POOL:
One outstanding feature is the spacious, privacy-fenced backyard with a large 16’ by 36’ in-ground pool with two fountains, a screened gazebo with dining table, ceiling fans, and lighting, plus a convenient pool house with an outdoor kitchen and a bath with a luxurious oversized tile shower. An extra nice feature is the large poolside deck loaded with furniture for all your needs, not often found in vacation rental homes. The pool generally opens around March 27 (Depending on Temperature). THE WATER WILL BE COLD AT FIRST, but it should be more comfortable for swimming within a few weeks as long as we get some sunny weather. Until then, the brave are welcome to swim, or you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the fountains as you lounge by the pool and make s'mores on the sole stove. (Those daring enough to take a dip in March or early April are welcome to do so - it's been done many times!)The pool closes around October 1, again dependent on temperature.
KITCHEN:
The 5 or 6-bedroom home features a first-floor, fully renovated kitchen with breakfast nook and GE Profile stainless steel appliances, including a convection/air-fry oven, dishwasher, microwave, and large refrigerator with water and ice in the door. There is also a second refrigerator in the three-season outdoor kitchen so you never run out of refrigerator space.
Also on the first floor is the Southwest bedroom with a queen bed and direct access to a half bath (we call it the Palm room!) The half bathroom can also be accessed from the foyer, so it can be shared.
FIRST FLOOR:
The first-floor L-shaped living/dining area has leather dining chairs and large comfortable couches and chairs for viewing the flatscreen TV.
SECOND FLOOR:
1. Primary bedroom with a queen-size bed, a desk, and a leather chair for viewing the 60' LED TV with soundbar
2. Second bedroom with a queen bed
3. Third bedroom with a double bed, a twin bed, and a futon that can be used as a bed. It's as large as the master bedroom.
4. Fourth bedroom is a beautifully renovated suite with a queen bed, full bath, and walk-in shower, and offers an additional laundry area.
BASEMENT:
In the basement, you'll find the large den/sixth bedroom combination with a queen-size bed, leather couch, and love seat, and a flat-screen Smart HDTV and sound system. There is a half bath on this level. In addition, you’ll find a convenient laundry room with a washer and dryer in another section of the basement, and we supply all the laundry products. Laundry chutes on the first and second floors send all the dirty laundry directly to the basement laundry room. You can play air hockey with the kids while the laundry is drying!
RESERVATIONS:
We mostly book through HomeAway or VRBO (or other affiliated websites) because it’s very safe and secure for our guests. During checkout, Guests review our attached rental agreement and house rules and agree to them by checking the box and completing the reservation request. Due to insurance regulations, we rent only to those over the age of 25. For smokers, we ask that you smoke outside ONLY and properly dispose of cigarette butts.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
SPECIAL NOTE: We encourage guests to purchase "cancel for any reason" travel insurance for your trip as long as the coronavirus pandemic continues. (FYI, our cleaning crew is taking extra precautions to sanitize the home between guests, especially doorknobs, faucets, light switches, TV remotes, etc.)
RESTAURANTS/SUPERMARKETS:
If you’re looking for good local eateries close to the house, walk to Deiner’s on Main Street for breakfast. If you’re hungry for bagels, Ressler’s Bagels and Deli will hit the spot, a very short drive from the house. They were rated a perfect “10”, the best bagels in all of central Pennsylvania. Juice ‘N Java, in Windsor Park Shopping Center, five minutes from the house, is a great coffee shop with gourmet sandwiches, etc., free Wi-Fi, and laptops provided. We enjoy the fabulous gyros, lamb dishes, chargrilled souvlaki, just everything at Hellenic Kouzina, a family-run Greek restaurant with parents and sometimes all nine children pitching in. In season, you can eat in the courtyard with a stone fountain and hanging lights. Don't forget to try Rakestraw's Ice Cream, just a few blocks' stroll from the house, Dad's Garage Grill, or Eckels' Ice Cream Fountain, a blast from the past on Main Street. All of the above restaurants are within five minutes or less from the house by car, and our area has lots of the major chain restaurants as well. There are two Giant Supermarkets within a five-minute drive, and the upscale Wegman's Groceries with gourmet selections of cheese, a Mediterranean bar, craft beer, great sushi, and an expansive hot and cold food bar with a dining area is a short drive from the home.

Wonderful!

We loved the pool area. We could have used a few more coffee mugs and the frying pans were very well used, teflon coating full of scratches. Also, would have like to have had curtains that closed in the living room.

This is a perfect place for a family get-together! Our family ranges in age from 2.5 to 75, and there was something for everyone!

The outdoor area is not justified with the online pictures. The family consensus was best ever and that includes vacations at the shore and lakes. Lots of room for everyone.

My group of friends have gathered yearly at several different properties and this is the first time we’ve decided to return to the same home for a second year.
In an extremely hot July week, the house AC was terrific and the pool was AWESOME!

The inground swimming pool and large backyard were perfect! Our large family was able to enjoy a 4th of July BBQ. Plenty of space for eating together indoors as well. The living room was spacious with enough seating for family movie nights.

Our family used the home for lodgings for our immediate family for our son’s wedding. Perfect for our group. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay therein the summer. The pool and background looked awesome!

My Grandfather built this house. I thought it would be nice to take a trip down memory lane but wasn't sure how others in the family would feel. Turns out we all had a blast. Brooks was wonderful to deal with and does a really nice job maintaining the property. Highly recommended, even if you are not part of the family. ;-)

Great property!!
Loved the whole week

The property was great however there was a lot of traffic noise. We also had to buy more pool towels, toilet paper, large trash bags and fire wood. All of which was supposed to be supplied. Upstairs a/c unit dripped on bed however was resolved by cleaning filter. Pool house shower was used a lot as house showers were minimal.

The place was very clean, well stocked and very private. Close to various attractions but the in ground pool was a bigger hit with the kids. We spent a couple of days just enjoying the pool. Plenty of comfortable lounge chairs as well as a screened in gazebo which accommodated our group of 10.

Very well maintained. Check in to check out, the whole process was easy. Outdoor area with the pool was perfect to enjoy a meal and for the kids to swim. The outdoor bathroom by the pool was so convenient. Would definitely book again if staying in the area.

We were three families with 6 kids ranging ages 8-16. We used the house, which was super clean and well-appointed, as a home base for a long weekend at Lancaster, Hershey Park and Gettysburg. The house was a perfect central home base. Everyone had plenty of space and the kitchen and dining room were great.
Mechanicsburg was really cute, as well.
We only wish it had been warm enough to better use the pool and outdoor space, which was lovely.

Great property in a fantastic location. So many extras - firepit for S'mores, Corn Hole, Basketball. Beautiful yard space and gazebo. Wish we could have used the pool - will need to return in the Summer.

The house, price, communication, neighborhood and close proximity to major attractions. This was the perfect house for our trip. Highly recommend this to anyone heading to PA. We went to Hershey and other area attractions and this was central to each. Communication was quick and easy!

We had a positively wonderful week in Mechanicsburg. The house was exactly the right size for us and the pool and back yard were a great place for us to gather. My little grandsons has plenty of space to play and we all enjoyed the gazebo…no mosquitos! We may make it an annual event! Thank you so much for your great communication and flexibility.

30 minute drive to Hershey Park which was ideal for our family trip. Kids wouldn't get out of pool! The kitchen can get a little tight for 12 people and the upstairs bathroom at top of stairs could use an industrial clean/renovation but otherwise, a fabulous house!
10.0 / 10.0
The pool makes the house - it was awesome using it and being able to simply relax in it. We did many other things (bike rides, hiking, Gettysburg, and Hershey Park) all were a short drive from house (30 minutes or less). House was very well equipped, one bedroom was a little funky being in back of bathroom with another bedroom in front of bathroom. Would definitely rent from Brooks again.
10.0 / 10.0
We had 12 people and it was big enough. The outdoor space was terrific, the outside bathroom was so convenient. We would go back again.

The property manager was on top of everything. The house was a little dated and could use a few updates and minor repairs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Couldn't ask for more
Very clean and nice. Pool is absolutely awesome. Very clean and nice. Property managers were very responsive and caretakers were great. Large family vacation and no issues with property. Gazebo is also a great place to "get away" or play a game (and a bit cooler thanks to the fans). Everything was very nice. Can't say enough good about it.

Great relaxing vacation spot with fully stocked amenities
We had a great time vacationing in this home! Everything from linens to kitchenware to games and pool floats were included so we didn’t have to bring everything or go out to purchase items for our stay. The owner, Brooks Watts, was in contact to ensure check in went smoothly and made himself available if needed. We enjoyed exploring nearby bike paths, walking to town for ice cream, visiting Amish communities, Hershey Park, and Gettysburg and returning each day to cool off and relax in the pool. Check out was equally easy and Brooks reached out again to make sure there were no issues with the home. My family had a great week exploring the area and relaxing in the pool with absolutely no hassles!

Nice place to stay.
Nice place to stay. A little smaller than expected but worked well. Good be cleaned better found dog hair in one bed so had to wash sheets before using. Also dusty in the corners and along base boards. Very nice back yard and pool and gazebo area. Would definitely rent again.

Nice
The property is nice, but needed some attention to cleanliness in the bathrooms and pool. He did have a pool attendant come out and clean up the pool after we notified him. Great location, we did a lot of day trips to Hershey and Gettysburg.
