There is a very warm 'feel' to the home; Great room fireplace is to die for - heats the entire house with auto blower unit - always a face cord+ of kiln dried firewood available; Spacious bedrooms w/queen beds - NOT designed for squishing as many beds in a room as possible :-)
The ground-level basement has a large seating couch that will easily seat 6 or sleep two very comfortably. 65” SmartTV w/ streaming services, DVD; Pool table and large wet bar. Bathrooms are on every level - Basement w/shower; main level - powder room and master bath; and upstairs bedrooms have a common bathroom with a very large soaking tub and shower. Master bath has an enormous whirlpool in it.
There are three outdoor seating areas --- Stone patio in the front of the house; upstairs, second level deck that wraps around the entire house, excepting the (Westerly) facing porch, which is a three-season screened-in porch attached to the house - screen door to the deck, entry door to the house, and window to the kitchen. The front and side yards are grass - about 1.5 acres. The back/side yard is fenced (picket 4') and has a firepit with natural stone bolder seating. The property has a flat circular drive, will fit 6 cars easily in the summer; in the winter there is plenty of room for 3+ vehicles towing trailers - importantly - a FLAT, WIDE PARKING AREA - you will not find a single location like this in the area. Think about this - it matters.
The lake access "outlot" is located about 500 yards west of the property. This is a .6 acre wooded lot with an access path to the private dock. The dock is 96' into the lake, 2.5'-3' depth at the end, horseshoe slip with tie-up lines. A large golf cart is provided as are two kayaks, 5-seat table at the dock.
The house is situated on 10 acres of land. There are marked trails for hiking - some decently steep climbs up/down - a beautiful piece of land. Access to the trail system directly from the property via Sleds/ATVs/UTVs.
There are a lot of animals that trek through the property on a regular basis -- Deer, Black Bear, Fox, Bobcat, Raccoons, etc. An amazing array of birds, including humming birds.
The street is very, very quiet - hardly a sound in the evening. All adjacent properties are of a similar size - single family homes of a similar 'cabin in the woods style'. It's 2.3 miles to the town of St. Germain - you'll find the basics there - grocery, gas, coffee and restaurants, sporting goods stores, hardware store, bait and tackle and boat/ATV/snowmobile rentals. There are two excellent restaurants within a half mile/mile of the property.
I think we’ve thought of everything (!). Key take-aways: Don’t under-estimate the value of 4 bathrooms; A heated 3-car garage is so nice; HeatTrak snow melt mats are a joy; In the Northwoods your property has to have backup power; The dock is amazing; the fenced-in backyard w/firepit is a must for summer evenings.

We stayed for 7 nights. There was plenty of room to spread out the 7 of us. We pretty much fish from morning to night. Great luck right off the pier. We rented a pontoon for the week from St Germaine sports and marine. It's family-owned and easy drop off and pick up to and from the boat launch right down the road. Really have no cons to the stay. Best price too. Our host was very accommodating and checked on us mid-stay. Everything you need is at the house. I recommend DJ's for breakfast. We went to Hubbard once for dinner at fish and fin...i think thats the name. Was good, but I didn't expect to pay $500 for 5 people when being served by someone in jeans and a t-shirt. Not worth the cost. Many other great options close by. All in all a great vacation! Beautiful lake and stunning land surrounding the home. Even had a moose cross the road. Fyi....there are deer EVERYWHERE... Which was another beautiful part of our trip!! Would highly recommend.

Where to start, first of all Jake has been an amazing host from the time we booked and through the entire stay.
Any questions we had he was prompt with replying.
There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. Checking in and out was easy.
We had an amazing vacation and this cottage fit our large family perfectly!
The cottage absolutely beautiful and it was spotless, beds were comfy and the outdoor space was amazing! This place was stocked with everything you may need, believe me they thought of everything.

The house was beautiful and clean, they have everything you need for your stay. Our family of 8 was very comfortable!
The lake was a bit farther than we expected, but the golf cart helps with that. This is a great Lake for fishing and possibly boating. I would not suggest swimming in the lake unless you do further research on Big Saint Germain lake.

Hands down the best vacation of my life with all of my kids, husband and mom to celebrate my 50th birthday! The property was absolultely perfect - from the great communication from Jake , to the pristine snow on the property, to the immaculate cabin, to all the decor and everything you would need and more inside the cabin! The snowmobile trail was right there, cabin is in a great location and my husband loved the heated 3 stall garage to keep the snowmobiles in to work on and thaw since we were there during a cold spell. I couldn't ask for a better trip - I can't wait to go back and use this cabin again!

We had a great time at at the Crooked Pine! The home is beautiful inside and out. Our family of 10 including 3 grandkids spent a lot of time at the dock, boating, tubing, skiing and fishing. Although the home isn’t directly on the lake, it is close by and the golf cart was a wonderful way to transport our things. It worked out great! We went horseback riding, spent a lot of time in the beautiful yard playing games, watching the deer, enjoying campfires and a scavenger hunt! The paved bike trail close by was just wonderful, too. Jake was excellent to work with and immediately responded to any questions!
