This house had everything we could have asked for...right down to a bag of marshmallows for s'mores! The inside was beautiful, beds comfy, and fully stocked kitchen. We had a great time playing pool, darts and sitting around the fire pit at night. We relaxed by the lake while the kids spent the day kayaking and canoeing around the lake. The area is secluded and we didn't have to leave the house at all. Would definitely book this house again!

This house is one of the best on Bear Creek Lake, has everything you need for a great vacation with your loved ones. It has a Beautiful backyard with easy lake access with a beach and dock. And it’s close to Jim Thorpe. The hosts are wonderful and can’t say enough good things about it.

My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay at Bear Creek Lake retreat! The lakefront house is absolutely beautiful and is equipped with everything we needed. The host checked in with us and made us feel very welcome. The lake is perfect for swimming, floating and kayaking. We also enjoyed playing tennis at the recreational center (passes were included). Highly recommend!

My family of 5 (including 3 children under 6) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this immaculate home. We found the home to be both clean and crisp while simultaneously cozy and having all the comforts of home. We were unlucky with weather, but we’re still able to get out a bit to enjoy local hiking and waterfalls. The owner was extremely helpful in regards to recommending things to do from the point of booking until the week of,when she was able to recommend some indoor activities. ❤️
My kids had an absolute blast. We sat by the fire, played games, scootered in the huge garage space, baked cookies, set up an indoor tent, hiked, and most importantly slowed down. It was exactly what we needed and the home/amazing view was the most perfect backdrop for it.
We would love to come back as I’m sure it would be perfection any time of the year. This home has everything you need and felt like a luxurious stay. There’s also Plenty of room for multiple families.Thank you!

We stayed in early January for a ski/snowtubing weekend. We got lucky with the weather as there was a storm over the weekend so there was fresh snow for skiing as well as a picturesque view. The house was fantastic. Beautiful design and extremely clean. More than spacious fitting two families of four. The owners ensured we had all the necessary information for our stay and had great amenities to use even though we didn’t have enough time to use everything as our stay was short. I would certainly book this place again especially in summer to enjoy the lake.

We spent a week at this home with our children, their spouses and 3 grandchildren ages 11 months, 1, and 3. There was plenty of space for all of us and lots of room for the children to play. The kitchen was very well equipped for all of our meals and the beach and lake were great!
The owner, Vanessa, was easy to communicate with and checked on us mid-week to make sure all was well and we did not need anything.
The house was very clean. It was a fun week for our family!

Perfect property for our 3 generation family to celebrate our daughter’s graduation with her Master’s from the University of Scranton. We enjoyed the watercraft, the fire pit and the large open kitchen and living room. Adult “kids” played pool in the garage. Bonus was the downstairs bedroom, office and living area. My husband and I stayed at the property with a couple friends for my 50th birthday. The owner’s (Jon) communication with me was amazing. He was very responsive and answered all of my questions. The house was very clean, stocked with all the essentials & absolutely beautiful - the lake view was the perfect scenery for morning coffee. There’s plenty to do right on the property. We all loved the house and location. Being right on the lake was amazing. We had coffee out there every morning, kayaked during the day and sat by the fire at night. We went to Jim Thorpe for my birthday weekend. We had the best time! The house is gorgeous with attention to everything! The kitchen is well stocked, firewood as well as smores items are provided, well stocked with paper products, towels and blankets, we had fun on the lake with the kayaks and canoe provided as well as the game room in the garage. The detail to the decor was beautiful and so welcoming. We only had to go 3 min. to a grocery store and 15 min. to restaurants or Jim Thorpe. Definitely do the train ride and walk around Thorpe. So Beautiful!!

Our family and friends had a great time at the property. Everything was beautiful and clean just as described. Beautiful scenery for any time of the year. The house is stocked with what you need and more. We had 2 babies with us and the open concept made it so much easier to keep an eye on them. We had a wonderful time. Bear Creek Lake is one of our favorite places! Having so many things there already, such as linens, towels and watercraft, made it so easy. This place was gorgeous and the owners were so responsive! We hope to be back again!

Great Place
It was a great house that had a well equipped kitchen. My grandkids had a great time on the paddle boards and kayaks. The floating raft was very enjoyable as we took it out in the middle of the lake and jumped off. We will go back again.

Wonderful Bear Creek Lake
As other reviews have stated, the house is clean, well equipped, extremely comfortable and just right for our party of 6 ranging from 9-yrs old to 69-years old. We have members who enjoyed the large-screen TVs upstairs and down as well as everyone who enjoyed the many opportunities for outdoor activities including horseback riding, white-water rafting (6 min from the house), boating on Bear Creek Lake, park trail hiking, scenic railroad excursions and fishing from both the private dock and from a canoe (PA license required for those over 16). Although the community pool was closed due to mechanical failure, there was no end to the shenanigans leading to a dip in the lake. As advertised, the lake is mostly shallow so diving is strongly discouraged. The new landscaping was complete enough for us to enjoy evenings around the fire pit with the provided firewood (and maybe a S'mores or two). As advertised, all 4 bedrooms have a lake view which means the morning sunrise views through the trees from the beds are gorgeous with brilliant reds and orange. To cap off our stay, for the shoppers, there was a community yard sale providing an opportunity to tour the beautiful neighborhood.
Should there be questions or other needs, the homeowners, Vanesa and Jon, are extremely responsive and a joy to work with since they obviously take great pride in ensuring their guests get the maximum fun from their vacation with the least hastle. They have provided this magic kitchen drawer which provides the answers to most questions that might arise.
We hope to have future opportunities to repeat our vacation here.

Girls Weekend Getaway
I stayed with a group of girlfriends for a long weekend and can't say enough great things about the property. Not only was it absolutely beautiful, the house was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. Vanesa and Jon had great communication throughout the stay, and we lucked out with the perfect weather to enjoy all the lake had to offer. Already thinking about when i'd like to book my next stay!

Tranquil at Bear Creek
We just finished our vacation in Bear creek with family .. the place is beautiful.. well furnished with very good appliances and fully equipped recreational activities including activities in the lake .. you can hear the birds chirping in the morning and watching the sunset in the serene lake with the bonfire .. Vanessa and Jon do a splendid job of describing the property and are excellent host and very prompt in communicating .. they have the mesh NEST internet and it was good quality in every room .. we used the bikes , tennis rackets and had got our own basket ball which we played every day and the kayaks .. kids loved to do s’mores at sunset .. I recommend atoxling up your groceries and meet from also which is 20-25 minutes away .. we trekked the hawk eye falls glen onoko falls and the butter milk and Luke falls ( more of gravel bike ride) and lastly did the scenic train ride in Jin Thorpe .. if you like ice cream then scoops is good place to visit which is a few minutes away .. thank you Jon and Vanessa for sharing lovely heart warming home .. which is truly a home away from home
