House was very clean and nice - perfect for a couples weekend getaway in upstate New York. Checked out a bunch of restaurants & breweries in neighboring towns. House is easy to find & communication was great. Would stay here again 👍🏻

Accessible Seclusion
Want to be two minutes from Main Street but feel like you're 2 hours? This is it. My wife, toddler, and I loved sitting around the fire pit every night and then popping down to a cafe for pastries and coffee the next morning. The house itself was perfect for our family of three. And the hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. My three-year-old almost cried when we finally had to leave. I knew how she felt.
