Stayed here for 4 days with my wife and used it as a jumping off point for a backpacking trip. We spent our time here exploring the local parks, enjoying the pool, and having the occasional burger in town.

Reviewer Comments:
This nice cabin just needs some TLC and investments that are not expensive. Replace old stained rugs. Get window shades for upstairs room that faces the sun at dawn (imagine the sun hitting the bed starting at 6 am!). Get some shades also for deck sliding door. Super hot when sun hits there. Missing opening latch for same deck sliding door. Don’t use winter linen sheets in the summer!! Get new utensils, current ones are really old.

A wonderful location, a great clean and open home, quiet back patio - it was a lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! The back deck is awesome and the house is comfortable and clean. My only recommendation is that the house needs a new barbeque because the current one is a little worn out. We will return!

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and had a lovely stay. The house is comfortable and well-appointed. We spent many hours relaxing on the deck, enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was very quiet and relaxing. We used the grill and had fabulous meals enjoying the view. We hope to return for a longer stay!

Nice place at a very convenient location. Description accurate, owner responsive.

Loved the location, cabin was clean, warm and well maintained and the kitchen was particularly well stocked with supplies and cookware.

Love the place ! Bedding and beds were so comfortable. Gas fireplace was heated the living room and loft up nicely. One down side was that the downstairs bathroom had no heat and a really loud fan. It was too cold to take a shower. Luckily upstairs bathroom had some heat

House has great mountain vibes with cozy furniture and a great common space. Process was smooth and streamlined. We'll come again!

The house was immaculate and the kitchen was better-equipped than many of the houses we've rented in Arnold. Also, the owners/managers were responsive and easy to deal with. We went in winter and appreciated that the driveway only has a slight decline -- made it much easier to get out the morning after a significant snow storm. The neighborhood was quiet, and the house looks out over a valley, so there are wonderful views from the deck. We would definitely return.

Clean and cozy cabin. Well and thoughtfully equipped house including kitchen with all accessories you need to enjoy your stay. Great location convenient for restaurants, skiing at Bear valley or day trips to Arnold and Murphys. We really enjoyed our stay and can recommend this place for a family vacation.

Love this place! Kind of don’t want anyone else to know about i! Only suggestion would be a curtain for the loft space, but otherwise an awesome cabin in the woods: deeply restful, peaceful, and homey.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Pooh Corner. While my partner worked remotely, I enjoyed my time on the deck - reading, looking out into the wilderness and enjoying the birds and squirrels amongst the trees, grilling dinner, and star gazing. Aside from the noise of a neighboring home being renovated, the neighborhood is quiet, especially at night. Everything is just a quick drive away - The Big Trees, the grocery store, the ice cream parlor, White Pine Lake, etc. I look forward to returning.

The cabin is light, bright and airy and has a lovely back deck that overlooks a peaceful, dense forest with the scent of cedar. The neighborhood is quiet, the kitchen of the cabin is well-equipped and the living room furniture is very comfortable, especially the red leather couches. There are nice views out every window. I wasn't too crazy about the queen bed in the loft-- the mattress is only "marginal" --and I had to use earplugs at night because there is an intermittent creaking sound in the outside wall behind the bed--maybe the water pipes expanding and contracting?--but otherwise all was good. We definitely needed the fans provided for us upstairs.
The property managers were excellent with communication, and made check-in easy.

Check in process was so easy! TGlad to have cooking essentials such as dining (plates, mugs, glasses, etc) and cooking utensils (pots, pans). There were also basic spices and a waffle iron with mix available. Always a plus to minimize any trips to the store.
Loved the board games available and tons of hiking resources.
We were glad for the cozy space. Every year for the fourth of July, we take our dog to Arnold. The quiet is great and a getaway from the amount of fireworks in our hometown.
Strongly recommend for anyone to stay over.

Nice house and property. Views were great and the neighborhood was very quite. The appliances and kitchen provisions could use some updating and upgrades, additions. House was clean and comfortable. One suggestion would be to change the bedsets out for the warmer weather from the heavy flannel winter sets.

This space was absolutely adorable! So much light from the windows, the view from the back deck was delightful, especially for sipping coffee in the morning! Plenty of provisions for year round guests! We were coming to the area to visit Pine Crest Lake and found this property on the map, not realizing how far away it would be. Happy little accident though, because this space was fantastic and we were able to go to Big Trees State Park in addition to our plans at Pine Crest. The hosts were very quick to answer questions that we had about the property, which helped our stay as well.

We had a fantastic stay! Derek was super responsive to help with check-in. We had a great time. The house was the perfect size and location and we immediately rebooked to come back again with friends over Labor Day.

We had a great stay at the house. We arrived to a warm fireplace and music, and the rest of our stay was as smooth. Sledding in the backyard was perfect for our family. We’d read ahead of time to be careful of the railings since they are not child proof, so we were prepared for that with our little one. Communication with the property manager was easy and timely. Overall, a wonderful stay.

We really like this cabin! This was our 3rd stay here and we hope to return again.
While we find it very clean and comfortable here, there are a couple things we found unpleasant -
1 - the lighting, especially in the kitchen, is terrible! Most of the bulbs in the track lighting set up are burned out, and at least one of the bulbs in the living room lamps is hanging by a cord.
2 - we completely respect the requests to keep the floor clean, but it would make it much easier if there were more door mats upon which to wipe one's feet. When we arrived, there was a huge unavoidable puddle around the front door.

The cabin fit our needs and was well stocked. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed for snow activities. The house was warm when we arrived which was really nice since we arrived later then excepted.

Our family of four had a lovely three night stay in this cozy cabin. Tons of snow to play in right in the backyard, and a short drive to Bear Valley and other nearby sno-parks.
5.0
Excellent cabin with a ton of windows and natural light. Propane fireplace and room heaters kept us nice and cozy. The location is convenient off Hwy 4 and backs up to beautiful forest. Highly recommended. One drawback for small toddlers/infants - the gaps in the railing on the upstairs loft are quite wide and a small child could easily fall through them - just keep an eye out.

We had a great stay at Pooh Corner! It was the perfect size for our family. We used to have a family cabin in the neighborhood and have been missing the area. This was the perfect place to get our mountain “fix”. We will be back!

This was our 2nd visit to this cabin, we liked it so much when we were here in the spring, we knew we'd be back.

We loved this cozy, bright cabin north of Calaveras Big Trees. It was the perfect size for our family of 4 - our kids loved the loft style upstairs! The kitchen was well stocked, you never know exactly what you’ll get the first time renting a place but this had everything we needed to cook comfortably. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, our kids really appreciated the games and puzzles. Lovely location not far from Calaveras Big Trees and only about 20 mins to Bear Valley. We visited in the winter and easily drove up the hill to the Sno-Parks. We’d love to return in the summer and/or next winter!
