About this cabin rental
Summary:
Homesteaded in 1940, this beautifully restored mountain cabin is tucked into the hills of the Historic Ute Pass located midway between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park.
The home has been modernized for today’s conveniences but has maintained so much of its original rustic charm.
The setting is what you dream of when you envision a Colorado Mountain Log Cabin; the views of the Big Blue Sky, the Rolling Mountain Range and the Cascade of Evergreens and Aspen Trees that surround you.
The Space:
This is a cabin you will never want to leave! When you think of vacationing in Colorado, why not do it the way it should be done! An authentic and beautifully restored 1940’s log cabin, slipped between the evergreens and perched in the mountain range of the Historic Ute Pass. The home, the setting and the views will take your breath away!
Even when the day’s adventures are over, Cowboy Cabin will continue to infuse you with the spirit of the region.
When you arrive, you can pull into the upper stone driveway and follow the stepping stones to the original front door. This log home will ‘have you’ from the moment you enter!
The kitchen has been updated with granite counters, stainless appliances and stocked with all the essentials you need to feast and celebrate with friends and family. You can sip a cup of coffee from the parsons table in the kitchen, enjoy your meals on the outdoor dining set complete with party lights or simply be grateful for a traditional meal at the indoor dining table while taking in the incredible views!
The living room, which is open to the dining space, takes you back in time with interior wood logs, traditional chinking, pitched ceiling, log beams and a hand placed stone fireplace. The sky lights add a little brightness to the cabin and make for the very best star gazing late at night! There are two big picture windows for you to enjoy the beautiful mountain views that make you feel as though you are always in ‘The Great Outdoors.’ Enjoy the comfort of this room as you snuggle into the ample over- sized buttery, weathered sofa, love seat and ‘nap sized’ arm chair.
There are three bedrooms in this cabin, and two bathrooms. Bedroom #1 has its own entrance and a private walk out to the back upper deck. It features a king size bedroom, lots of closet space and cozy bedding. And, just for fun, a wood burning stove with a brick surround to make you feel like you are resting in the forest! It’s just to enjoy, so no wood required!
Next, is the second bedroom that has 2 twin beds and a full, updated bathroom. This is a fun room with a little more cowboy theme, perfect for kids or kids at heart. It has plenty of space, original hard wood floors and two big windows.
And, the third bedroom is on the other side of the cabin. It has a Queen size bed, lots of pillows and blankets, beautiful windows and an updated bathroom with a walk- in shower. This room is nicely decorated to make you feel both cozy and serene.
For your convenience, this cabin also has a full-size washer and dryer located in a hidden nook at the far end of the kitchen.
The front yard has such a peaceful mountain feel with the stone steps, rolling hills and mature trees. You can enjoy your time here with an iced tea or lemonade as you relax on the spacious patio dining set. In the back, there are a few areas to enjoy and explore. Take off and walk the grounds if you are feeling energetic as there is so much to see in the mountains. Or relax on the upper deck and enjoy the mountain range views. If you have small kiddos with you, you may even like the lower level fenced area where you can relax and play.
Wherever you choose to relax, we promise you will fall in love with the picturesque views that surround you.

Guest Access:
A private access code to the entire home is given upon booking. The front door has an easy to use and secure Yale smart lock.
The Neighborhood:
Cascade is a mountain town that’s been delighting tourists to the Rockies for over 140 years. This is where the Pikes Peak Highway originates, traveling to the summit of Pike’s Peak, a/k/a “America’s Mountain.” Cascade is situated northwest of Colorado Springs, ideally located to provide easy access to the entire spectrum of regional attractions, from outdoor adventures (including hiking, rafting, ziplining, hunting, fishing and fossil hunting), to natural wonders like the 300-foot-tall rock towers of the Garden of the Gods, to the urbane pleasures of Colorado Springs (a 24-minute drive) including shopping, dining, art galleries and more. You’re quite literally surrounded by trails, canyons and parks.
Right in town you’ll find Cascade Community Park where the Heizer trail leads to nearby waterfalls. Young children will love North Pole Colorado, a Christmas-themed amusement park, just a 10-minute drive from the cabin. The town of Cascade offers casual dining options, and a 10-minute drive to Woodland Park presents plentiful dining and shopping options, including supermarkets and familiar chain retailers if needed.
Getting Around:
We recommend that you have a car when traveling to this destination as Uber, Lyft and public
transportation are not as plentiful in the mountain regions.
If your reservation is in the Fall or Winter season please know that a 4x4 or AWD vehicle is recommended in case Mother Nature decides to share some snow. The roads can be slick even after the plows go by so be cautious during winter weather.
Other Things to Note:
While we don’t have onsite management, we will take care of any and all requests ASAP as we care about your stay!
AGE REQUIREMENT: Must be at least 21 years old. We cannot accommodate guests who do not meet this age requirement unless prior approval has been granted by us before check-in.
The average summer temperature in the mountains stays mild but we also offer
air conditioning. Our mornings and evenings are always cool, so to keep the cost of stays reasonable, and to enjoy the fresh mountain air, we ask, when you are able, turn off the AC and simply open the windows for a wonderful cross breeze and to enjoy the fresh mountain
air.
The fireplace in the living is for aesthetic purposes only, fires are not allowed.
Please review the sleeping arrangements prior to booking.
Please keep all trash secure in the bins.
Do not leave any trash out overnight for your safety and the surrounding active wildlife in the area.

We loved the cabin, but we probably would have picked a different site if we were aware of the winding broken road leading up the mountain and the stairs down to the front door. We are retired and found these elements challenging. Also, the property owner needs to grade the upper parking area. Deep ruts against the road also proved to be challenging getting in and out. We have fresh scratches on our car from navigating these obstacles.

We enjoyed our short stay! The cabin was clean, beds were comfortable, and the area was quiet! Nice views out the large windows as well! We would definitely stay again.

Great home in a great neighborhood! My family and I enjoyed all the amenities available!

We enjoyed our stay. Great location. Twin beds could use a memory foam topper as they are extremely hard. Tastefully decorated. Well stocked, clean. Needs to reinforce basement doors as bears got in twice and had to be cleaned up after. Quick response if there is a problem
4.8
Loved the old Cabin feel. The cabin was cozy and bed comfortable. Location was great for the places we wanted to see. Only suggestion would be to fix the kitchen cabinets so they stay closed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cowboy Cabin. The cabin was spacious and had an amazing view from the back deck which was located right outside a bedroom door. The cabin was well stocked and clean. The beds were comfortable and the living room spacious. The living room also had gorgeous views of the mountains from two very large windows. The cabin was within minutes from the areas we wanted to visit. Garden of the Gods was breathtaking! We also went to the Cheyenne Zoo, Manitou Springs, Colorado Springs and shopping at an outlet mall. The cabin management was very friendly, as well as the maintenance man who was there when we arrived. I would highly recommend this cabin stay for anyone with a family of all ages! Thank you so much for hosting us on our family vacation!

A cute cottage that was perfect for our stay. A great place for a short family trip while in the Colorado Springs area. Easy access to great hikes and a quiet location.

We had a good time in the Colorado Springs area, Cowboy Cabin was neat and clean and provided the great experience for our trip! Would stay again.
4.8
Very nice weekend getaway! Had very clear instructions before the visit that made it easy. Was great to spend time there, quiet location that made it very relaxing and refreshing.
4.8
Great location, quiet, clean. Kids loved returning to the cowboy cabin after a long day exploring.
Improvement opportunities:
-new cookware. We were not able to cook meals due to poor kitchen cookware.
-improve kitchen cabinets: cabinets would not stay closed and could be a trip hazard

We very much enjoyed the stay in this nice house. The location was great for all the sites we wanted to visit near Colorado Springs and was a nice place to just hang out and enjoy the Mountain View’s.
4.8
Good place with easy access to lots of outdoor things to do.

Everything was great except the heater never got above 63 & the bathroom with a tub the water did not get warm at all but the other shower was great

My husband and I stayed in the Cowboy Cabin and we can't think of a single negative thing to say about our stay. The beds/beddings were beyond comfortable, the kitchen was perfectly stocked and the washer/dryer were a HUGE bonus. The cabin is so warm, welcoming and well-appointed - we really could not think of anything more that they could have provided.

We had an excellent experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a cabin in the mountains! Gorgeous views and super comfortable
