About this cabin rental
A hidden gem set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, From the parking area a long garden path starts steeply and winds its way uphill for about 100m before reaching steps that lead to The Cabin, nestled behind horse chestnut trees and enjoying far reaching views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The 3 bedroom self catering accommodation is peacefully situated in a large, shared, wild garden, just a short stroll from the centre of Mortehoe with pubs, takeaways, village store and post office and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideally suited to walkers or families, it is a few minutes walk from the South West Coast path with many other lovely walks on the doorstep. A 5 min drive brings you to the popular village of Woolacombe with its award winning beach and surf and the other popular beaches of Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton just a short drive away. Rockham Bay is a short walk along the coast path or you can walk a bit further to Lee Bay and come back through the fields. If golf is your thing there is The Mortehoe and Woolacombe Golf Club 5 mins away with it's fun 9 hole course, Ilfracombe Golf Club with 'a view of the sea from every tee' and the highly ranked Saunton Golf Course nearby.
The Cabin is a comfortable holiday home with a large open plan living space with woodburner, xbox, netflix and well equipped kitchen/dining area. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 with superking pine bed, the second with zip and lock beds giving the option of a twin room or superking divan and the third a smaller room with bunk beds. French doors to the side open onto a decked area with large picnic table and barbeque. The family bathroom has bath and separate shower and the porch has ample room for coats, boots and bags. The secluded location gives a peaceful retreat after enjoying days on the beach, surfing the waves, walking the coastal path or exploring the beautiful North Devon coastline and countryside.
The accommodation is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility due to the long gravel path and steps. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times in the shared garden.
Please note the VRBO website states 9 minutes walk to beach. This is automatically estimated from the position on the map and not accurate. You can walk to the coast path in 9 mins but Woolacombe beach would be 25-30 mins walk. We are trying to get it changed with VRBO and hope for it to be accurately updated soon.
Kitchen with gas hob and electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Linen and towels provided. free basket of logs. Wi-Fi, Picnic table, Barbeque. Parking for 2 cars. No smoking, no pets. Changeover Friday with short breaks available outside of school holidays.

We had a lovely stay in the cabin. Perfectly located to get to lovely cliff walks and the sea and Paula is an amazing host always on hand to help with anything we needed. We would love to go back. The cabin is really well equipped and is deceptively spacious inside. The view from the deck of the cabin was lovely - straight over to the sea and whilst there are other houses around it felt private and set back from other gardens.

We had an amazing stay at the cabin. The communication up to our stay was excellent. The cabin is really well equipped with everything we needed. Walking distance to the local pub The Chichester Arms where we celebrated New Years Eve. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Really delightful cabin in extremely peaceful surroundings and in a lovely part of Devon. Although you feel away from it all, everything is at hand in Mortehoe and neighbouring Woolacombe. Exceptional walks and beaches, lovely cafes and pubs. The cabin is much more than a cabin. Really well equipped and spotlessly clean. Again with everything you need. Lovely hosts, lovely little touches. A real find!

We absolutely loved this place. Just had everything we wanted and more! Great for exploring the beautiful north Devon coast. Thankyou

This is a beautiful cabin, spacious, cosy and comfortable, in a phenomenal location. The views from the garden are fantastic.
The walk to Bull Point Lighthouse was easy for my elderly parents-in-law to do but also with astonishing views and plenty to see for my 14 year old daughter to enjoy.
Baggy Point offers dramatic views and it is another easy walk. It is only about 20 minutes drive away from the cabin.
So many beautiful nearby places to visit from Mortehoe!
Thank you so much, Paula, for the bottle of prossecco you left for us to celebrate my in-law's Golden Wedding anniversary! Thank you very much for the delicious biscuits and the milk, too.
We really appreciated and were grateful for the offer to arrive earlier and leave late, too. That was most kind.
Thank you so much for everything. We go home with priceless memories. Hopefully, we will be back to the cabin in the near future.

Lovely cabin in Mortehoe! The cabin has everything you’d need for your stay, really well equipped and Paula even checked with us before our stay to see how we wanted the beds/rooms configured which was great.
It was my partners birthday and we arrived to a bottle of Prosecco which was a lovely touch.
Nice addition of Netflix and an Xbox for those rainy days should you get them.
Really close to local pubs and fish and chips for food and the walk to Woolacombe is doable too at around 25mins though uphill on the way back.
We’ll definitely be back. We had a lovely stay.

Had a wonderful three night stay in this surprisingly spacious little cabin. My sister and I had a double bedroom each. There is a good sized kitchen with dining table, and living area with comfy sofa and chairs, and a lovely bathroom with a big shower and bath.
The weather wasn't brilliant, but it felt so cosy. We could have lit the log burner but we didn't need to. I'd be happy staying here any time of the year.
Great to have Netflix and Prime on TV.
The view from the back of the cabin is wonderful, with views of the sea (you can even make out Wales on the good day).
Paula is a great host, and although we didn't meet, it was really easy to send messages back and forth.
I would definitely recommend a stay here, and hope to back again soon.

The cabin is a lovely space with lots of natural light, very comfortable, and it had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were comfortable, and the whole place was very clean and well looked after. Paula was an excellent host - helpful and responsive, and we really appreciated the toys for our children, especially on rainy days! Lovely quiet location, surrounded by foliage and you can see the sea from the kitchen :)

We had a great time staying at the cabin. It is set in a beautiful large garden with a trampoline and sports equipment and a view of the sea. Spotlessly clean, well resourced. Well hosted...

Paula is a delightful host and very helpful in the whole booking and check-in process. The Cabin is beautiful and has got everything you need for a week away! The views from the garden were stunning and the walk up to Bull Point are gorgeous (literally on the door step). Highly recommend a few foodie stops close by including Miss Fea’s Cafe (book ahead), the local village Fish n Chips, the Farm House for a Cream Tea and fresh local cinnamon buns at the North Farm Campsite shop.
The Cabin is ideal for families with Paula adding extras like toys, games, computers and outdoor trampoline! It was wonderful. We highly recommend to all.

This property has views towards the sea in a most peaceful plot by the coast. The cabin is so clean and airy, the lounge area a good size with views of the garden and beyond through the patio door, the kitchen is well equipped, the appliances are easy to use and the car parking is such a bonus in this area. The owner is at hand if needed, such a pleasant lady. A gem of a place!

Spectacular views, lovely garden shared with owner but still had privacy. Great communication and info given by Paula before and during our stay and thank you for offering the late checkout due to no new arrivals that day.

A very welcoming and warm cabin, wonderfully tucked away with lovely sea views. It was the perfect birthday weekend away and Paula went above and beyond! Thank you for the Prosecco and everything else we didn't know we needed! We will definitely be returning!

Really great “cabin”, actually more like a bungalow! Had everything we needed in it and more. A good 20 minute walk to Woolacombe through the village. Good exercise and great views. Great walks all around. Incredibly dark and quiet nights makes for great sleep!
Paula checked all was ok once but otherwise respected our privacy. Paula’s communication throughout has been really polite friendly and informative. The wine, biscuits and milk were very much appreciated thank you.
We would highly recommend the cabin

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the cabin during the October half-term holiday. The cabin is comfortable, cosy and spacious (what you need with 3 kids) with great beaches and coastline nearby.
Paula was very responsive, helpful and thoughtful with toys for the kids and some treats for the grown-ups. Weather was very mixed but we may plan another visit when it's warmer!

We had a lovely September break in Paula's cabin with our 1 and 4 yr olds. The cabin is immaculate and the garden, which feels very private with a trampoline and badminton net is fantastic for children. Would definitely recommend!

The Cabin was very spacious, modern and super equipped for our short stay. It is conveniently located within a short walk to the centre of the village for the local shops and pubs, as well as being a stones throw from the coastal footpath and nearby beaches. We received helpful information pre-arrival and a warm welcome on arrival with some lovely provisions (milk, biscuits and local cider). Would definitely recommend The Cabin and host to anyone looking for a good base from where to explore North Devon.

We recently spent 3 glorious nights at the cabin. It's the cleanest holiday home I have had the pleasure of staying in, superb location, garden space was wonderful and had total privacy. We were contacted on the day to say we could check in early (which we did) and also given the option to vacate later on our last day which was appreciated. Stunning beaches and restaurants nearby and lovely to retreat to the cabin for peace and tranquillity in the evenings with entertainment for all. We will be back and can't recommend this hidden gem highly enough : ) Beds were so comfortable and I slept better than I have in years and felt totally rested despite the holiday only be a short one. Thank you x

Paula was the most gracious host and the cabin was set up with everything we could need for a family weekend. She thoughtfully provided games and books for our 3 and 6 year olds as well as treats for the adults. The cabin itself is comfortable, calm, situated in a lovely large garden with a beautiful view. All in all, an absolute gem!

Lovely quiet cabin
Great cabin. More spacious than we thought. Quiet and relaxing spot. Access to excellent coastal walks and runs, and a short 40min walk to Woolacombe. The local coastal line never disappoints. Friendly and responsive hosts.

Superb views from the garden
We had a fabulous holiday at the cabin. Spacious for our family of 5 adults, clean, everything you need in a home away from home with the added touches Paula had provided when we arrived, yum :) I particularly enjoyed the view of the sea from the garden. We loved the coastal walks and saw the sea lions and did a day surfing at Woolacombe. Paula had provided board games which added to the cosy afternoons in when the weather wasn't great. I would definitely recommend and we would love to visit again.

Perfect hideaway
This is a *fullly equipped modern hideaway in the quaint village of Mortenhoe, which is right next to Woolacombe. The use of the grounds, which by the way have sea views (!) made it extra special for our stay. Our child lovely the play equipment which is great for all ages. The
Village has some good eating options and the nearby campsite has its own shop, so you will not go hungry. Prepare to walk to the cabin but it is part of the fun. Paula was a lovely host and we would definitely return again. Thanks again for the welcome package! *PS there is no washing machine but you can hand wash and dry in the line if needed.
